FwF Day, and A Day of Rest.

Happy Friday!  Can you believe it is the first day of March already?  I have a quick post, with a couple of cards for Friends with Flair.  One uses the Feb 2013 kit, and the other is from March 2012.  Let's do the oldest KOM first.

I have a dear girlfriend who will appreciate this card.  I used markers and colored right on the rubber.  Then I added a couple of banners cut from a country plaid.  The little sticky brad heads are from g.c.d.studios, and their Funhouse Collection.

Card two is a technique I have been seeing lots of where you ink up your acrylic blocks and create a background.  Then you stamp a bold image in black over top.  The typewriter and sentiment are both from the Feb KOM called Let Love Grow.

I like how both of these turned out, and I hope they inspire a wee bit.  I also make an Irish card for the Feb KOM which is in  my previous post, here.  Take a little peek!

That little chick design is super sweet. And the banners with it give it a real country feel, I think. :)

Two wonderful cards, Mary Anne. I love the spring feel to the "chick" card and those plaid banners are so pretty with the brads. Adorable sentiment. You second card really speaks to me as I love that technique and use it quite often. It gives such a unique background to build up from. Hope you enjoy your weekend.

Mary Anne, these are wonderful! Love the plaid banners on that first card (I'm MAD about plaid and love it) and the precious little chicks!
The second card is so creative and pretty. I like the acrylic block stamping and love the typewriter image you used with it! Great cards!

Two more great cards, but I've gotta tell you - that first card does it all for me! I LOVE the cute sentiment and love your CAS version with the plaid flags/banners (I'm never quite sure what to call them). I really like the technique you did on the last card, and I must give that a try one day! Well done!

Great cards, Mary Anne! I can relate to that first card most Fridays! But that second, card is fantastic! I wouldn't have thought to ink up my acrylic block (on purpose, anyway -- it seems I do it by accident quite easily). I love the effect you got with that. Cool! Something else new to try!

I can't decide which one I like best! The first one fits me for the work day I had on Friday! I have done some stamping with background stamps instead of using blocks, but they haven't turned out nearly as nice as yours. Great job on both!
