May Challenge at Craft A Scene

Good Morning!  This month, at Craft A Scene, the challenge is "Spring Flowers".  I though about this one until mid month, and decided to use an old PSX stamp from my collection.  It has Wisteria, Iris, Tulips, Jonquils, Forget-Me-Not's, and a flowering Dogwood or Cherry! The # is K-2151.  I think that covered most of the flowers in my garden.

I started with a bright coral card stock for the base.  Layers of Out of Print, and Indie Bloom, from Basic Grey were added.  My image was stamped with Versafine Ink, and clear embossed.  Copic Markers were used for coloring.  I then cut out the image with a Labels Twenty Three die, from Spellbinders. The sentiment is from an Impression Obsession clear set, called Spring Seals.  I punched it out with an SU! scalloped circle punch.  Peach/Coral ric-rac was added, and topped off with pearls.

It is so funny, but back in the day, I fell in love with so many stamps, would buy them and stick them in the drawer.  That was because I had no clue how to even begin coloring them.  If it were not for our blogging friends, new products, and people who are willing to teach us,  I think that many of these beautiful images would remain tucked away.  Thanks for the inspiration you share with me, each and every day!

Mary Anne,
This is beautiful! I love your coloring. I'm touched by your words and feel the same. If not for all of you out there I'd still be looking at stamps and not knowing. I still remember my first GinaK set, which was really my entry into card making. I brought it home and it was on the sheet of rubber and had no idea what to do. LOL That is when I met all my blogging friends and I pick up inspiration everyday from all of them.

Stunning card. Love all the flowers, wish my front entrance was so beautiful! Love how you colored it, and your right, before the internet and blogging had to depend on getting to out of town stores and classes....so much info now it's mind boggling!

Thanks for your kind comments on our new puppy. She has some big paws to fill...but so ready for a dog in the house.

Hugs
Sue

Beautiful card. I know what you mean about putting craft things in a drawer and never using them...I went to my first stamp show about 20 years, came home put three stamps in a drawer and there they stayed until about 4 or 5 years ago, when I finally got them out and used them. Like you said, the problem was...I didn't know what to do with them...thanks to so many helpful people including you, Mary Anne...(when is the next get together? Hint, Hint? smile...
