Friends with Flair, and a Happy Easter!

Morning blogging friends!  We here wee are heading into a holiday weekend, and a beautiful one.  I just realized I have been so busy, that I have not posted since last Friday's FWF!  Please be sure to check out all of the wonderful creators that have linked up, this week.  There is always that chance to win a prize for either commenting, or adding your Unity creation to the list!

My card uses the KOM from April 2011, called "Small Things Matter Most".  I saw this adorable little chick and sentiment, and decided to run with it.  I always love seeing the dotted highlights people create with their Copic markers, and gave it a go.  I think it created some movement for my tumbling chick, what do you think?

My papers are fromMy Minds Eye, and their Gnome Sweet Gnome collection.

I would also like to enter this for the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamps - Anything Goes

OWH midweek throwdown - Use stripes

Unity Friends with Flair - Anything Unity

I would also like to wish everyone a very happy, and blessed Easter!  I will be in and out of town, so this might be my only chance at wishes.  Just remember to have control, and back away from the jellybeans!

Friends with Flair, Yep, It's Friday

There are just so many fun stamps in the new Unity KOM, that I don't know where to start.  The March kit can be found here, and is called "you are simply the best".

This is a simple one, with Memento inks, in Rich Cocoa, Cottage Ivy, and Toffee Crunch.  Mr. owl was swiped with some ink to give him texture.  I sponged with Distress Ink around my edges, and added some gem eyes.  My branch is cut with a Memory Box, Grove Branch die.

I am in need of some birthday cards for this week, so here is a good start.  Be sure to check out all of the great inspiration that has been linked for Friends with Flair, and you may just win a prize!  TGIF, and enjoy your weekend!

Catching Up on OWH

Where are these weeks going?  I feel like I blink and it is Friday again!  I do know that I may be a bit scarce in the coming weeks from extra work hours, baby stuff, and some house projects the DH wants to start.  Once fishing season gets going, I will lose all hope for painting, and such.

Today I am going to link up a couple of OWH projects that were ready to slip by me.  First up is this weeks sketch #164.

This came about by scraps on my desk.  I started by playing with a couple neglected stamps, to create a background.  The swirl is from Magenta, and I believe the polka dot circle is an SU! stamp.  Inks are Poppy Parade, and Midnight use form SU!  The green I added is Pistachio from Memento.  My little button brads are a peg stamp from Judith.  I coated them and popped them up.  My glasses and sentiment are Unity Stamps form their 4-11 KOM.

Next is the Midweek Throwdown over on the Stars and Stamps Blog.  This week we are asked to create with our colors Ombre style.

I went with shades of grey and used a digital focal image.  My sentiments are from Gina K. Designs, older stamp set, called Punchy Words.  My images and chevron papers are from a website called Mel Stampsz.

Hoppin Down the Bunny Trail........

Morning, everyone.  Sorry I have not been posting much, but I have been sitting at my desk and playing.  I wanted to share a little something that I picked up last weekend, at a small local stamp show.

This cute bunny embossing folder is from Darcie.  I believe it was called Easter Bunny.  I was not sure how I was going to use it, but for my first try, I attacked it with Distress Inks, and Copics  I was pleased with the look.  I layered up some Prima flowers, and added a piece of a Marianne die to form my embellishment.  I found a scrap of gingham designer paper

I hope you enjoy what I made.  Thanks for spending some time with me today.  Guess I should think about going to work, lol.  I can see the snow melting before my very eyes!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

I just wanted to share the adorable treats that my DD made this week, for her staff, at work.  Aren't they just the best?  The pot of gold, the rainbow, and the clouds!

Have a wonderful "Wearing of the Green", and I hope to see you again soon!

A Quick FwF Post

Morning!  Just wanted to post a couple of cards that have been laying on my desk, this week.  I missed last weeks Friends with Flair, on the Unity Blog, and I just don't want that to happen again.  Be sure to check out all the great work that people have linked.  You may just win a prize for commenting.  Better yet, ink up some Unity stamps and join in!

My first card is rather rustic, and uses stamps from the Feb. 2013 KOM.  I grabbed some kraft and grey card stock, along with my Distress Inks, and got busy.  My designer paper is Wild Asparagus, and the flowers have hints of white gel pen and Copic.  Just added a simple twine bow.

Next is the new KOM at Unity, called "you are simply the best".  This is just me playing with my Memento markers on a couple of stamps, after I punched them all out.  I added a little shine to the letters with a Sakura Stardust pen.  Navy mini brads and a gingham bow, finish things up.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and thanks for stopping by.  Looks like we have at least 4 chances of some kind of snow and slop in the next few days.  Sheesh, Mr. Groundhog, you promised spring!

Isn't Nature Amazing?

Hi everyone!  I don't have a card to share today, but I would love to share a couple of photos that my DH took this weekend, as he was cleaning up in the yard.  We had wonderful temperatures.  Hope you enjoy what Mother Nature has made here.

Here is a close up of this amazing tree fungus!

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope to see you soon!

OWH Catch Up!

Okay, okay... I have been slipping with my OWH posts lately.  I am here to play a bit of catch-up with the weekly sketches and Monthly ODBD Challenge.

First card up was for OWH Sketch #160

I used a Lockhart apron stamp, a TLC digi sentiment, and Basic Grey designer paper.  I did some Copic coloring, as well as using scraps for my background.  There was a Swiss Dot EF, as well as some black sticky pearls involved.  I did the sentiment streaky to remind me of pickled wood.

Card two is for OWH Sketch #161

This card is using a digi image that was great fun to color, but has no makers name attached, so I can give credit. My designer paper is from Bo Bunny's Surprise pad, and my card stock is Gina K. Pure Luxury.  See my little sticky dots in the corner?  They reminded me of ice cream swirls, and they were white so I colored them with Copics.  Inside is a digi sentiment that says "Have a Yummy Birthday".  That is from Bross Art Addiction.  There were two different SB dies used, and I added some Crystal Effects to the froth.

Card three is for ODBD Month of March Challenge to use scallops.

Yes, I know I used that same SB oval die on my last card, but the truth is I just love the looks of it!  Lacey Ovals is a favorite!  My designer paper is from Wild Asparagus, and was a gift from a friend.  It was also used to create my flower in a contrasting pattern and was punched with with a Punch a Bunch punch, and formed on a foam pad.  I cut out another favorite, which is the Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish die, which seems to fit just about anywhere.  I did my sponging and stamping with Memento Pistachio.  Sentiment is from Unity, and pearls were added.

Okay, that is it for me.  Have a glorious Sunday!  I sure hope to see you again soon.

FwF Day, and A Day of Rest.

Happy Friday!  Can you believe it is the first day of March already?  I have a quick post, with a couple of cards for Friends with Flair.  One uses the Feb 2013 kit, and the other is from March 2012.  Let's do the oldest KOM first.

I have a dear girlfriend who will appreciate this card.  I used markers and colored right on the rubber.  Then I added a couple of banners cut from a country plaid.  The little sticky brad heads are from g.c.d.studios, and their Funhouse Collection.

Card two is a technique I have been seeing lots of where you ink up your acrylic blocks and create a background.  Then you stamp a bold image in black over top.  The typewriter and sentiment are both from the Feb KOM called Let Love Grow.

I like how both of these turned out, and I hope they inspire a wee bit.  I also make an Irish card for the Feb KOM which is in  my previous post, here.  Take a little peek!
