NBUS # 10

This will be my second post for this morning.  When I saw what Darnell had up her sleeve for the third part of her NBUS Challenge, I had to give it a go.  The NBUS as I explained before is Never Before Used Schtuff.  We all have plenty of that!  She has added an option of using bubble wrap in some way on your card.

Of course when I go looking for a piece of bubble wrap to use, I only have the huge bubbles.  My first three prints, I dripped my re-inks directly onto the bubble wrap.  They were okay but not what I was looking for.  Next, I bit the bullet and dripped the ink onto my silicone mat.  I smooshed the bubble wrap into the color and applied that to my glossy card stock.  Bingo!  The ink was re-inkers from SU!, and the colors were Summer Sun and Blackberry Bliss.  Both bottles were still sealed ... schtuff.

My card stocks are from Bazzill.  One is Mulberry and the other is a lemon color but had no title.   The stitched oval die is from MFT and more new schtuff is my new Anna Griffin happy birthday die.
The flower was created with a Retro Flower punch from EKSuccess.  I used a yellow hemp twine, and I added centers from K&Co, which were also new.

If you are interested in joining in, you can find the challenge over on Darnell's Blog, under NBUS #10.

Thanks for visiting.  Also, if you would like to see my earlier post from today, click here.

Rest and Relax

When you hit my age, everyone around you seems to be retiring.  I have a little stash of cards made for just such occasions.  Here is what I used.

My digital image of the mouse was cut out with a MFT stitched oval.  I mounted it onto a watercolor background.  Something told me to bring out my SU! corners punch and I double stacked them,  My little starfish is a die from Gina Marie.  The tiny Happy Retirement stamp is one of my unknown unmounteds.  For embellishments, I used jute twine, aqua Dew Drops and a stained glass charm shaped like flip-flops.

We are expecting blasts of snow showers today, so I think I will stay in and craft.  Make your Tuesday a good one.

A Get Well Wish

I recently needed a get well card for a stamping friends husband, who became ill, and eventually had surgery.  He is doing much better now, but had a horrible January.

My card uses the masking technique and one simple stamp from Rubbernecker Stamps. Oops, there is also the sentiment that was punched with an SU! circle punch.  I added touches of color to the center image to make it pop.  The papers were all pieces from my extras bin, and the embellishment was a bit of black twine.  This was a nice, flat card for mailing.  I may just have to make a few more of these to have on hand.  I think it is perfect as a masculine card.

This is a true Monday.  I would like to crawl back under the covers!  How about you?

Sailing Away.

Happy Friday!  How is it possible that another week has zoomed by?  Seems we are in for some real winter weather during the next week, so I already took my mind to the beach....LOL!  Anyway, on with my card.

I was also excited to try out my first installment of Anna Griffin dies, which finally arrived yesterday. I have been looking for that perfect set that will cover all of the relatives, even the in-laws, holidays, numbers, and the special little words that hook everything together.  For this card, it was the word SON.  Thank you HSN for craft day, the easy pays and multi shipments.  For me, this set was a no-brainer.  I also used the border from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlets dies set from SU! and the sailboat die from Darice's Nautical Theme set.  My designer papers are digital, and my card stock is a charcoal metallic.  It is a simple card, but I do so struggle with masculine designs, so I am pleased.

I would like to enter this card at Cuttlebug Mania Challenge which is Hobby, this go round.  Sailing is a hobby!

It was such a fun card to put together and I thank you for stopping by to take a peek.

Another Valentine.

One of the very first stamp companies I purchased from was Stamps by Judith.  Judith did amazing demos at all of the stamp conventions she attended.  Whenever I would attend, I would add a few more of her goodies to my treasure trove.

This card was created using just such stamps.  Her single rose, which I tripled, and her large bow stamp. That heart is also a favorite, as well as her Stubby stamps that make awesome backgrounds.  I used a soft blue base card and added designer paper .  My stamped image was cut out with a stitched circle from Gina Marie.  The sentiment is punched and stamped with SU! products, with gems added.  I finished with a seam binding bow, and touches with my Wink of Stella.

I will be taking this over to Pixie's Snippets Playground for challenge 265 and 266.  I have not played along in some time

We are expecting violent winds and rain into tomorrow, so I think I will hunker down and be crafty.  Enjoy you're day, what ever you do!

Raise Your Hand......

......If you are sick of my Christmas post.  My friend Carol has been bugging me to post something.  I know, I know....I am a slacker.  Truth be told, my hands have not been working properly and my coloring has been off.  It gets frustrating.  Also my visitors have totally dropped off to nil, so I figured, why bother.  I will give it a go.

Here is a Valentine I created using and old technique for the background and a Penny Black image I found in my stash.  The background was created using SU reinkers in drops, on a folded baby wipe. The paper has to be glossy!

This sweet kitty image was colored with Copic markers and fussy cut, popping it up over a heart doily.  The sentiment is also a digi.

Hope all is well in your little part of the world.  Wishing for this 2017 starts brings some good news for all of us.  Thanks for visiting.
