Puppy Love

Today is an exciting day for me.  Not only did I get to start playing with my new Puppy Love stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, in a couple hours I am going to hopefully fall in love with a new puppy, myself!  I have been searching for a Mini Dachshund, little girl for over a year, only to find there is a brother and sister not far from my home.  Fingers and toes crossed that this is a good match!  My biggest fear is that I will want the brother also, if he is still available.

When I saw this set was being released, I know it had to be part of my collection.  The sentiments and images are just great.  My first card uses a Dachshund stamp and I thought the diggity sentiment was fitting.  The set also has assorted sizes of paw prints, and hearts.  I used a scrap of chevron cardstock from my stash, and punched, glossed, and glittered a heart which I popped up.

My second card is on a kraft panel, dp from the Crate Paper, Fourteen collection, and a strip of burlap.  I double stamped these doggies with Cracked Pistachio Distress ink,  and Memento black.  I used a C7 Copic to give them a shadow on one side.  I again punched a heart and stamped one of the small hearts from the set inside.  All of this was done on a SB Romantic Rectangle diecut, which I sponged with Old Paper Distress ink.

Please be sure to check out this set and all of the new release at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!  They are fantastic!

I would like to take these over to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge : Anything Goes.
Also, this would be fitting for Darnell's NBUS Challenge #4, as my second entry, since these are new goodies I am using.  Have a great week!

A Little Easter Flair!

Happy Friday, friends.  Today I would like to share an Easter card that I made this week, Using Unity Stamps.  My tree and cute little bunny are from a newer set called Meow . Purr . Baa.  The sweet sentiment comes from the Feb. 2012 KOM.  My cards stock base was embossed with a Decorative Dots EF from SU!.   Seems there is always an endless pile of white scraps on my desk to be used.  I sponged a sky and grass setting around the tree, and popped up my bunny.  My bright border is created with assorted Washi tape.

I would like to enter this card at the following:

Unity Friends with Flair:  Must use Unity Stamps
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes
Pixie's Snippets Playground: Must use snippets
Darnell's NBUS #4:  Never Before Used Stuff.  The Unity stamp set, and The Washi tapes.

Thanks for taking a look, and I hope you are experiencing some of the joys of Spring!

Friends with Flair #2

I was able to make a second entry for this weeks Friends with Flair, over on the Unity blog.  This card also uses stamps from the March KOM.  Have you ever started to create and it ends up in a totally different place?  LoL!

Here is what happened.  I looked to my right sitting at my work space, and I found strips of Micropore tape which I had used for a different project.  the edges had been sponged in pink, and there was white embossing on it.  I thought to myself, lets not waste this!  It really made a cool texture for a background.  The problem came when I started adding stamps and extras, when I could not get a good balance.   So, here it is, and if you look real close you will see a tiny bit of the tape sticking out.  Oui!  The designer paper is from Crate Paper's Fourteen collection.  I even did a bit of paper piecing on my cuppy cake.   We have a doily, a bow made with an SU Bow Builder Punch, fishtail banners, an enamel heart, and some sparkle from a Stardust Pen.

     Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Spring!

If you are feeling anything like me, you are glad winter is behind us.  The problem is that spring forgot to tell winter to get out of the way!  It is snowing here in PA, and we are expecting inches.  I think I will skip my free Rita's Water Ice tradition today! They give one away free each year, on the first day of spring!   Brrrrrr!

I would also like to share this weeks card for Friends with Flair, and Pixie's Snippets Playground.
I started with a white base, and then made a smaller quilted panel with scraps. It was run through the Cuttlebug using a Dotted Swiss EF I picked up the teal in the scraps, and cut a spellbinders heart and mat for my sentiment.  Next, I stamped my images from the March Unity KOM, applied clear embossing powder, and did some coloring with Copics.  I found this twisted fiber in my stash from my scrapbooking days, and added a few Chickaniddy hearts to finish.

Have a great weekend.  Not sure what we will be up to.  We had some new furniture delivered yesterday, and we have move it 3x now.  Could be interesting!

Butterfly Challenge

Happy Tuesday!  Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Today I would like to post a card for Mrs. A's #26 Butterfly Challenge + P for pattern paper.  She is just so clever!

I found this gorgeous designer paper and based my card from those colors.  it is from the DCWV Violet Leaf collection.  My silver and layered lavender butterflies are Recollection Sophia diecuts, as is my lavender mini doily.  The yellow butterfly is a scrap, punched with an MS punch, as is the ledger which I stamped my sentiment on.  Speaking of this sentiment.... anyone have a clue who made it?  It is one of my favorite sayings, but I obtained it when I bought an un-mounted collection, and I have not a clue.  I stamped it in Versamagic ink.  The pearls are Eyelet Outlet, and my enamel heart is Chickaniddy Crafts.  Her challenges run for a couple weeks, so hop on over and give it a try.

I will leave you with a picture of my GS, as he is ready to depart for school this morning.  Luck of the Irish be with you!

From All Of Us......

Another week has zoomed by, and it is time for Friends with Flair, once more.  My March Unity KOM seemed to arrive quite early this month, and I have been plotting out my inking.  We went from all that snow last week to a complete melt down and temps in the 60's this week.  Hard to believe that last weekend we were building a 6 foot snowman!

Anyway, here is my card which was created with the March KOM.  I stamped my image and sentiment in Versafine ink and clear embossed.  Things were colored in Copic markers, and fussy cut.  My papers are from Heidi Grace and Doodlebug.  I added a Fanciful Flourish, from Cheery Lynn, and some gold sequins for sparkle.  I think these stamps from the kit will get used frequently, as there are different sentiments that fit the label.

I would like to leave you with a picture of my GS and DH, as they completed their snowy friend!  Thanks so much for the visit.

A Masculine Background

After more hours of playing, I created this masculine card.  I would like to enter it in the Mod Squad Challenge for this week, which is "Backgrounds".  Not sure why the Masculine cards are so hard for me.  I do love that I got to use more dies that I received for Christmas, and inks that had been long forgotten.

Here is what was used:

Card stock:  white, kraft, and snippets of black and teal.
Dies: Spellbinders Sprightly Sprockets
Sentiment:  Clear Dollar Stamps
Stencil: Crafters Workshop mini gears
Inks: Pacific Point SU!, and Brilliance Archival Platinum Planet
Embellishments: pre-cut frame from stash, pop foam, and gear brads by Eyelet Outlet

Since there were snippets used, I will be taking this over to Pixie's Snippets Playground # 167

I will be taking this over to the Just Us Girls Challenge #283 Word Week - Masculine, also.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

A Little Girly Flair

Today I have a bit of a feminine card to share with you.  I found these painted shoe embellishments in my stash, and decided it was time for them to be used.  Thought they were so cute.  There was this great sentiment in the Unity February KOM, and it just clicked!

I created my background with re-inkers on watercolor paper.  A strip of brightly colored designer scrap was added down the side, and under my sentiment.  For added interest, I used Prima Got Flowers minis and sticky back pearls for the centers.

I will be entering this for:

Friends with Flair:  Use Unity Stamps

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge:  Special Lady/Girly

Mod Squad Challenge:  Create a background

We ended the day with about 10 inches of snow.  There is a warm up on the way, for next week.  I hope to get back to more regular work hours.  Enjoy your weekend!

For some reason, I can not get my other two challenge to link up.... anyone having trouble like this?  I will keep trying.

Playing with Snippets

Today we are having our deepest snow of the season, and since I am home from work, what better playtime than using up some snippets.

I received two great die sets from Santa, and they are made by a new to me company.  It is called Little B.  One is called Baby, and the other is called Handwritten.  They are very intricate, and cut well.  Each set comes on a magnetic board, that holds them securely.  Sooooooo, I pulled out my tub of scraps, and cut a bunch of baby onsies in many colors, to use on cards.  The stork is from the same set.  There are 18 word dies in that set, and I chose congrats for my card.  I also used a frame that was once a punch out from an 8x8 pad.  My only embellishment is a twine bow.  My kraft background is embossed with Sizzix Decorative Dots folder.

I will be entering this over at Pixie's Snippets Playground: Must use snippets # 166
.
I see more of these cards in my future, especially when I break down and get stitched rectangles to make frames.   Thanks for the visit, and make it a good day!

Unity Be Inspired Challenge Feb-Mar

Had a little extra time this morning, and I wanted to use a couple more stamps from my February KOM, from Unity.  I decided to enter the Unity Be Inspired Challenge for this month.  Plus, I had seen a shaker card idea where you use a small glassine bag and sew in sequins to make the shaker.  Had to try it.  It's been a long time since I used my sewing machine!

My papers are from Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby pad.  My sequins assortment is from Fancy Pants.  The coloring is with Copic markers.  Ribbon is hand dyed seam binding (wrinkled).  My extra hearts are SU bitty punches, with a touch of sparkle from a Stardust pen.  Perhaps I should have gone a bit lighter on the sequins, but I figure it is an added gift.

I hope you like, and I appreciate the visit!
