Get Well

Well, hello friends!  Woo Hoo, we have sun today!  How great is that?  The sun makes everything feel fresh and new.

Today I am trying a new to me challenge that I found on the list at Challenges For Days.  It is a challenge this week for Get Well Cards.  Heck I have needed so many as of late, that I do not get a chance to post them all.  It is called Pause, Dream, Enjoy Challenges.  They are on #30.

On to my card.  I found a pile of these soft papers hiding in my closet, and decided it was high time they got used.  The curved die is from Ebay , as is the sentiment.  Those sweet little fairies are from the Lawn Fawn set called Fairy Friends.  They were colored with Copic markers and a wee bit of sparkle was added to their wings.  A trio of soft pink flowers were added as my embellishments.

That is all I have for today.  Hope life is treating you well.  My GS is coming for the weekend, and that always makes for some fun times.  Hope the weather holds so we can do our local fair on Saturday.

Bamboo

This week we are living in a tropical rain forest.  It is quite interesting, and makes for a fun game.  You can walk to the mailbox in the sun and come back in the house soaking wet.  The angels up above are playing with the faucets... on and off, on and off.

Anyway, I have a card for Pixie's Snippets Playground, that I made this week for a friend going through a rough time.  This challenge is #331.  At the playground, you must use snippets on your project.

I found a piece of yellow Bazzill card stock, which I had abandoned from another project.  Yep, I even went square for a change.  The pretty piece of designer paper was in the load of scraps that my daughter made me take when she packed her craft room to move.  Those scraps have been inspiring me, believe it or not.  I thought this piece looked like the tops of parasols.  I found a small strip of the speckled olive card, which I cut in half to make the 2 borders.  My bamboo image is from TLC Creations and had the sentiment attached.  My Panda and butterflies are Unity stamps.  The square was cut with a stitched square die from Gina Marie.  A touch of Stickles, a satin bow & a few epoxy dots are my embellishments.  The bamboo leaves are done in Glossy Accents.

Phew... Sorry to be so windy!  Have a happy day, and thanks for visiting me.

Coffee, Tea or........

As I was surfing challenges, yesterday, I came across the newest challenge at Double D Challenges.  This time the theme is "Tea and or Coffee".  That one got the juices flowing!

Starting with a white base, I added a layer of designer paper from Bo Bunny and their Early Bird Collection.  I cut 2 lacy borders from an Ebay die, as well as my new cup stack die.  The soft aqua card stock is textured and from Bazzill.  The other border was sponged with Grapefruit Grove ink from SU.  My fishtail die is from Gina Marie and was sponged with Pool Party ink.  I paper pieced my cups with die cut scraps.  My sentiment is from stamps by Judith, and a small satin bow in a matching color was added to the corner.

I have enjoyed the last couple days, and tomorrow I will return to work awaiting my next stretch of time off.  I do appreciate your visit, and I hope you are having a good week.

Lovin' This Frog!

Happy Hump Day, and what a pretty day it is!  We went from 103 to low 80's with no humidity.  Quite enjoyable.  Today I getting a bit of an early jump on this weeks Tuesday Morning Sketches sketch.  It is # 462, and I think I did okay with it.

First I used an adorable frog, pre-colored image from Laurie.  I printed and cut it out with a Gina Marie stitched circle die.  I used ink sponging with SU! inks in Pool Party and Lemon Lime Twist to separate sky and ground.  I added some duck egg blue Nuvo drops.  My designer paper is all scraps, and the only one I know is the wood paper from JoAnn's Fabric.  My base is 110 lb white card.  As for the sentiment, it is from Marks of Distinction 1991.... yep a real oldie.

Hope you enjoy this card and also enjoy the rest of your week!

Feed Me! #362

I don't know about you, but one of my favorite things is when all the Summer fresh veggies come into the farm stands.  That is usually our Saturday morning ride!  My very favorite are juicy tomatoes.  That is what drew me to this great stamp set, when I bought it back in the day.  This card has been sitting in my post later folder for ages.  This challenge at Shopping Our Stash, made me drag it out and give it a final smile before posting.

The stamp set is from the now closed store of Flourishes, and is called Italian Garden.  I started with a white card base, My next layer was embossed with an SU! embossing folder and then had it's corners rounded.  I used a Crafter's Companion corner die to create a lacy pattern.  Next, I cut 3 stitched circles in graduated sizes.  The dies were from Gina Marie.  After distressing the edges with ink, I used the 2 smaller ones for my sentiments.  The center was used to create my yummy tomatoes, which were colored with Copic markers.  I added a few foil butterflies and sequins for details.

I would also like to enter this over at Pixie Snippets Playground, where Di is the perfect hostess.  This challenge requires you to use snippets and I did that for my background and circles.  That also includes that strip of veggie paper, which I never mentioned!

Now that I made myself hungry, I do believe I go make myself a cheese and tomato omelet!  That is what I call eating well.  It is getting ready to storm here, and I must get ready for work.  Have a great finish to your weekend. and thanks for the visit!

TMS #461

Happy Friday!  It seems it takes until Friday to get a card completed for the Tuesday Morning Sketches site.  It is Friday the 13th, besides!  Ugh!  So far it has been a nice calm day of crafting, and I am enjoying myself.

My card starts with Night of Navy card base, with the next layer being from Bo Bunny's Early Bird Collection.  I used a Crafter's Companion, Parquet embossing folder for my small rectangle of navy.  The oval  was cut with a MFT Inside-Out Stitched Oval, and stamped with a sentiment from the Technique Tuesday set called Love You to Pieces.  My puzzle pieces are a corner stamp that is unmounted and I have had it for years.  I heat embossed it in black and colored with Copic markers, then fussy cut the pieces and heat embossed again with UTEE to give them a thick feel.  I have not used  my Ultra Thick Embossing Powder in ages, and it can make such fun embellishments.  My only other additions was some navy twine from American Crafts.

Well, that is it for me today!  Hope whatever you have planned for this weekend, is fun!  I appreciate your visit, and hope to see you again soon.

Finally! This is a Double Header!

It has been a few months since I have gotten to see my DD and family.  Felt like forever!  During that time,  my GS turned 5 and also graduated from pre-school.  I have been hoping to share the cards I created for both occasions.

First up is Brian's birthday card.  This was created with printed gaming papers and a stamp set by Pretty Cute Stamps called Game On.  I used a pierced oval die to showcase my #5.  I added some Glossy Accents to my controller and some green candy dots to go with the paper.  The Grandson stamp is from Anna Griffin.

My second card was  harboring a gift card for his Pre-School graduation.  I asked his mom what color the cap and gown were and she said she thought blue, so I went with it.  Turns out it was maroon!  Oops.  Another fun story with this, is that I sent hubby for the gift card and he came home so proud that he did not buy a plain generic one.  He found a Happy Birthday one.  Say what?  Another oops.  So you see, I am glad these are finally delivered.

I cut a stitched postage rectangle die from white card stock and stamped these really cute graduation stamps, I found on Ebay.  The little boy was colored with Copic markers, placed back in the die and sponging was done with Tan ink.  The papers I used were from a masculine 8x8 pad from Memory Makers called Just Chillin.  My stars were cut from navy card scraps and are from Sweet n Sassy Stamps.  I added crystal stars as well as pearlized star stick-ons, as accents.

Well, that is my story and I am sticking to it.  Two things off my plate, and a fun weekend with half of my family.  Good times!  Thanks for stopping by.

3 Cheers......

......for the red, white & blue!  This week the challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is  the patriotic colors of our nation.  I did not get anything posted for the 4th of July, so I decided it was time to make something before it was too after the fact.

I started with a white base and added a layer of Pebbles, Americana paper with a strip of MFT Tiny Check. Layers of doily edge dies in Red and Blue embossed dot Bazzill card stock were next.  My red rectangle was embossed with fireworks stamps from Stampendous, called Aaahsome Fireworks.  My sentiment is unmounted and unknown.  I sprinkled some red gems and gem stars for a little sparkle.

Thanks for taking a look, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

TMS 460

I tried my hand at the sketch challenge, this week, at Tuesday Morning Sketches #460.  As soon as I saw it I knew what stamp set I needed to use!

My stamps are from  Inkadinkado's, Music Inchies.  They were cut with a small, square die from Classic Spellbinders.  The card base is Crumb Cake with a wood grain designer paper from JoAnn's.  I added a music staff swash and a smaller sentiment from SU.  I had some teeny tiny black stars, which I added to the corners.  So glad I had an idea, as I have missed playing there the last couple weeks.

Happy 4th of July!  Hope you have an enjoyable day

Monochromatic Critter!

Today I am sharing a card which I made a bit ago, but never posted.  So glad I keep them in a file and delete once used.  It makes it easier to keep track.  How do you do it?

I use to be hooked on the line of stamps created by Lindy's Stamp Gang.  They have such great personality!  This is from a set of stamps called "The Line of Bull".

My papers are kraft, white which I embossed and stamped, and a scrap of designer paper from my bin.  My Darice EF was inked to show depth.  I used a stitched oval die from MFT,  (which I have since lost :(  ),  and a length of Paper Frills edging by Doodlebug.

I would like to enter this card at Use Your Stuff, which has us doing monochromatic,  Also loading this at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies #16, must have a critter.  A friend has just become part of their design team, and I have never played there, so figured I would support.

It is still over 100 degrees, here in PA.  Not much energy in these temps.  Crafting will just have to do!
