Been Without Power

This first photo, shows the transformer that blew on Wed. morning at 5 a.m.  That is when all the fun began.  I knew we were in trouble when the sky turned total green!

These next photos are showing some of the ice damage.  The neighbor directly across from us lost 100 x more than we did.   My poor white dogwood.  :(

This is how we ate our first dinner.....Weenies in the fireplace!  That was a bright spot!  Glad it's over, and the promise of 2 more storms this week, is getting boring.  Hope to post some new cards soon.

Well I'm happy for you that your power is back on again! At least you had a fireplace to keep warm and cook with! Hang in there for the next 2 on the way. Those weenies roasting reminds me of the good ole days when we used to camp when the kids were little! Got smores? I'll be right over :)

Mary Anne,
I'm so sorry about the destruction. I too hate this when will it ever stop? That fire did look cozy and dinner well you are a genius. Keep your chin GF it can't go on much longer right. I hope not the heat in my car went out.

Glad you got your power back! I've been lucky so far, knock on wood...... We had a few more inches last night and now it's in the balmy low 20's for the day.......I've had enough! Hope you can get back to card making soon, it does provide some mental stress relief from it all.

It is so sad to see all the destruction these storms have caused. I never would have thought of your creative way to fix dinner. Hope the storms go away and your power stays on.

Happy you got your power back. We here in RI have been hit by snow after snow and I am tired of it already :). Love the hot dog cooker.

Mary Anne, so sorry that you have so much destruction and the lost of power could not have been easy for you. I'm glad you got your power back and hope all goes back to normal for you.

Oh Mary Anne, so sad to see the trees broken and down from ice and wind. Glad your power is restored. Fireplace was a blessing, at least you were warm and fed! Weather reports are looking scary again for more ice. We have had more snow this year, just keeps piling up and with no warm days doesn't go anywhere and each day a few more inches....Ugh, .come on Mother nature, bring on Spring!!!

Hugs
Sue

Mary Anne, It's a shame that something that looks so beautiful can be so destructive. I'm sorry to hear about your lost of power but I am glad you were able to cook your wieners. We have been getting the same storms but less accumulation and we have not had as much ice as you wither. I will keep my fingers crossed for you with the upcoming storms. Better stock up on wieners.

I understand. Was out shoveling right after the storm and it was SCARY. Pieces of ice and tree limbs falling all around.. and now more on the way. Just hope our semi flat roof can take it. Stay safe.
