A Little Thanks

How is it Monday morning, already!  Ugh!  Oh well, time is one thing we have no control over.  It was a very uneventful weekend, and I guess that is a good thing .  Sounds like we are in for a stinker  midweek.

Today I would like to share a card I created for my dear friend Johnny.  He has been great with taking care of our doggie, when we go to visit the kids.  She just loves him.

My stamp is from Rubber CafĂ©, and was cut out with a SB scalloped Oval.  I pierced the ruffle, and colored with Copic markers.  Diamond Stickles were added to the wings.  I inked my Darice Paw print EF with slate grey ink, and did it blotchy so it looked like stone/cement.  I added a band of black, glossy snake skin paper from my stash, and the die cut is called "A Little Thanks" from Memory Box.

I would like to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which is Anything Goes.

Hope that the week bring lots of fun and pleasant Summer happenings your way.

It's Flair Time!

Good Morning, and welcome to another Friends with Flair Friday link up.  Today I am sharing a card using Unity stamps that I received in one of their wonderful Grab Bags.  I am unsure of the sets that these came from, but they were super for this monochromatic card.  I just adore b&w cards!

I am not going to be able to give too much in the description, other than Unity, the papers are scraps, my border is from K&Co., and I used Stickles on the cameras.

On a personal note, the nerve study (EMG) was just as unpleasant as I had suspected.  My CTS (tunnel nonsense) is only in the moderate stage, and could not be what is causing my symptoms.  Back to the specialist next week.... Ugh!  Have a glorious weekend, and get out and do something!

Oh My! AI!

Good Wednesday morning!  When I saw an announcement on FB for new Art Impression stamps, exclusively at Michaels Craft store, I had to go check them out.  There are 5 sets, and 3 had to come home with me immediately!  I just love the AI Oldies... they crack me up.

Sooooo, here is my first try with a set called... well, there is not a name anywhere on the set.  I will just call it the gardening set. The hose stamp is included, but the little patch of grass is a separate AI stamp I have had for years. My coloring is done with Copic markers, and all papers are scraps from my desk.  I believe the dotted card stock was something I also picked up at Michaels.  Even the mini Prima flowers were shoved in a corner of the desk top.  The candy dots in their centers are from SU!  I found that stamped border in a tub of junk and recycled it.  So, that is how this card came to be.

AI recently had a blog hop to introduce these fun stamps.  Here is the link.

Since I used table scraps to create this card, I would like to enter it over at Pixie's Snippets Playground # 130.

I am headed off to the hospital for a nerve study on my hand/arm.  The Dr. thinks that an injury about 6 weeks ago, triggered  that dreaded Tunnel business.  Ugh!  Say it ain't so!  I am not sure this test is pleasant.  Surgery would mean no crafting, but it has to be determined.

Some Fluttery Flair!

Here we are, and another week has whizzed by!  This week Unity is having a #Hashtag sale, so be sure to check it out.  It is also time for my Friends with Flair link, to all of the amazing projects that have been created using Unity goodies, this week.  There is always so much to inspire us!

For today's card, I once again used June's KOM, called "In Love with Love".  That is where I found these adorable butterflies.  The friend sentiment in the corner is from the April 2012 KOM.  I used black, and pink card for my layers, and a double sided piece of designer paper as my background.  The paper is from American Crafts, Soho Garden collection, and is called Greenwich Village.  This paper is a favorite of mine, so you may be seeing it again.  I turned down a corner, and secured it with a brad.  I am sorry to say that these butterflies are pure sparkle, and I could not get it to photograph.  My last touch were the flowers with pearl centers.

We have the promise of a fairly lovely weekend.  I even get to spend a little time with my adorable GS!  Woo Hoo!  Thanks for visiting today.

A Little Congrats!

Here is a card created with the Unity, June KOM.  I created this for my DIL who is in the process of completeing her first year as a K-8 music teacher.  Not an easy task, by any means.  This also includes Christmas Pageants, and end of year productions.  Phew!  I thought she deserved a little special recognition.  The fact that she was able to find a job in her field was amazing in itself.

I was not sure about this lady stamp, that was included in the kit, but once I got into water coloring,  I got excited.  The music score I added behind her, was from 7 Gypsies, and the congrats stamp  is from SU!.  The card and envie are part of a gift included from Unity, as are the flowers.  The background dp with it's glittered spots is from my stash of scraps.

I would like to enter this over at Pixie's Snippets Playground, since I used lots of thing that have been laying on my desktop.

Happy Father's Day, to all the great dads out there.  Hope you have a restful day!

Friends with Flair

TGIF!  It's been a long, dreary week, here in PA.  The sun has not even thought about making guest appearances.  Today, I would like to share a couple of cards made with the new June Unity Kit of the Month, called In Love with Love.  It has wonderful images and sentiments, and it could be yours, if you sign up to be a KOM member.  Please check out the wonderful creation linked for Friends with Flair

Card one uses designer paper, water color paper, punched and embossed hearts, ric rak and gingham ribbon, and a button.  The coloring was done with Copic markers.  I just love these sweet little jars!

Card two is a CAS design, with the image ruling the front of the card.  It was done with water colors, on water color paper.  The front of the card was embossed with a Swiss Dot EF, and strips of turquoise card stock were added as a simple accent.

Thanks for visiting!  Enjoy a wonderful weekend!

Stencil it!

Morning, friends!  Today I would like to share with you a CAS card that I am entering into the Stencil it! Challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  This weeks theme is Stencil It!

My short list of supplies are:

Stencil by Balzer Designs, by the Crafters Workshop, 6x6 Mini US Map

Inks are SU! Pacific Point, and Real Red

Card stock is 110# generic white, and red

Sentiment is computer generated.

Embellishments are Stardust pen and some bright blue pearls from Queen&Co.

My speckled background is done with a Stubby stamp from Stamps by Judith.

I should keep tons of these cards in my stash, as they can be used for any occasion.  Also, both of my children live out of state, and these would be great for that special note.  This would also make a great Operation Write Home card, for those serving.

Sorry if the photo is not top notch, but we have been in the gloom for days now.  Thanks for stopping by, and another weekend is fast approaching.

NBUS, you say?

Here is a challenge created by a very funny lady by the name of Darnell.  Her blog is called djkardkreations.  She created this challenge to celebrate the milestone of 500 followers to her blog!  Now NBUS you ask?  It stands for "Never Before Used Schtuff".  Well I know I have plenty of that!

My card uses a stamp set that I have never inked.  I have lent it out, but it is a new one to me. The set is called "The Line of Bull".  I consider this a friends card, because you know we share all of our aches and pains with our friends.  I mean, who else would listen to it? I am so glad that Darnell said that the older, unloved schtuff would be happiest if used first.  I have had this for ages!  I also broke out this textured, metallic silver card stock that was pushed in a deep, dark corner.  The coloring was done with Copic markers, and I used twine from American Craft, and a small charm that I won from a challenge, ages ago.

I would also like to enter this at TTCRD, where it is "Anything Goes".  Also want to enter at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, where they want Masculine/Father's Day.  This horse is masculine, right?

If you have time, please stop over to Darnell's blog, and maybe even become a follower.  She is hoping to do another challenge when she reaches 600 followers. Thanks for giving me a reason to use my "schtuff".  Have a wonderful beginning to your week.

Happy Friday!

Well here we are, back again.  The weeks are just zooming by!  It is once again time for Unity's Friends with Flair, and some great inspiration from other Unity stampers.

This week, I have 2 more watercolor cards to share.  The first is from the April 2014 KOM.  I just love the floral panels that they have been including in the kits.

I used kraft, ivory, and chocolate card stock, with my image stamped on watercolor paper with Memento ink.  This is very CAS and I tried to focus on the main flower.  A bit of washi tape was used as an accent.

My second card is on white card stock with designer paper by Studio Calico.
The stamps are from the July 2011 kit.   I created a border with my SU! scoring board.  I also used my Memory Box button dies, to create accents from the same paper.  There is a soft shadow that I stenciled around my main image with a Balzer 6x6 stencil, for some added dimension.

My adorable grandson, Brian, turned 1 last Saturday, and I thought I would share a couple photos!  He was very serious as he explored his smash cake.  It was hard to tell if he enjoyed the sweet taste.  He was so good!  There was blue up his nose for a few days.

Have a great week!

Why, Oh Why?

I just do not understand why it took a trend for me to think about including watercolor with my stamps.  I love playing with them, and wanted to share a card I made this morning.

I used the Unity KOM for January 2014.  The watercolor background kind of explains itself, except for the yellow spots.  I just had a really wet brush and tapped it.  My image and sentiment are stamped in Sage Shadow ink from SU!, since I did not want it to be bold.  I then accented with Memento marker, and Stardust pen.  All of my papers are scraps that were on my table.  I die cut my Memory Box, Precious Stars die, and gave that a bit of watercolor, as well.

Since I used all table scraps to create this card, I would love to enter it over at Pixie's Snippets Playground, this week.  Thanks so much for stopping by, and make the best of your Monday!
