Class Clown!

The newest  challenge at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #269 , is Anything Goes with the option of Back to School.  I know some children go back really early, but most of our schools just got out last week. The snow days had to be made up.

The card starts with a white base and designer papers from a collection called Bloom by Crate Paper.  I used 2 Spellbinder die sets.  One is Blossom and the other is Standard Circles Sm..  My House Mouse stamp used is called Class Clown.  My sentiment is from a Hero Arts set.  I added Nuvo drops and some stamped dots from a Judith stubby, to create my background.  There was also distressing done with a dirty blue sponge... LOL.  There could be any color on there!  My last embellishment is a piece of yellow twine with a couple school themed charms, which I attached with Glue Dots.  There is an apple and a chalk board with a math problem.  I am trying to use these things in my stash, more and more.

It was great fun to create and I am hoping the background is not too girly, so I can send it to my GS.  It was so nice to have a day off with the sun shining and blue skies.  Have a happy Tuesday!

Bright and Cheerful!

That is the name of this weeks challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge... Bright and Cheerful!  That was what came to mind when I was creating this card.  I thought it would brighten someone's day.

To create the card, I used a white base with a layer of Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Rainbow paper.  I just love this paper and could purchase over and over again.  I did the corner treatment with a quarter of a paper doily, an SU! scalloped punch and flower w/ a beaded center.  I also added a row of white ric rac beneath my image.  I pulled out an old Hero Arts wood mounted set called Birthday Cupcakes, and white heat embossed my image.  I went to town water coloring it with my SAI w.c. brush pens.  My sentiment is from Stampendous and their Life Words set.  A few drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Caribbean Ocean color, finished it off.

This is one of my very favorite cards I made this week, so I hope it made you smile.  Sounds like an on and off rainy weekend, so if I am not at work, I will be creating!

Millie Mouse.

Woo Hoo, the weekend is almost upon us!  How is that even possible?  I worked second shift, yesterday, and I am feeling like a slug this morning.  Even my flow of coffee is not helping.  I decided to get my weekly share for Tuesday Morning Sketches #458 posted, before time gets away from me.

I decided to use a stamp set by Inky Antics, called Millie Mouse.  I just love this set cause the mouse is made in parts, and you can insert different things into her arms.  She also has different hats and such for the top of her head.  I opted for a bow.  I started with a base of Bazzill card stock with a layer of designer paper from Basic Grey's PB&J collection.  I then created some stitched oval die cuts, one in a yellow print and a white for my stamped design.  I sandwiched some blueberry dot ribbon from American Crafts and tied a bow.  My coloring was done with Copic markers, and for embellishments I added Glossy accents and a few yellow Nuvo Drops.

Here is hoping you enjoy my creation!  If I can get my brain to wake up, I plan on doing more creating today!  Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Father's Day

Just had to post the cards I sent out for Father's Day.  Anyone who knows us well, knows the Della our Doxie, loves her daddy, Jim.  So, I set out to find a cute Doxie image to make his card from.  I ended up using it for most of the cards I sent, since I loved it so much.  Look at that sweet face!

I started with a red card base and added a layer that is embossed with a wood grain.  Next came my image, which is digital and was obtained on Pinterest.  I fancied it up with Glossy accents on the eyes, nose, and glasses.  My sentiment is from My Sentiments Exactly.  I fussy cut the image and popped it with foam tape.  I found this scrap of red plaid to cut my banners from, and called the cards done.

I would like to take this over to the Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge, which is Father's Day.

To all the dads out there, enjoy your special day.  It is going to be a warm one here in PA, so I am encouraging my guy to go out, early this morning, for a bit of fishing.

Bee Happy!

Today I have a card I made during the winter months, and never posted.  Today the Challenge # 450, at Little Red Wagon is called To Bee or not to Bee!  Well isn't that just perfect!  It paid off making spring goodies during the doom and gloom months.

I am going to do my best to remember everything I used.  My card base is Lemon Drop for Gina K. Designs, with a white layer stamped using a SU! background stamp.  My flowers and deckle panels are both from Spellbinders, and my adorable stamp set is from Honey Bee Stamps, called Build A Bee.  I used distress Ink on the flowers, bee, and panels.  I also added a few scattered dots with a Stamps by Judith stubby stamps.  I added burlap ribbon, gold brads, and some Diamond Stickles to the bee's wings.

Another gorgeous day here in PA.  I am taking it all in, since they are saying temps will be feeling in the 100's by Monday!  Yikes!  Our bodies are not made to do 50 degree drops and climbs like that.
Whatever you do this weekend, please enjoy.

Following a New Sketch.

Happy Tuesday!  It was a pretty day, here in PA.  I had a little time before I went to work, this morning, and tried my hand at the new sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches # 457.  I may have taken a few liberties with it, but I think I got sort of close.

I used navy card stock and some gingham paper from MFT.  I cut my printed image with a Gina Marie stitched circle die and inked the edge with Distress Ink.  I used a letter die to create my sentiment, and used a Diamond Press die to make the rays under my circle.  I could not leave it alone so I added some Impression Obsession gulls die cuts, and a few sticky gumdrops.

Hope your week is perking along smoothly!  Thanks for spending a few minutes with me.

Boop, Boop A Doop!

I had a young fellow working for me a time ago that said his mom was obsessed with Betty Boop.  When it was her birthday, he asked if I could come up with something for her.  That is how this card came to be.

I started with an white base, and then added an embossed heart panel, which I rubbed with Unicorn White Ink by Hero Arts.  I divided the panel with a Lil Inkers stitched Diagonal die.  That was flanked with candy dots on either side.  Next came my printed image which I layered and started embellishing.  I used Glossy Accents on her jewelry and eyes.  Wink of Stella on the words, and then added die cut letters to spell MOM.  My final were 2 punched hearts, which I popped up.

I am entering this over at Double D Challenges for their Teal and Red challenge.

Hope everyone has fun things planned for this weekend.  Sounds like storms here, so I may just opt to got to work for a bit.  Whatever you do, please enjoy!

A Rose....

Behold a creation that was made with a no brand embossing folder from Ebay.  I have made a few different colors, and added a few different sentiments from SU.  All of them came out so pretty, but I think this was a favorite combo.  I used sponge daubers and assorted Distress Inks which were applied to the raised area.  Gems were added to the centers of the tiny lavender posies. The polka dot paper is a scrap from my stash.  Simple but yet pretty.

This will be entered at Little Red Wagon for their A Rose BY Any Other Name challenge.
I would also like to take this over to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which is Wedding/Anniversary.
There was a request for me to link this up at the June Link Party at Crop Stop, also!

I hope all is well in your little corner of the world.  It has been a long week here with a sick Doxie.  I am hoping things turn around today.  Sick doggies make me sad.  :(

My GS Turns 5!

How is this possible?  Wasn't he born just last week?  We are so proud of him and how good he has been the last few weeks as his mom and dad moved themselves to temporary housing.  Who would have ever thought their house would sell within 24 hours?  Yikes!

His birthday was officially 5-31, and my DD sent these 3 photos of him with his cuppy surprise.  I love them so much, I decided to make a tri-fold to stand in our dining room, so I could enjoy it.

I used Warm Cocoa card stock from Gina K Designs, and cut 2 A2 cards and overlapped the 2 panels.  Next I found this adorable sunflower paper in a collection by Jen Hadfield, called Warm and Cozy.  I printed and cut my photos with stitched oval dies, and centered on each panel.  I created sunflowers using the Lil Inker small stitched sun die, and added brown centers, punched with an SU punch.  The vertical HB die is unknown, and the 5 is cut with a Memory Box # die.

I very rarely do any scrap booking these days, as I concentrate mostly on cards.  This was something special.  I would like to take this project over to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, this week, it is Anything Goes.

Thanks for letting me share this special moment, and I appreciate that you stopped by.
