Joan's Gardens Card Challenge #5

It's that time again! Joan has graced us with another fun recipe to follow for her card challenge. Make sure you go check out her pretty example, and all of the pretty cards added to the gallery.

The recipe is as follows:

1. Use Coral/pink and Green for your colors
2. A Birthday Sentiment
3. Vintage Paper
4. Handmade or Punch flower

I used Pure Luxury card stocks and a layer of vintage paper from K&Co by Brenda Walton. My pink layer is embossed with a Sizzix EF, and highlighted with pink grapefruit VersaMagic ink. I love that color and go to it often as it is between a pink and a coral, and goes so well with many papers. I added stitching, crochet lace, and a satin cording. My sentiment is on a Nestie oval and is one of my favorites to use for a birthday. A simple HB on the inside is all that is needed.

Okay, so what were the odds that I had coral tulle in my stash? I started playing with it to see if I could form a flower, and this is what I came up with. I punched a 1" circle from heavy cs and then used a hole punch in the center. I cut off a length of tulle and threaded it through a large eyed embroidery needle. at first I looped it tightly around the open circle. On my last row around, I left larger, puffy loops, securing everything with a pearl and metal brad from MM. I tucked in some felt leaves and secured it to the card with large Glue Dots.

Thanks for taking a look!

I feel like I should change my name to Patti/Patty in order to comment! *snort*
Seriously, your card is so pretty! I spent a good hour pondering pinks and greens for this challenge and ended up walking away and doing nothing! None of my colors looked good together, so I did a few scrapbook pages instead :)

Here's another non-Patti/Patti posting! Your card is stunning and that tulle flower is just gorgeous. Looks like you had to spend big bucks for it at a boutiue!
