Shopping Our Stash #291

Who knew I had a Mardi Gras stamp?  That helped me to create, and join in the fun at Shopping Our Stash # 291.

The card base is a mauve from Bazzill, with a layer of Bo Bunny polka dot on top.  I found a length of metallic ric rac, which I thought would help to embellish.  Next came my sentiment that was stamped from an Avery Elle set called Circle it Clear.  My main image is an unmounted stamp, and I am clueless as to the maker.  That was colored with Copics and Wink of Stella was applied.  My dots and swirls are stamped with my trusty stubby stamps from Stamps by Judith, which sit on my desk at all times. Diamond Stickles were added to the swirls.  Next, that was cut out with Spellbinders Dahlia dies, and while still in the die, sponged with Hello Honey ink from SU!.  Assorted gems were added for the Mardi Gras bling bling!

Inside the card is the saying Laissez les bons temps rouler, which is french for "let the good times roll".  This is a popular saying during this celebration.

Expecting another 72 degree day here in PA, today.  May just have to step away from the craft room for a bit and take it in.  Enjoy the day, what ever you do!

This card made top 3 and I greatly appreciate it!

From Farm to Zoo.....

Today I have a double post for you all.  My first card is for Little Red Wagon #382, which is Down On the Farm.

I believe I will also enter this for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which is Anything goes.

For this card I used stamps as follows.  The sheep are from Inkadinkado, The sentiment is an unknown, The dots around the sentiments are a stubby stamp from Stamps by Judith. The clock is from a Layers of Life kit from Unity Stamps, and my grass was made with and Art Impressions grass stamp.  The fence is a Martha Stewart border punch.  I added blue sticky pearls as accents.  I used assorted inks and Copic markers to color.

There is nothing like ripping the sheep out of the barn so they can be counted on a sleepless night!

Next, we visit the zoo, with this fun card I made for a co-worker.  This kid was fresh out of HS and one of the biggest clutz's I have ever known.  He broke everything he touched and would trip and fall constantly.  We use to say he was like an elephant on roller skates... well I had one on ice skates and so I went with it!

I made this for the current challenge at Cuttlebug Mania, called It's a Zoo Out There!  My elephant is from Rubber Cottage and was stamped an cut out with my stitched oval dies from MFT.  The Ka-Boom stamp is unmounted and unknown.  My background was created with a Tim Holtz Shatter stencil, which I borrowed from a friend.  It was mounted on a soft sand base.  Sticky prisma gems were added to look a little icy.  I used assorted inks for distressing and Copic markers for coloring.

Sorry this post is so long.  Thanks for seeing it through.  Have a wonderful Thursday!

Underwater!

I found a challenge over at Cardz 4 Guyz with the challenge being #158, create an Underwater card.  Here is the card I came up with.

Things started with a white blank A2.  The next layer is black cards stock which was cut with a Tim Holtz Mixed Media die.  I stamped a swirl and dot background with Stamps by Judith stubby stamps.  My octopus die is from Spellbinders.  The sentiment is from Sizzix.  A few sequins were added for sparkle.  I added some highlight edges with a Copic marker.

That is all I have today!  I hope it is a good one.  Having some trees removed this morning.  More dead pines.  Something is killing all of them for sure!

This made top 3 at Cardz 4 Guyz!

Embossing and Watercolor.

This was pure playtime.  Embossing white on white is such a great technique, and I never think of it!  Enter some nice, juicy watercolor paints and you never know what will happen.  My stamps are from Unity Stamp, which I won in a grab bag.  Card stock is In the Navy and Lipstick Red, from Gina K. Designs.  I added a couple of little red heart punches from SU!, and crystal gems as embellishments.  My sentiment was stamped with Memento ink.

I would like to enter this over at Cards in Envy, where the challenge is red and blue.  Also at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge for their Fantastic Florals Challenge.

Thanks for visiting and hope your week is perking along smoothly.

Happy Friday!

Had a visit from my friend Carol, yesterday.  She saw the cards I had been working on, and told me this one was perfect for the Double D Challenge, this week.  It is ric rac-zig zag.  Well, here I am!

The card base is Bazzill card stock called Citron and my designer paper (with zig zags) isfrom Echo Park's Celebrate Easter pad.  Also used were the stitched oval die from MFT, the falling petals embossing folder from SU, and some mini Got Flowers from Prima.  Pearl centers were added.  My arched Easter sentiment is from1994, Annette Allen Watkins.  Yes, I really have quite a few older stamps, but i still pull them out and use them.  Such are my little peeps, which is an unmounted and unknown.

I do so appreciate the time you take to pay me a visit.  Hope you have a fantastic weekend.

This card made top winner at Double D.  Woo Hoo!

Romantic Laundry?

This week at Shopping Our Stash #290, the challenge is to create a romantic card, but use no hearts.  Here is one that is a bit more whimsical, using an older set from There She Goes Stamps.  My papers are from the scrap stash on my desk, and I used a scrap of white to stamp a background of socks.  I used Memento inks and Copic Markers for coloring.  I thought it was perfect for a busy couple celebrating an Anniversary.  No hearts about dirty laundry!

Well we made it to Wednesday, and it looks like a warm up for the weekend.  Woo Hoo!  Make it a good day.

This made top 3 and I am thrilled!

Cute!

This will be my second post for today.  I could not let the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp get away from me, since the theme is CUTE!  Now I know we all have cute stamps, right?  My cute is coming from a Lawn Fawn set called Wheelie Like You.  I cut and stamped a bunch of these when I was visiting my friend Carol for a play date.  Yes, we are old... and yes, we have play dates!  I used assorted card stock pieces, and a scrap of Basic Grey designer paper.  I hand cut the banners and used some long lines of gems, as my embellishments.  Now I think this is cute.

Playing with Gelatos

Today I have a card that was created using Gelatos and a stamp set from SU! called "What I love".

This might be from last years Sale-a-bration.  It looked like it needed some love.  I stamped my outline with Stazon black, applied Gelatos to the solid flower image, spritzed with water and stamped.  The leaves were colored with Copic markers when it dried.  The flower centers looked naked, so I squirted a glob of Glossy Accents on each and patted in seed beads.  3 candy dots were applied after the distressing was complete.

My designer papers are scraps, and were attached in a Wonky fashion.

Hope you have a very relaxing weekend.  I have lots of little projects to complete today.... you know, the things you keep putting off.  Thanks for stopping by.

Winter Blues...(but not winter)

Here is a card that I created for a lady at work, who became a grandma for the very first time.  I remember that feeling from not so long ago.  It is the best feeling in the world.

My card is a CAS one, using Unity Stamps.  My papers are all scraps, and it felt really great to do some paper piecing. I also die cut a few clouds from Memory Box, being sure to add a wee bit of sparkle from some Diamond Stickles.  There are a couple of star sequins holding up my wash line.

I would like ot enter this card over at Shopping Our Stash #289, which is Winter Blues but not winter.
Also I would like to take this over to Pixie's Snippets Playground with #'s 267 and 268, where we are to use snippets, all the time!

It ended up that the wind and cold were worse than the snow storm.  Go figure!  Here is a photo that hubby took after things calmed a bit.  Thanks for the visit!

Pink & Black or Red & Black?

I went with pink & black.  My card is also a study in pattern & texture.  I used mostly scraps to create this card.  The flowers were from Recollections, and the bow was a small piece that needed love.  The stamped sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co, and was in a grab bag that I won.  There is Washi tape, and a diamond embossing folder was used for texture.

This will be entered at Little Red Wagon  #380, color challenge.

We are having a snowy day here in eastern PA.  It is pretty but it will need to be cleaned up quickly, cause they are calling for single digit wind chills tonight and it will be hard as a rock.  Stay warm and happy on this day!

I was honored to have this card featured.  Thanks LRW!

Lots of Red!

Happy Hump Day!  Today I am sharing a Valentine with plenty of red and lots of love oozing from it.
The challenge over at Cuttlebug Mania is  called Roses are Red, and we are asked to use lots of red as the main focus.  Here is what I used:

Paper:  White card bas and extra white scraps for stamping.  My designer background is a digi                         subway print.

Ink:  I used Rhubarb Stalk Memento ink for stamping, and I think it matched my subway print quite           well.

Stamps:  The cellophane bag, the sentiment and the 2 kinds of hearts stamped in the bag, are all                          unknown/unmounted stamps.

I used my Cuttlebug to cut out the stitched oval die used to mount my bag stamp.  I also recycled the ribbon and bow from a recent Christmas card.  The only other touch is a tiny puffed hear stick on.

That is all I have for right now.  Right now we have blasted fog and warmish temps..... as of midnight, we are expecting a major snow storm.  Go figure.  This groundhog is laughing at us big time!

How Tweet It Is!

I found a challenge over at Little Red Wagon #379 with the theme of "How Tweet It Is".  I just love cards with birds, so this was an easy one for me.  My card base is Bazill Mauve, with a layer of Flavia designer card stock.  I used a stitched rectangle die from Lil Inker to make the perfect size panel for my card.  My stamped images are an Itty Bitty set from Unity called Feel the Joy.  I just love this set!  The little die cut bird was done on watercolor paper and was a gift from a friend.  I do believe it is Tim Holtz.

It is quite cool here today.  Did a few chores and a bit of shopping.  Got a couple of projects done I need for next weekend.  I am feeling satisfied with the day and it is only going on 2 pm.  This post is short and sweet so I bid you ado.

Valentine Tags

I had a request from my DD for some help with tags for her office staff.  Each holiday she likes to do a wee bit something special.  Since my grandson has a bigger class this year, she has plenty to do the the little ones there.  So, I took on the task of being tag maker for her.

I knew I wanted a shape so I went through my Spellbinder dies and the Fleur De Lis dies, which I cut and turned on point.  That striped paper is from American Crafts.  I made the same amount of cuts in white for backing.  They were matched and glued together with Tombo.  Next I used my Classic Hearts Spellbinder dies and cut medium size hearts, which I popped up in the center.  They were cut out of paper called Cloisonne by GCD.  I used a stamp form Michael's from the dollar bin for the sentiment and colored the heart and edges with Copic and the centers were sponged with Tattered Rose Distress ink.  I strung each with tri-color bakers twine, added a little Diamond Stickles to the heart.  Found they needed a little something else so I punched 2 small hearts and added clear gems.

Maybe I should use this opportunity to enter these over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which is The Color of Love.

Well, that was my Friday off from work!  I did do a tiny bit of online shopping for some Easter papers and a sloth stamp.  That was fun!  I appreciate your visit, and have a great weekend.
