Let's Sail Away!

Here is a card that I created for a fellow employee.  She wanted a special Valentine for her hubby.  I did a few different thing, but used all scraps from my desk to make it come alive.

I started with assorted Distress Inks to create my sky and ocean, placing a circle die cut so my moon would stay white.  I also stamped my boat and sails from PTI.  I then re-stamped the boat and sails, fussy cut and adhered.  My background was sent through the Cuttlebug using a Square Lattice EF from Stampin Up!.  The anchor is hand cut from the same set, as is the sentiment.  I added seagulls from Impression Obsession, which I cut from black scraps, and well as stars and a heart from a Simon Says Stamp die.  My sparkle is not showing as I would have liked, but there are touches of Stardust pen, as well as crystal stars from Recollections.  I carried the theme to the inside.  My panel was mounted on white and then red.

I would like to enter this at Pixie's Snippets Playground #162, which is always snippets.

Also I would like to take this over to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which is Anything Goes.

Another sloppy morning, here in PA.  More rain than snow, but they are calling for a flash freeze early this afternoon.  I think I will stay put!  Thanks for stopping.

One I enlarged your photo I could see the sparkles on the stars. Fantastic card and I'm sure your co-worker's hubby will be thrilled with it. Your birds really look to be in flight and your sponging of the sky and ocean are spot on. We have about 6 inches of snow as far, but it will be turning to rain/sleet this afternoon with the temps. plummeting by tonight. Glad I don't have to go anywhere until Wednesday. I'm glad you get to stay put also.

What an amazing card - making the scene before you embossed it makes it look like a real painting on canvas.
