Another Wonderful Friday with Friends!

It's that time again!  Time to put up a post for Friends with Flair, over on the Unity blog.  Angela is also running another fantastic sale this week, so be sure to check that out, also.

Todays card just kind of happened.  I used the July KOM, and lots of scraps.  The card stock base is Moonlit Fog, from Gina K. Designs. There are also scraps of Cocoa, White, and a designer scrap from Wild Asparagus.  My image were stamped in Memento ink, directly onto the designer paper, and then re-stamped on white, with the leaves being cut out and paper pieced.  I added tiny white pearls to the centers of the tiny flowers that were made with  my SU! itty Bitty shape punch.  Color was added with Copic to the edges of the leaves, and then Diamond Stickles were put over it to add sparkle.  I also added some Gina K. Designs stitched ribbon.  The sentiment was cut with a SB scalloped oval.  One last thing... I have wanted a SU! scalloped border punch forever.  I was able to score one this past weekend, from a friend who is cleaning up her supplies.  That made me so happy!

Since I used lots of bits from my desktop, I would also like to enter this over at Pixie's Snippets Playground, this week.  You must go check out all of the fine work done at the playground.

I am staying home from work today, until I can get my Carpel Tunnel surgery scheduled.  I had hoped to wait until fall, but that is not going to happen.  It is silly to stay in pain if it can be resolved.

Friends with Flair

Happy Friday!  Today's card for Friends with Flair, over on the Unity blog, was done using a past kit of the month.  It was the April 2014 KOM, called Botanical Bliss.  My card base and designer paper are both out of my scraps.  I used Prima flowers, with an assortment of centers including brads and button.  There was some sparkle added using a Stardust pen.  Coloring was done with Copic markers.

Thanks for the visit, and I  appreciate each and every comment.

Mouse in a Plane!

Since I had to have most things shut down, last night, due to storms in the area, I decided to play at my table with a new die I recently purchased.  This card sort of just happened.

I started with a white base, added designer paper from Doodlebug Designs, and an embossed panel of clouds, which I made up during a visit to my DD's craft room.  Then came my new airplane die which is a Die-namics from MFT.  I decided to cut it out 3x so that I could off set layers and give it a little more dimension with the colors.  Next came my little clouds which I popped up on dimensionals.  The background and clouds were sponged with Smoky Slate ink.

The next dilemma was who should drive the plane!  As I went through my stash of critters, I was so hoping I could insert a Weenie dog, but nope.  I came across a Cocoa mouse set from Sweet n Sassy, and decided here was my victim.  This Cocoa was from the set called Springtime Cocoa, as is the sentiment.  I colored him with Copic markers and planted him in the plane.

When I bought the airplane die, I was surprised at how large it was, when it arrived!  Since I work in mostly A2 size, I was not able to fly the banner behind the plane!

Since all of the die cuts and clouds were made from snippets in the scrap bin, I am entering this card over at Pixie's Snippets Playground.

We are expecting more storms today, so I will be in and out.  I am ready for the cooler weather which is on it's way.  Whatever you do today, be safe and enjoy!

You are my sunshine!

Just a quick post of a Unity card I made this morning.  This uses the July KOM from Unity.  My inks are River Rock and Pool Party from SU!  I even snuck in a few Copic colors on the flower/sun.

There are Stickles Diamond for sparkle, and some paper scrap banners, and amber pearls for embellishments.   I popped the front panel off the base.

Not much else going on.  I appreciate the visit.  It has been so hot here, there is not much motivation.  Strong storms are in the forecast for the latter part of the day.

Let's Be Clear

Today I have a card to share that is for 2 challenges.  The first challenge is the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, and that is where I got the title for my post.  It is let's be clear because you are to use some clear or see through on your card.  My second challenge is Pixie's Snippets Playground, Week # 133, since I have all kinds of bits to create this card collage.  Let me explain.......

Last week, I was trying to make room on my work surface.  I came across little ziplocks stuffed with all kinds of printed bits, stamped images, die cuts and little gifts.  They had been accumulating for eons, and it's not that they are unloved, but I just don't create fast enough!  I tend to box myself in to have things close.

I am going to explain where each thing has come from:

*My card base, camera charm, and swirly clip came as a gift in one of my Unity KOM sets.
*The scrap of designer paper is from Studio Calico.
*My clear panel is from a package of embossing folders, and is run through the CB with the  stone wall EF.
*My brads are from Gina K. Designs, and were included in one of their KOM.
*The Sprocket and Feather die cuts were cut with my friend Carol's dies.   I also used her SU! oval punches to create the background  for my sentiment.
*The sentiment stamp is from Clear Dollar Stamp,
*As for the printed postcard and scene, they were also a gift, and I believe they are Crafty Secrets.

I rubbed down lots of the pieces with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

Well, there you have it.  By the time I got through putting all the little bags of this and that in a tub I had an 11x14 tub heaped with stuff ready to go on cards.  I need to use these goodies!

So happy to have you visit!

Friends with Flair

Here we are heading into another weekend, and I wanted to be sure and get a post in for this weeks Friends with Flair.  My new July Kit of the Month has arrived.  Unity seems to outdo themselves with each new kit that is released.

For this card I used a white base with Designer paper from Crate Paper's Fourteen collection.  I also used a new die from MFT called oval chain border.  I swapped out the negative pieces for a different effect.  My image and sentiment were stamped in Memento ink and the image was colored in Copic marker.  Glossy accents were applied to the heart and shutter. For embellishment, I used a bakers twine bow, and tiny crystal stars from Recollections.  The camera was popped with foam mounting tape.

It seems there are a few technical issues with the links over on the Unity Blog, but you can get the direct link from the archives on the side bar.

Have a fantastic July weekend, and thanks for stopping around.

Shake It!

This morning, I had a little time to create, before work.  One of the challenges that peaked my interest this week, is one from Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  They want us to make a shaker card.  I have not made many of these, but I am rather please with how this came out.

I used SU! By the Tide stamp set.  Sentiment is A Muse
Inks- Memento Rich Cocoa, Hero Arts Unicorn White
I used a shaker template stamp- Sorry, it's so old I can't read the maker.
Card Stock-  white and rich brown
Designer Paper- Studio Calico Here and There
Embellishments- silver and gold sequins, and hemp twine

Hope you like what I came up with.  Have a happy Monday, and thanks for visiting!

Red, White, and Blue!

I sure hope I am getting this posted in time!  Had a visitors this weekend, and just got a minute to create.  Unity is having a little R,W,&B challenge over on FB, and since I missed posting for Friends with Flair this week, I did not want to miss this also.   My card uses the April 2013 KOM from Unity, called "You Make My Heart Puffy".  I just love this little panda stamp and great geometric border!  I decided to make it a special dad card.

My designer paper is from Little Yellow Bicycle.  The inks are Midnight Muse and Real Red, from SU!.  I used a piece of Herringbone twill as a banner, and that was a gift from Unity.  For embellies, I used a Dew Drop, and sequins.

I hope everyone had a safe 4th of July celebration!  Friday was fairly quiet, but we had a wonderful cookout on Saturday.  Can you guess who came to visit?  I would like to share a little patriotic photo, of my dear grandson, Brian!  I could just eat him up!  He was so much fun, and we expect hands free walking any day.

I got the final word from my hand specialist on Thursday, and I was told that my Tunnel business is severe, which is not what the nerve Dr. told me.  I will be having surgery in the fall, before it gets any worse.  Until then, I will post as often as I can.
