Art Impressions Challenge #22 Distressing

Hope everyone had a fabulous 4th of July!  The hubby is on vacation this week and we are tackling some big projects around this old house.  I wanted to make sure to get my Art Impressions card finished for this week, so I stole a little time to myself.  It is for Challenge #22, distressing.

My card started with a base of Kraft and my distressed designer papers are from My Mind's Eye.  To get the scissors to work better during distressing edges, I always spritz with a bit of water to dampen them.  The rest I did by tearing.  My Art Impressions stamps used are M1500 Country Window Front and Q1704 Scrappie Front.  I did not have a sentiment that would work for me here, so I had to go with a 1$ one from Michaels.  I used a white gel pen to highlight his eyes and collar after coloring everything with Copics.  My only embellishments are some green DewDrops.

Next, I would like to thank my dear friend Linda Payne, for awarding me this awesome badge.  Doesn't it look luscious?  Since she has awarded it to many of the people I would have, I am kind of at a loss here to come up with 8 people!  Here goes, my sweet blogging friends!

Now I am suppose to tell you 7 things about myself.....hmmmmmm!

1.  I have never flown on a commercial plane.
2.  I was married before.
3.  I love to cook, but now I am not allowed to eat most of it.
4.  I miss my stamping buddy, Denise.  She promises to return after her wedding.
5.  It is very weird having my DH around in the evenings since he quit his PT job.
6.  I love antiques
7.  I am too nervous to try out for a DT.

Okay, that is it.  Ladies, please enjoy your badge!  Have a super day!

What a fabulous card! Love the image and love the window.
I have been on a few DT and I will never do another. Why? It turns into a job, you have to have them ready and done, it takes the fun out of it. I create better when I stamp when I want to stamp. :)

What a cute card! I just love the open window with the happy little dog anxiously awaiting your return home! That's a perfect description of real life when you have a dog:)
Thanks for the award but I'll have to think about this one for a while! I've already told folks so many things about myself, that I doubt they'll be interested in more useless information?! LOL

Your card is wonderful Mary Anne! Goodness, that's a lot of work! Amazing! Thanks so much for the award, I'll grab it and try to come up with 7 things interesting enough about myself to print! lol... I can fully relate to having DT home. Mine has worked out of town, state, or country for a few days a week, to a month at a time for 38 years, and is now home every night. I love it, but it is strange! Now then, why in the world would YOU be nervous to try for a DT? Girl, your work is outstanding! If I can make a team, you could certainly make 10 teams!!!! You rock girl - if there is one that you want to serve on, go for it!!!! Hugs...
