A New Year

Hope everyone has had a great start to their 2016.  I am on week 3 of this nasty congestion and crud.  Did a whole round of antibiotics, missed lots of work, and ache from laying around.  Guess it will go in it's own good time.

So, that is why I am still posting a holiday card.  It just never got posted.  I used the Itty Bitty Unity set called Elf Christmas, by Angie.  Created the striped background using the baby wipe and re-inker on glossy cardstock techniques.  I just love to create multiple backgrounds for uses when I do it.  The coloring was done with Copic markers and stamping and sponging was done with Gumball Green ink from SU!.  The designer papers are all scraps and for embellishments, I used red gems, and a yo-yo that was pre-made.  A SU! punched border completes the scene.

If you have a chance, please go hop along with all the Unity peeps.  They always offer such great inspiration.  Plus, they have extended the hop until Sunday night!

Oh, this is lovely. Such a fun card. I don't have the elf legs and you make me regret again that it didn't slip into my basket. Really cool. Happy New Year and hope you are feeling better soon. Hugz

Happy New Year Mary Anne. I apologize for not doing much visiting for the past two weeks, just life getting in the way. Love the way you made your own stripped paper. The image is darling and that yo yo is looks to be saying Let's get this New Year rolling off to a good start. Enjoy your weekend and feel better very soon.

This is such a cute card with that elf image and pun, but the cute embellishment with the gem reminds me of a mini hot water bottle - something you may just need with that nasty crud that won't go away!
