This Little Piggie.......

Good morning, friends!  I am back from my weekend adventures.  Still a little tired, so I was really glad that I found these piggies stacked on my desk, waiting to be photographed.

I used scraps from my bin, Copic markers for coloring, and a digital sentiment.  The pigs in a basket stamp is from Stamp Me Tender.  Aren't they cute?  I added a happy birthday sentiment to the inside.  I will add these to my OWH box.

These will be entered over at the Simon Says Stamp Blog, where the challenge this week is  Anything Goes.

Just a quickie!  Hope all is well in your little part of the world.  Thanks for stopping by.

Friends with Flair and OWH Mid-Week Throwdown

Hello Friends!  It's a glorious Friday afternoon, and I have a busy weekend on the way.  There is another baby shower for my DD, tomorrow.  Then I get to help her organize the nursery!  Woo Hoo.

I wanted to be sure to get my Flair post up on the Unity Blog, and since time is limited, I combined it with the Mid-Week Throw down, over on the OWH Stars and Stamps Blog.  That theme is called "It's About Time".

My first card uses Webster Pages designer paper, and stamps from 3 different Unity KOM .  The mustache stamp is from this months kit called "You Make My Heart Puffy".  The dad stamp is from 4-2011, and the time flies stamp is from 11-2011. I added ribbons and a flat back brad as embellishments.

Card two is a CAS card, uses Baja Breeze ink, the time flies stamp, again, and a row of clocks from the 11-2011 KOM at Unity.  I stamped a clock stamp from Inkadinkado, which has positional hands, paper pieced the center, and coated it in Glossy Accents.

Have a wonderful weekend, and I do appreciate when you stop by for a visit!

A Bugs Life

That is the name of the Mid-Week Throwdown , over on the Stars and Stamps Blog.  I thought this came out pretty cute.  Love the little buzzin bees!

My image is pre-colored clipart from my stash.  I used a scalloped oval SB to cut it out, can sponged with spun sugar Distress Ink.  My papers are from My Minds Eye, happy day pad.  The sentiment is a digi from Create with TLC.  I added assorted gems and flowers, with a few MS branch punches thrown in.

Short and sweet post, this morning.  I have to get myself to work.  We started a time trial this week, and we are struggling to make quota.  Have a wonderful day, my friends!

OWH Sketch #169

Today is sketch day over on the Stars and Stamps Blog.  This weeks sketch is sponsored by Doodle Pantry.  I just happen to a a few Doodle Pantry images, so I got to work creating a couple of cards.  It was a fun sketch to work with.

My first card uses a pre-colored, DP image, Called Happy Birdie.  I also found a cute DP sentiment that worked well.  My papers are all from the scrap bin.  I used Spellbinders dies to cut out my images, and added a K&Co. flower as one of my circles.

Card two uses papers also from my stash and a turtle image from Doodle Pantry called Turtle
Hello, as well as one of their sentiment.  My embellishments were from Stampin Up!  hardware.

I just realized I totally ignored the little ruffled edge on the bottom of the sketch.  Grrrr!  Wherever did that come from?

It was a pretty day today, here in PA.  Hope you got to do something enjoyable.  See you soon.

A First Anniversary!

Has it really been a year since my DS and his beautiful bride said "I Do".  Here is a card that I came up with, using my Raisin Boat, Birthday Brewing set.  This mug stamp had a center opening, so I decided I wanted to do a reverse and add the Mr. and Mrs.  Well, I don't own a reverse stamp, but I recently ran across a tutorial over at OWH, Stars and Stamps Blog, showing how you can make it work. The mug with mrs. is the reverse one.

Here is the stamp I used.  I filled in all the spaces with a black Zig pen.  Coloring was then done with Copic markers.  I followed the directions from the tutorial, and it worked out well.  Not perfect, but acceptable.  My papers are from My Minds Eye, Happy Day collection.  I found a digi in my stash, that I took into a program, and added the 1st to.  I added some Crystal Effects to parts of the mugs, to add some shine, and pearls to the corners to dress things up.

That is it for me right now.  Thanks for taking a peek.  Check out the tutorial on the Stars and Stamps blog, if you get a chance.

Good Morning, FwF Lovers!

Friday mornings are a real favorite around here.  That is when I get to participate in the Unity, Friends with Flair linky party.  So happy that my April KOM has arrived, and I was able to start creating with it.  Since I was so wrapped up in my DD's shower, this past weekend, I did not get to do as much creating as I usually do.  I took a quick survey of my card bins, and realized I am lacking in wedding cards.  Well, this new kit can fix that right up!

Here is what I used:

Card stock:  Pure Luxury from Gina K. Designs
Designer paper:  Also from Gina K.
Dies:  Spellbinders Labels Two
Punches:  Punch-A-Bunch Lg. and Sm. fern
Copic markers:  C1 & C3
Ink:  Memento London Fog

I hope that whatever you have planned for the weekend is fun, fun, fun!  Thanks for stopping around.

Woof!

I had made a couple of cards to add to my Operation Write Home box, and I just wanted to share them.  These are for no special challenge, just made on a whim.  I hope that some Hero finds them cute enough to share with his loved ones.

I recently purchased a few Inky Antics stamp sets, and this one called Delightful Dogs, is a favorite.  Most of my papers are just scraps from my bin and coloring done with Copics.  I created flag banners on the one, and used a grass die and skyline die, on the other. There was an EF used, also.  The dies are from MFT Die-namics.  I added some bling, with some Queen and Co. gems.

Okay, my friend Carol talked me into entering this second doggie over at Simon Says Stamp.  The theme is Travel/ Cityscapes.  Thanks for the heads up, Carol!

That's it for now.  I am off to work for a bit.  I just want to send prayers to Boston, and now West, TX,  and the devastating factory blast they are dealing with today.  Bless you all.

April Showers

I asked my DD if was okay to share a few photos from her shower, yesterday.  She is not a real big fan of Facebook posts but said I could add a few here.

The little baby doll coach was a recycle from when Denise was born! I loaded it with gifts to surprise her. We created the favors using a digi we found online, and a sentiment from SU!.  Her theme for the nursery is kind of woodsy, with owls, and trees, and other forest animals.

Here is my beautiful daughter!  She is just glowing!  Six more weeks?  I am betting not!

The happy parents finally told us the name that they have chosen for our grandson, so we were all very excited!  His name will be Brian.  :)

Look at the gorgeous baby blanket that a dear friend has made!  Now that is beautiful!

This little fellow will surely not go naked!  He received such wonderful clothing, toys, and things to help mommy take care of him!  We are all so blessed by the kindness of our friends and family.  It is going to be the best time of our lives.  We will be called Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop.   My best girlfriend was so excited about a baby coming, that she started shopping last fall.  Denise just kept opening, and opening, and opening.....  Yep, we are excited around here!

Her MIL is hosting another shower in NJ, in 2 weeks, but if she gets too excited, the hospital is right down the street!   Thank you all for asking and caring.  Please say a prayer that labor and delivery goes smoothly.

What's Brewing?

Morning everyone!  I wanted to share a couple of cards that I made recently.  I found this newly released stamp set, over at a stamp company called Raisin Boat.  It is called Birthday Brewing.  I knew when I saw it, that I needed it for some manly cards.  One lady at work, jumped right on me and asked for one for her son's 30th birthday.

Next was my DS's birthday this week, and he loves a good micro-brewery, with all of their fun flavors!  So his had to have the birthday taps.

Be sure to check out this fun stamp company, as they have a new concept.  For a fee, you can rent stamp sets!  Stamp to your hearts content, my friends, and then return!  No more clutter!   You may also buy outright, and they do take PayPal!

P.S.  My DD's shower was amazing!  I hope she allows a
few photos posted here!

TGIF!

Well, the weekend has finally arrived, for my DD's baby shower!  I have been planning for so long that I can't believe it is finally here!  I was also suppose to go to a local stamp show today, before the festivities begin, but the weather is so poor, that I am just going to skip it.  :(

The card I have created is from Unity's September 2010 Store Kit, called Bold Insight.  I just love that I can grab any past kit and just start making something!  I have been stuck on the color coral, lately.  When Ii found it gorgeous Wild Asparagus paper scrap in my bin, I just had to play with that coral color.  I used Calypso Coral ink, from SU!,  for my images.  My dragonfly is covered in Crystal Effects, fussy cut and popped up.  My little flower punches, are topped off with turquoise brads, and my panel is wrapped with bakers twine.

I have been going through my 12x12 papers, and cutting the smaller patterns into quads.  I seem to use them so much more, with them being handy.  I also share the quads with friends, so we all have some fun papers!

So, this is my entry for Friends with Flair.  Please be sure to visit the Unity blog, and show some love for the other bloggers who linked!

I will also be entering this on the OWH site for the Our Daily Bread monthly sponsored challenge.  Linking up a card can help to defray costs of shipping boxes of cards to our Hero's.  This month the challenge is "Things That Fly".

Thanks for stopping around, and have a fantastic weekend!

OWH Sketch #167

Hello, fellow Bloggers!  I am not sure how often I will get to post this week, since next weekend has lots going on, around here.   I was able to spend some time stamping this past Sunday, and  was playing around with the sketch from Operation Write Home.  It was a fairly simple one, however I did take a few liberties with it.  Here is what it looks like.

My first card uses scraps, and stamps from one of my all time favorite stamp companies.  I got an email stating that they will be at a local stamp show this weekend, and I can't wait to see what's new.  I am talking about Stamps by Judith.  This is one of the very first stamp companies I started collecting back in the day.  Judith likes to color with Tombow markers, and I tried to hold true to her style, but I just had to add some sponging and Copic colors.

My second car is again using scraps of a double sided papers called Smitten from K&Co., some Cocoa card, and a sticker from Marcerlla, that was staring at me from a bin.  My Mother's Day sentiment is from Clear Dollar Stamps.

The third, and final card, is one I strayed with.  I did a rectangle instead of the sketch circle.  The carrots and grass are also from Stamps by Judith, and I found a really old sentiment stamp from D.O.T.S., which is now Close To My Heart.  Too funny, what we can dig up!

That's it for me.  I had a real blast playing with these great old stamps.  Hope all is well in your part of the world.  Thanks for stopping!

Friday Friends with Flair

Good Morning!  It is Friday, so it must be time for Friends with Flair.  Sure hope this posts well, as it looks like Blogger is changing things up here, where I type.  Sure wish they would leave things be.

Be sure to check out all of the great works for the week, over on the Unity Blog.  If you have something to share, link it up.  If not, be sure to check out the others that are sharing and comment along the way.  Which ever.... you may just win a prize!

My card today uses the April 2011 KOM, called "Small Things Matter Most".  I just love the harlequin background stamp, and the bird on the branch is too tweet!  My ink and card stock is coral, with a few little spots of color.  I used a Dotted Swiss embossing folder from Cuttlebug, and some twine, with a button.

Thanks for stopping around, and have a fabulous weekend!

Trying To Catch Up!

Happy Easter Monday, and it is also April Fool's.  My DH is home today, so I am surprised I have not been on the receiving end of a prank!  I just wanted to do a quick post with a couple of Easter creations, before it is but a distant memory.

My cards are made with the SU! stamp called Ears To You!  I just love it!  I orrowed this one from a crafty friend, but my own should be arriving today!  Woot!  I have seen this used as an adorable baby card, also.  I forgot to mention that the flourishes were made with sponging the negative pieces left from Cheery Lynn's Fanciful Flourish die.

Next up is an Easter bucket with tag that I made for my 2 yr. old nephew.  I borrowed the bunny dies from the same crafty friend, and cut some in assorted colors.  I believe she said they were from Amuse. I also used the Die-namics Fresh Cut Grass die from MFT Stamps, along with some Prima flowers and pearls. Other tags were for the new twin girls, Easter gifts.  These identical cuties, were born into the family on January 31st.   Got to hold the tiny little sweethearts on Easter.

It was great practice for my GS's arrival which will be in 8 short weeks.  I  got to see his nursery, on Easter, and everything is just perfect!  Mom-to-Be is getting a bit tired, and I hope to get new progress reports today, after all the Dr. visits!  Can you tell I am just a little excited?  The next few weeks will be full of showers and preparing.  What fun!

Well that is it for me, Hope everyone had a joyful holiday, and heeded my candy advise from the previous post.  LOL!  Today is going to be a day of rest, with a little crafting thrown in  for fun.
