Beep, Beep!

Hope everyone had a good weekend, as they reflected on friends and loved ones who have served our country.  I worked most of the weekend so now I am off and have some time to create.

I have a card that uses this adorable VW stamp set from Flora and Fauna, which I colored in Copic markers.  I used a cloud stencil edge to create my clouds with soft sky ink.  My dies are from Diamond Press.  The flowers have gems added as centers, and the Hello is triple cut and stacked, then covered in Glossy Accents and a fine sprinkle of  of glitter.  My papers are all scraps from my desk.  The light turquoise layer was embossed with a Sizzix plaid EF.  I made up my own design, instead of using an older sketch.

This will be entered in the Tuesday Morning Sketches #455, Blank Canvas Challenge, and here are the rules for this week.

Please have a good mid-week, and keep your eye on the weekend prize!  Thanks for the visit.

TMS #454

Good day to you!  The sun is shining and it looks like a lovely day.  After 13 days of rain and gloom, I think we are very deserving.

Today I want to share a card I created for the Tuesday Morning Sketches #454.  I like this sketch since there is so much you can do with it.  I used a recently purchased Hero Arts set called It's Fiesta Time.  I think I  have a new favorite set!

I started with a base of textured Bazzill card and then a layer of printed Fiesta paper.  I cut my rectangle with a Tonic die and embossed it with a Darice folder.  My images were stamped with Hero Arts Intense Black ink and colored with Copic markers.  My sun is from Lil Inker.  I added a few sparkle gumdrops, and some Glossy Accents to the eyes, nose and tongue of my Chi-Chi.  The extra hat was cut from some of the left over paper.

I would also like to take this over to Little Red Wagon Challenge, called Under the Sun!
Also, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which is use more than one stamp.

Really hope this made you smile, and gave a boost to your day.

Bling, Bling!

Today I have a card that is created for the current challenge at Double D Challenges.  The theme is Bling it up!  I thought about this for a couple days before setting to the task.  I decided to go with a three color pallet, and let the sentiment and background paper do the work.  Okay, I did think about the bling but going with those colors made it an easy choice.

Here is what I used:

Papers:  Black and white card, printed fabric print from Pinterest.
Stamps:  Spring Sentiments by Stampendous
Dies and Punches:  Butterfly is Martha S.  and stitched Oval dies
Bling:  Stickles, pink 3mm gems and adhesive trim with st
ones, by Fabulous Finds

This was a fun card to create!  Very appropriate for this morning, as I watch the Royal Wedding.  Did you see Meghan's tiara?  Wowzer!

For the Kids!

I created this card awhile back to use for my sweet GS, and then I never used it.  When I saw this stamp set by Hero Arts, called Lil Hoot, I thought of all the great reasons I would have to create with it, and yet here it sits.  Well I am using it now!

The challenge over at the Shopping Our Stash #354 site is For the Kids.  The papers are all snippets from my desk.  I use a couple strips of the Paper Frills from Doodlebug.  The coloring is done with Copic markers, and I added Glossy Accents to the eyes.

I believe I will quickly make this card out and get it in the mail, with a small pack of stickers.  They are moving this up coming week, and being only 5, it is a bit confusing for him.  Have a great day, and thanks for the visit.

Doubling Up

How is it possible for May to be half over?  Just so hard to believe!  I hope someone, somewhere is having nice weather, but as for us in PA, we are wet.

I decided to play in a couple challenges, and I combined 2 for something different.  My card starts with a white base and a layer of printed design in yummy colors.  My flag panel is done with Bazzill card and embossed with a Sizzix folder.  My yellow flower border is a Paper Frill from Doodlebug.  The top spray is a vine die with Prima flowers, topped with clear gems.  My House Mouse stamp is called Two-Part Harmony.  The sentiment was purchased on Ebay, and is part of a set called Spring Sentiments by Stampendous.  Coloring was done with Copics.

I will be taking this to the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge, which is Anything Goes with the option of flowers.  Also, my sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches # 453.

I know my bird is a little far fetched, but hey, I had fun!

Playing with a Great Sketch!

This week the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches #452, is a great one!  I was offered by Debbie Foster, part of the design team, and I enjoyed working with it.

My card is an assortment of dies and stamps bought on Ebay, and papers by K & Co. card and mat pad, that I picked up at Tuesday Mornings. I added some Snug Hug seam binding for my knot.  I also added some gold sequins and a great gold and pearl brad from Pizzazz Aplenty for my flower center.

I would also like to enter this at Shopping Our Stash #353 which is Chanson Papillon

It is a glorious day in PA.  Plenty of sun and no humidity.  May have to go to the church fair up the street, this evening.  Storms are moving in for the rest of the weekend, so outside time may be hit or miss.  Hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day weekend, if you are a mom.

Mother's Day

Here is a card I created using my favorite little critter in the whole wide world.  This stamp and die set was a gift from a dear friend for Christmas, and is made by Taylored Expressions.  One day I sat and cut and colored a pile of these little pooches, to use on assorted projects.

My coloring is with Copic markers.  My sentiment is from a Lawn Fawn set called Happy, Happy, Happy.  The cranberry card base was in a pack from Tuesday Mornings, and I cut a second to get enough to frame my sentiment.  I had a scrap of grass die lying on my desktop, so that was added to ground my pooch.  The rose paper was a gift from a magazine called Make Special Cards.  I used a die cut button and threaded it with twine from American Craft.

I will be entering this over at the Shopping Our Stash Challenge #352, Mother's Day.

Guess it is about that time to get all these Mom Day cards into the mail!  Yikes, that is if I want them to arrive on time!  Have a great beginning to your week.  Hope to be back soon.

May Flowers

Over on the  Double D Challenge Blog, the theme is May Flowers.  I must say, I had fun with this card.  I was playing with a few goodies that have arrived recently, including this pretty stencil, that I created my background with.  All was done in Distress Inks in the colors of Peeled Paint, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers.

I added some die cut daisies, vines, and a triangle sentiment panel.  My small orange flowers are SU mini punches.  The sentiment is also SU and is from the Sunshine Sayings set.  Diamond Stickles and matching blue gems were added for sparkle.

The colors on their mood board were more on the pastel side, but living near a lake, you see flowers of all shades during the spring!  That is my answer, and I am sticking to it!

Hope you have an enjoyable weekend.  Well will have temps in the 70's, which will be perfect for outside chores.

Hello!

I am happy to have found time to play along , this week, at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  They are on Sketch # 451, and It is a goodie!

My base is 110lb. white card with a layer of Tranquil Sea from Gina K. Designs.  I found another fun scrap of designer paper in the stash my DD shared with me.  This has a sugared texture.  I thought about what to use for the corners, and decided on a Crafter's Companion corner Die-sire die.  That let the solid color peek through.  My center was created with a Spellbinder scalloped oval die which I sponged while still in the die, with Twisted Citron Distress Ink..  My fairy is from Ebay and I sparkled up her wings and added a gem to her hair.  I was not sure of a spray for under her, so I used that space for my sentiment, which is from SU.  I added mini flower punches, sponged with the same distress ink, and added tiny pearls.

Happy Star Wars Day!  May the 4th be with you!

Animal Magic

This card may have been made a bit ago, but it was never posted and I thought it would be cute for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, this week.  The theme is Animal Magic, so I wanted to use a card that I love.  This uses the MFT set called Up In the Air.

I scrored and folded some blue card for my base.  That was from Bazzill.  I created an embossed layer with a folder by Darice.  My background was done with Distress Inks, and spritzed with water.  The coloring was done with Copic markers, and I added Diamond Stickles to sparkle up my clouds.

That is my addition for today.  I am still looking for Spring.  It seems Summer showed up early.  Well, at least it is almost Friday!  Thank goodness for little blessings.  Enjoy!
