Christmas in July with the Rose's

Here we are at the last Sunday of July, and that means it's time for our Roses to strut their stuff.  This month Connie Rose has asked us to create a Christmas project that is anything but a card.  I have noticed that many blogs are in full swing with Christmas projects, already.  Here at Lakeside Stamping, we are easing in to it slowly.  Maybe it is the heat?

Anyway, I tried to give it a good go.  I started with some nice Lipstick Red Pure Luxury card stock and my Inky Antics treat box stamp X3-10189-X.  You must stamp 2 to complete the box and I did this with Frost White pigment ink from ColorBox.  I then cut out both pieces, scored on the lines, folded and taped the box together with Scor-Tape.

I stamped the box with a small starburst stick stamp from Judith using the Frost White.  I had purchased some adhesive holiday borders today from the Queen & Co booth at a local convention.  I decided to use the pine trees to edge things out.  There are 2 layers of classic oval Nestabilities on the front and back.  These were cut from a deep green and a mottled dp form DCWV.  I found some holiday chipboards in my stash and after adding a large pearl to my closer, the handle was decorated with some red Tulle and a felt snowflake.

See what a good girl I have been to actually produce uneaten Christmas chocolate!  This box will be great for candy, money, or even a special piece of  jewelry!

Please remember to visit the other sweet roses in our bouquet!
