Pet Sympathy

I always hate when I have to make this type of card.  It was sad news for my Godson and his wife, who had to put down their loving pug last night.  They are just inconsolable.  I will wait a day or so, and send this off.  I know that Turk will be enjoying a good romp over the rainbow bridge.

The card was made with a black base, a layer of kraft, and a scrap of unknown designer paper.  I used a new Darice die to cut the branch, also from a scrap, and added peach buttons to look like fruit or flowers.  All stamps, other than the AI grass, are from my Sweet 'n Sassy Puppy Love stamp set.  They were stamped in Versafine Onyx ink.   I decided to add a scrap of mocha ribbon that I saved from a store bought card. :)

Since I used up a pile of bits, I will take this over to Pixie's Snippets Playground #186

Have a blessed day, and thanks for stopping by today.  It cooled some, so there is a bit more energy to be had.

Really beautiful card Mary Anne - such a great idea how you used the buttons. How sad though about Turk - they do take a bit chunk of our hearts with them :(

Hugs

I'm sorry you had to make this kind of card, but it turned out to be so serene and beautiful with the branches and buttons! I'm sure this will bring comfort to the "parents" of Turk.

It's always so hard to lose a pet as I well know. We just had to put our cat down yesterday. They really do leave paw prints on our heart. Your card is so beautiful and know they'll treasure this and remember Turk forever.

So very pretty & perfect for the occasion that you need it for. Love the blossoms on the tree and that little puppy just waiting underneath it. The grass grounding the little pup looks so good and the sentiment is spot on! Congrats on your Snippets Playground win too! TFS & have a great wkend.
