Let's get Krafty

Over on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog, everything is coming up Kraft.  They are also showcasing Memory Box products, so I used my "a little thanks" and "blooming violet" dies from MB.  I found this great distressed, designer paper in my stash, and bits of card stock.  Some of the blossoms I cut twice, and stacked to add some dimension.  Everything was assembled with a Quickie Glue Pen, and pearls are my embellishments.

Card #2 was made because I found this huge stamp hidden in a bin.  It is from Stamps Happen, and is called Le Chanticleer.  Anyone that knows me well, knows I am a sucker for roosters.  I have had this stamp for years, and never knew how to use it.  I stamped over a scrap of designer paper, with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, and then colored the rooster with Copic markers.  I mounted the layer on deep brown card, and then added my embellishments.  They are mesh ribbon, burlap, twine, paper roses, and a small paper tag.  I found a small acrylic stamp for the sentiment, which is joy, because that is what this card brought me!  Di, over at Pixie Snippet's Playground, says she does not mind back linking of a few hours, so I am glad to see I can enter this card over there!

I would also like to enter this card at Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper February Challenge.  I just found this monthly challenge, and it seems as if it will be one I enjoy.  I am such a paper hoarder!

What can I say, except that it is snowing yet again, today!  My kids and grandson were suppose to visit for the first time since Christmas, but we have had to put it off.  Oh well, I would rather they  be safe.  He will just grow a wee bit more until I get to cuddle him!  Thanks for the visit, and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Your first card is great. Love those blue flowers with pearls. They are striking against you paper and the kraft. You second card is YOU. I love that rooster stamped right on the designer paper. I'm sorry you are not getting to see your family, but hopefully the snow will end shortly and maybe next week you can have a visit. Stay warm and safe.

You hit it outta the park again with these 2 cards! The kraft looks so pretty with those brilliant blue flowers, and the rooster card is awesome! I'd be taking that gorgeous bird card over to the snippets playground! 2bad your DD and DGS couldn't travel and visit, but who'd want to in this winter weather?! I agree- better to stay safe at home!

Both your cards are very nice. The top one has a bit of an oriental feel to it. I have to laugh that Simon Says is doing kraft... again. It is very popular amongst challenges lately and kraft just makes me weep. You've done well with it. Your snippets card is great. I recognized that rooster right off as one I almost bought not too long ago. I opted not to because of the size... so big. I liked that you stamped him on patterned paper (that's why at first I wasn't sure it was the same stamp).

Absolutely brilliant! Such great use of snippets too - I love that rooster :)

And as you say, a bit of backlinking is always fine with me.

Sorry I'm behind with commenting!
