Well we made it to Friday, and the weekend of the "BIG" game.  I personally, am more into the commercials.  Not the ones that promote inhumane business, but the ones that make us laugh.

Unity, Be Inspired Challenge.

Since I had a little bit of extra time, I decided to make a card for the color part of the Unity, Be Inspired Challenge, for this month.  I just love the blue and purple colors that they chose!

My card uses the tall floral stamp this is included in the January Kit of the Month, at Unity.  Here is what I used:

Pure Ivory card stock from Gina K. Designs
Blue textured card from Bazzill
Designer Paper from Cosmo Cricket
Copic markers
Pearls
Bakers twine
and Glossy Accents

For us in PA, the storm was kind of a bust.  Can't say I am not pleased, as I would like to be able to go to work before the next one hits.  Thanks for stopping by. Hope all is well in your part of the world.

SSS and AI Challenges

Sharing two card that I have created, since I am in for the duration of the snow.   For card one, I brought out a couple of embossing folders that have not been used yet.  One is a TH Alterations folder by Sizzix and the other is also from Sizzix  with a large flourished heart.  My inks are form VersaMagic in pink grapefruit, and pixie dust. The stamps are from the Unity, January Kit of the Month.  I added a seam binding bow, pearls, and a silver charm.

This is for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge:  Have A Heart!

My second card uses up scraps from my desk top, and uses Art Impression stamps.  I used I-1238 and C-1452.  I also used a polka dot circle stamp over the pattern paper at the top from an unknown source.  I did some highlighting with a Stardust pen for sparkle.  Embellishments are small Prima flowers with crystal centers.  Stamped in Memento and colored in Copic marker.

I will be entering this card in the Art Impressions Challenge #151 Java Love!

Stay warm, stay safe, and don't do anything silly!  Praying for those in the blizzard area, where they are expecting 24-36 inches.

Weenie Wishes!

I created a couple of cards last week, while I was healing my heart.  We tried to rescue a Dachshund mix pup, and the people in front of us, who applied got her.  I am sure there will be the perfect Doxie out there for me.  I need a mini, short hair, female, and would prefer the traditional red color.  "Sigh".  Someday soon, I hope.

My first card was just envisioned when I found this scrap of blue dotted paper in my stash.  I ran with the monochromatic design.  Santa brought me these beautiful Stitched snowflakes from Lawn Fawn, which I keep cutting from every white scrap that appears on my desk.  I added mini blue Prima flowers, with pearl centers.  This adorable Dachshund stamp is from Rubber Cottage.I used Midnight Muse ink from SU!.

Card two, I created using a colorful scrap on white.  I then used the negative from the snowflakes, pounced it with Unicorn White ink from Hero Arts, and heated clear detail EP on top.  I love the results as they are soft and milky looking.  I added 3 card stock colors and fussy cut my Dachshund, once again.  The negative was once again a stencil on the green with the Midnight Muse.  The embellishments are from Craft n Craftin', and are glitter peel off stickers.  The sentiments on both cards were computer generated.

I would like to enter these cards over at Pixie's Snippets Playground #161, where it is all snippets, all the time.  I sure used plenty!

I hope you have a great week, and have lots of crafty fun.

Friends with Flair!

So happy to be at the Friday mark, once again.  Hope everyone had a great week!  I have a couple of Valentine's to share with you today.  Here is what I have for Friends with Flair, this week.

My first card uses Bazzill card stock, some sparkly satin ribbon faceted zebra gems from Recollections, and some scraps of zebra paper from Momenta.  The stamps are from the December, Unity KOM , called Warmth of Winter.  I used a punch for the little windows, and fussy cut around the heart.

I would also like to enter this card into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, called Have a Heart!

My second card was created in my effort to use up some of my older 12x12 designer paper.  I am starting to cut it down and do direct stamping.  I used Memento, Pistachio ink.  These stamps are from the new January, Unity kit of the month called Magic of Beginnings.  The stamps are just gorgeous!  I used darker green card to add hearts and a fishtail banner, with one little silver heart accent.  Keeping it simple.

That is it for now.  If you are a lover of Unity stamps, please be sure to check out the Garage Sale, Unity has going on, this weekend.

It's a Guy Thing.....

Sharing a guy card that I put together for a lady at work.  I used a rich cocoa card base, scraps of harlequin paper from my scrap bin, and stamps from the Wetlands stamp set, from SU.  I also found a collage sticker that has needed a home, and some stitched brown ribbon.

Trying so hard to use up things that have been cast into my deep abyss of crafty stuff.  How else will I be able to justify some of the new goodies that were showcased at CHA?  LOL!

I would like to enter this at:

Working On Love Cards.

Just wanted to share a card made with the December 2014, Unity KOM.  Using up some bits of ribbon and this large flower from my stash.  (I think it is Prima)  The paper is a double sided favorite from We R Memory Keepers.  I used a new embossing folder I received as a Christmas gift.  It is called African Weave, from Cuttlebug.  Thanks, Carol.

Had a crazy ice storm, yesterday, and we still have warnings today.  Temperatures are suppose to go up by lunchtime, so I guess I will head out to work then.

I also wanted to share this cute photo of my grandson, that my DD took this morning, as he left for school.  He has been talking up a storm, and one of his favorite sayings is "oh no".  I thought it fit this photo.  He is so comical!  Thanks for visiting.

Mid January FwF!

Happy Friday!  Can you believe that half the month is over, already?  I still have Christmas to put away!  Anyway, my January KOM has arrived from Unity, and since it is too darn cold to do much else, I have been creating in my stamp room.  Here is my Friends with Flair post for this week.

There are some gorgeous stamps this month, and if you are not a Kit member, you should check out the details.

I found a piece of script paper in my stash, cut it down, roughed the edges, and sponged it.  Next I stamped my flower image in Memento ink, colored it with Copic markers, and used Glossy Accents on the centers.  For my Sentiment, I stamped on vellum and quickly clear embossed.  The vellum was not showing well, so I backed it with a piece of oak tag card, wrapped it with brown twine, and added a flower from the original stamp.  Everything was put onto a kraft base.

I added a couple of punched hearts, and a butterfly sequins as an embellishment.  I threaded the sequins with pink twine and added a pearl head.

The inside sentiment, was a single stamp I received from a Unity grab bag.

I would also like to add this as my 3rd and final entry in Darnell's NBUS Challenge #3, which is for never before used schtuff.  Lots of it here... stamps, paper, sequins.... all new!

You never know..... I may be back!  Thanks for the visit!

A Little Friday Flair

Today I would like to share a card made with the November 2014 KOM.  I need to replenish my stash of sympathy cards, unfortunately.  I never like missing my Friday Friends with Flair posts.  If you have time check out the great sale that is going on over in the Unity store!

I started with a bubble gum pink card base, and then added designer paper from a KI pad called peace and butterflies.  I added a panel of embossed raining hearts from Darice, and a punched heart.  I cut out the bird stamp and using the edges of that same stamp, I decorated the heart and around the sentiment panel. This was all done with Smoky Slate ink from SU!.  There are a few mini pearls added for texture.

I woke to it snowing again.  I think maybe it is going to be one of those winters where we get little bits, but often.  I am not a fan of those.  Thanks for the visit.

A Little CASE

Hope everyone is holding up with this brutal cold.  I have been skipping work the last couple days, and hibernating like a little bear.  While scoping out Pinterest this morning, I came across a fun card, and just had to jump over to my workspace and try it out.

Here is the card I saw, and decided to CASE. As it turns out, I cased a case! Thanks for the inspiration, Sherrie M.. I did not have the exact stamp, but I did have this very, very old D.O.T.S. stamp.  Anyone remember them?  They were the beginning of my stamping addiction, but I swear that this stamp has never seen ink!  Too funny!  I used 4 colors of SU! inks.  They are Strawberry Slush, Positively Pink, Pink Pirouette, and Crisp Cantaloupe.  My sentiment is from a SU! hostess set called Wacky Wishes.  I used some Washi tape and sequins as my embellishments.

This card was so much fun, I am sure I will be making more of these in different color families.

Since this stamp has never seen ink, and is probably one of the oldest stamps I own, I would like to take this over to Darnell's NBUS Challenge #3.  (Never Before Used Stuff).

Thanks for visiting.  Stay warm and safe!

Back to Posting!

Hope everyone had a fantastic holiday.  Life was a little up and down, with coughs colds, and trying extra hard to not spread germs.  I was fine but my DD who arrived day after Christmas, and my DH who was on vacation, both had the crud!  Actually, he still does.  Oh well, there is no planning for this!  Let just say Happy New Year, and move forward!

I found some time to play, finally, and just had to ink up a couple stamps from my December, Unity KOM.  It has the greatest stamps, but there was just no time, with holiday chores.  I will try to make better use of them this month.  For now, here is my Friends with Flair entry.

I made use of the reverse side of some Bazzill, purple Houndstooth paper.  I have a very hard time finding good papers with purple.  I also found some snowflake paper dollies on clearance, and these amazing snowflake stickers from Craft n Craftin'.  I added sequins to the centers for some dimension.  This lovely lady and my sentiment were both popped up with mounting foam, after being fussy cut.  Coloring was done with Copic markers.

I would also like to enter this card at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, where it is Anything Goes

Look out Darnell, I am also going to enter my card in you're 3rd NBUS challenge.  My Unity Kit stamps have not seen ink, due to holiday turmoil, so NBUS it is!
