My Butterfly Challenge

It is a glorious Sunday morning, here in PA!  Fells like spring, smells like spring, and makes you want to get out and work in the yard.  Today I would like to share a card I made for Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge #29 + L for lace!  Phew that was quite the mouthful!

I have used so me of the many digi images that I have saved to my computer over the years.  Sad to say that many have no designer names attached, as is the case with these beauties, sorry.  For my embellishments I used a paper lace doily, gold metal gems from KI, and cotton lace.   Also added a little sparkle to my butterfly with some diamond Stickles.  I did layer the Iris over the musical background, so they were 2 separate files.

I have one of those friends that I sent this card right off to!  Have a wonderful week.

Hello Handsome

Last week, I was so happy to be the winner of Friends with Flair, over on the Unity blog.  My prize arrived yesterday, and was an amazing grab bag of Unity stamps.  Todays card uses 2 of the stamps that I received in that grab bag.  Why don't you come and join in the fun?  You can also be a winner by leaving comments on the projects that get linked up.  This is what I came up with for this weeks Friends with Flair.

Here is what I used for my card:

Card: Neenah Solar White card stock, DCWV jewel card stock, and designer papers from   Pebbles,Family Ties collection.

Stamps: Unity

Ink:  SU! Midnight Muse

Embellishments:  KI metal faceted metal gems

Punch:  SU! 1 3/8 circle

I am always lacking in my supply of masculine cards, so I may just make a few to have on hand.

I would also like to enter this card at:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which is CAS

I always love when you stop by, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Creating a Background

Good to see you, my blogging friends!  I would like to share a card I made for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which is to create a background.  I had an older stamp set on my desk top from Inkadinkado, which was their Wedding/Marriage set.  I decided that this free flowing dove and heart stamp would make a great random background.

My card also uses my new SB dies set called Ironwork Accents.  I stamped my image and sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink, and you background stamp was done with Tuxedo Black Memento, since I was adding touches of C1 Copic to the doves.  I sponged edges with SU! Smokey Slate ink.  My background hearts were done with red Memento and covered in Diamond Stickles.  I added red gems from KI.

I would also like to take this card over to Pixie's Snippets Playground #173
, since I believe the gates have opened, and I have used more of my bits of white card to create.

Thanks for the visit, and have a glorious Sunday!

My FwF Post.

Hi friends!  Sorry I missed last week, but it was not exhausting enough with a new puppy in the house, I went and caught this nasty bug that has been going around.  It made for not much sleep and very long nights.  I will be posting this for Friends with Flair, this week!

My card this week, uses the Unity KOM from February 2012.  It contains many great stamps, and I have gone back to it time and time again.  My card starts with a white base, which I stamped with the rain drop background stamp, using Smokey Slate ink from SU!.  I then layered on leftover scraps of TH Shabby dp.  I used mounting foam to get some dimension.  The umbrella and sentiment were also in the kit.  Coloring was done with Copic markers, and sponging was done with Smokey Slate.  I added sequins from Fancy Pants, and a bit of sparkle from a Clear Star Gelly Roll pen from Sakura.

Thanks ever so much for paying me a visit!  I will try and get around to visit before the weekend is over.  I have some friends that are fighting very big battles, and I will be sending this out to one of them.

Della

A new little lady has decided to accept us as her parents.  We just brought her home last night.  Her name is Della, and she is a Mini Dachshund.  I have been wanting one to complete our little family for over a year, searching far and wide.  How funny is it that she was to be just 10 minutes away!  Since we have always had large dogs, like Jessie Girl, this is a new experience for us.  Della was born on Groundhog Day 2015.

Here she is meeting Jessie for the first time, last night.  It was such a good encounter.  Jessie is trying to act disinterested, but following her every move.  It is so cute!  Where Jessie is not a good traveler or boarder, we hope that Della will be the opposite and enjoy trips to visit family.  Dachshunds are known to live over 20 years, so I am sure that this sweet girl will make a great companion for us.

Just a heads up.... my crafting time may take a hit for a little while.  We will have to see.  Thanks for visiting, and I hope to see you very soon.

Friday Flair

It is the beginning of a busy holiday weekend, and I wanted to be sure and get my Friends with Flair card posted, over on the Unity blog.  We do a cold meal of ham and all the trimmings, so I was able to complete most of the cooking this morning.  Tomorrow can then be left to egg hunts, and enjoying my sweet little GS.  Sounds like we may need to work between the rain drops here in PA.

My card is created in a CAS fashion, using the March, Unity Kit of the Month.  I slightly popped up my panels.  My middle panel was created with We R Memorykeepers watercolor washi tapes.  My flower and sentiment were stamped in Dusty Concord Distress Ink, and then colored with colored pencils and mineral spirits with accents done in Copic.  The flower centers were added in Stickles for a bit of sparkle.

Thanks for the visit.  Now let's celebrate, and be joyful!  Easter blessings!
