Second Post, Huh?

Yes, you heard me right...... I have a second post today!  I saw the Challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge, which is Come Rain or Shine.  Guess what I made yesterday????? A card for rain or shine.  It was like someone tapped me on the shoulder and said "excuse me, you need to make this!"  So I did, and here it is.

The dies used are from Lil Inker, for the sun and clouds, Memory Box for the umbrella, stitched ovals from MFT.  The rain drop background and sentiment are both from Unity KOM, Feb. 2012.  The papers are scraps from recent projects, and I forgot to mention the SU corner punch, which hasn't been used for some time.  This will also be a second post for the Unity Show and Tell group on FB.  Just  got an email for the new Mod Squad Challenge, and it is Springtime..... what good luck!  I will be sending my card there, also.

Well, there you have it..... rain or shine!  Today we have lots of glorious shine!

Little Red Wagon # 334

Since I have made a ton of Easter cards and have posted next to none, I decided to get one in before the season is over.  Over at Little Red Wagon they have Challenge 334 going on, which is Easter/ Happy Spring.  I made some combos using dies, punches and lots of scraps.  Here is one of my very favorites.

I started with a white base, added a scrap of striped designer paper, and added a watercolor panel to rest my bunny basket on.  My stenciled, die cut flowers are from Crafter's Companion.  The sweet bunny and bow are dies from Lil Inker which I borrowed from my friend.  The basket is rather new and a die from Darcie.  The stitched oval is fromMFT, and the sentiment is Cat's Pajamas.  The tiny eggs are from scraps and punched with a thumb punch I have had for years.

I made a ton of these, this year and mixed them all up, different colored bunnies, different backgrounds, etc.  Loved them all!  Thanks for stopping around.

Playing at the Playground!

I have been absent from the Pixie's Snippets Playground Challenge for many weeks. It is # 221. Blogging has, (I'm sorry to say)  been a bit stale.  This card screamed to join the fun since I used a whole assortment of scraps from the corner of my desk.

The Tim Holtz Crazy Birds came to my house by way of a friend, but I loved them so much, I just had to buy my own set.  All I need now are the accessories stamps

All of the papers are bits that I used on Easter cards and such, but I thought they make a bright, wonderful background.  The epoxy words are from Heidi Swapp, and a great find at the local Tuesday Morning store at .99 a sheet.

Today's big snow has blown out to sea, and the most we could get is a coating late tonight... Phew!  I really wanted my pretty Daffodils to open completely and be ready for Easter photos.  Enjoy your week leading up to the holiday, for those who celebrate.

This Weeks Unity Show and Tell Challenge!

This week was a challenge for sure!  It is a color challenge and the colors are sage and mustard..... Eek!  Oh my!  They are not the colors I would pick but her is what I came up with.

I used a sand card base with a scrap of travel designer paper.  The stamps are from the January 2012 KOM, called Heart and Soul.  They are the flower and the great sentiment.  The house is a die cut and I did embellishments of burlap, candy dots, and an epoxy heart.  Stamping was done with SU! inks in So Saffron and Pistachio Pudding.

Let me wish all my friends and family a lucky St. Patrick's Day.  We have been a bit spoiled with so up and down mild temps, so I hope all of the street celebrations, and parties are enjoyable.  They keep saying the bad old S--W word for Sunday, but I am going to think positive thoughts about that one.

This Week at Unity Show and Tell......

It is an inspirational photo!  Lovely colors and wild flowers in great photo.  Since I was in need of a comfort card for a fellow my husband works with, I used that as my focus.  He just buried his mother on Wednesday.  Not easy to make, but these cards are a great part of our creativity, also.  Here is the photo we are to draw from.

I created this card with an assortment of inks, which includes Memento, SU!, and Copic. I used a kraft base and a piece of Vintage Shabby paper from Tim Holtz.  My only embellishments are a strip of frayed burlap, and a few gems on the butterflies. The stamps are from the February 2013, Unity KOM called "Let Love Grow".  I must admit, that it is one of my very favorite kits with it's vintage images, and they cover St. Pats, Sympathy, Wedding, and so forth.  Here is hoping you like what I have come up with.

Have a wonderful Friday, and Enjoy!

P.S.  I guess the sentiment does not make much sense unless you know the inside says" Surround your heart with love and bring you strength".  Duh!

St. Patty's is Upon Us!

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is called "A Bit O' Green.  This worked out perfectly since I was in the middle of making the few St. Patrick's Day cards I send.  My dear friend Colleen, sent me some stamped images from the TH Crazy Birds and Accessories, which I dug right into.  Some day I will have my own set, and you will indeed be sick of seeing them.

I used some hoarded Irish papers, and a new shamrock EF from Darice.  The large shamrock and sentiment are from a new combo set from Sizzix, which I recently purchased.  Coloring was done with Copic markers.

The weather has been just glorious, and the temps hit 82... say what!  It is still winter and only March, right?  A repeat is in store for us today, and it's a darn shame I have to spoil it by going to work.  Have a great one wherever you are.

This Week at Unity Show and Tell......

The challenge is a sketch.  They explain that the sketch is just a jumping off point, so I ran with it this time.  I used an older kit of the month from  April, 2011, and pulled out this funky eye glass stamps. Of course they had the perfect sentiment to pair up with them!

I used scraps of a bright colored dp, and some solid scraps as well.  My glasses panel was cut out with a stitched rectangle from Lil Inkers.  I did the lenses with 3D Crystal Lacquer and added some pink gems, even t the glass frames.  I think this is the rare CAS card that I create.  Coloring is done with pencils and Copic marker for the grey shadows.

If you would like to see all of the gorgeous cards made by friends in the Unity Show and Tell group, on FB.  Send a request to join!Last week there were 185 creations to oogle over!  Thanks for the visit and enjoy your weekend.

Touchy Feely

That is the name of this weeks challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  It just means they want texture on your card.  Hope this fits the bill!

I created this card using stamps from the Unity KOM for January 2011.  My first layer is using a stencil from MFT, which is a tiny star background.  I sponged with Versamark and embossed with white EP.  The next layer was done with the same stencil, moving it slightly and smearing it with sculpture paste.  For the final stars layer I punched some stars with an SU mini punch and also die cut stars and planets from a tiny Memory Box die set.  The card was finished at the bottom with Washi tape that is called watercolor.  The ink used for stamping is Pacific Point from SU.  There is also a wee bit of Unicorn White ink, from Hero Arts,  sponging to give it a frosty look.

Seems I have been on a monochromatic roll lately.  LOL!  How did another week roll on so quickly?  I am sure glad you paid me a visit!
