Just A Little Flair!

Happy Friday, all!  Here is a quick post, to join in the Unity Friends with Flair fun.  Today's card uses the May KOM, called Totally and Utterly Amazing.  I used some rich cocoa card for my base, followed by a cute designer paper which is unknown.  I stamped my image and sentiment in Memento Inks and added some color with Copic BG10.  I decided to add some fun metal brads to finish things off.  They are from K&Co.

My second card uses stamps from the April Unity KOM, and I used the camera, border, and sentiment.  My black ink is Memento, and the rest is from an old set of dauber inks from Fiber Scrap.  The designer paper is from Wild Asparagus, seafoam twine is American Craft, and the tiny stars are from a die called holiday shapes.  It is MemoryBox for SSS.  I also added some Sakura Stardust pen for a bit of sparkle. I even added little jelly bumps to the camera lenses.

I would like to enter this over at Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog for this weeks challenge, called Take A Picture!

Hope everyone has a fantastic Memorial weekend.  It should be a very quiet one around here, unless my sweet grandson makes an appearance!  Thanks for stopping by.

OWH Catch Up Post

Good morning, friends.  I am so far behind, that I thought I better do a post.  I am going to try and catch up with my Operation Write Home challenges. I will do them oldest to newest.

Sketch 172 on the Stars and Stamps Blog is as follows:

I used a kraft base with a floral scrap layer.  The Dotted Swiss EF was used on my orange layers.  The fox image is an oldie from PSX, colored in Copics, and sponged with VersaMagic ink.  I created my sentiment with an SU circle punch and the Petite Curly Label with stamp.

My Mid-Week Throwdown card is for the So Sentimental Challenge.

I used Memory Box designer paper, layered on white card.  I paper pieced a Memory Box, Fresh Daisies die, and applied it over my sentiment by Stampendous.  The sentiment was cut out with a Spellbinders Scalloped Square die and sponged with SU! So Saffron ink.

Next up is the current sketch at Stars and Stamps, #173.

This card started with layers of cranberry and white, a piece of unknown digital paper, and a rustic tag.  I created my embellishment with a SU! 7/8 Scalloped Circle, Prima, and silver brad.  I added hemp twine to my tag.  The sentiment is from Amuse, and my Copic colored doggie is from Inky Antics.

Well I feel like I am forgetting something, but I guess not.  Still on baby watch around here.  Doctor has still not made a decision as to how this child will be born.  It is very hard to concentrate on crafting, work, and everything else.  Come on, sweet grandson!

I also want to send out prayers for the victims of yesterdays deadly tornado in OK.  My heart truly aches for all of you.

Friends with Flair

Happy Friday morning, my fine blogging friends!  It is time for my Friends with Flair post, and a little reminder that there are lots of great bargains over on the Unity website!  Be sure to visit all of the special designers that have linked in to show you their flair.  They are sure to inspire you!

Today's card uses the newest KOM from Unity, called "Totally and Utterly Amazing".  It has vintage, dads, grads, summer, and lots of yummy sentiments!  I focused right in on the big juicy strawberry, for today's card.  It is a rather CAS card, which is colored with Copic markers.  There is black and white card stock, gingham ribbon, a Prima flower with a brad.  Easy- peasy!

That's it for me, right now.  Hope all is well with each and everyone of you.  We are still on "baby watch" around here, but I will be sure to let you all know when things happen.

P.S.  please ignore this silly black bar that showed up on the bottom of my edited photo.  Just another one of those things that are so annoying.  I re-edited and it won't let me add it. Ugh!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge.... Things with Wings.

Good morning, my blogging friends.  I found an image I had stamped at a get- together, many moons ago, and decided to make it into a card for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge.  When I stamp images ahead, I usually write lightly in pencil the makers name.  This one, however, is blank.  I thought it would make a neat masculine card.

I started with a white card base.  I found this great piece of digital paper I had printed out, cut and embossed Puffy Clouds from Memory Box, popping some on foam tape  My sentiment is from the May KOM at Unity.  I applied a little Glossy Accents to the heart, and used Memento London Fog to distress the clouds.  Copic markers were used to color my image.

It's been a wee bit stressful, being on Grandbaby watch.  She is at the Dr. this morning, and hopefully we have some new news.  He seems to be quite the acrobat!  I am hoping to get back into a more routine stamping pattern, after his arrival.  Until later, have a great w
eek!

OWH MId-Week Throwdown His and Hers

This week, we were asked to create and "His and Hers" version of a card.  If you would like to see what everyone has come up with, visit the Stars and Stamps Blog, here.

My card uses designer paper from the Tim Holtz, Vintage Shabby pack.  I also used Distress Inks, and mini Texture Fades to create my card embellishments.  The diagonal borders are from K&Co., and I added threaded buttons as embellishments.  The sentiment is from Unity KOM for 2-13.

Not much else going on around here.  In case I don't get back here this weekend, let me wish all of the special Mother's in my life, a very happy weekend.

OWH VCMP 5, 6, 7, and a Bonus!

Let me first apologize for this lengthy post.  I do want to get all of the challenges entered on time.  Since I am on grand baby watch, I do not like leaving loose ends.  It was a fun weekend of making cards and being a rebel!

Here is card #5, which follows this weeks sketch # 171 on the Stars and Stamp Blog.  I decided to do a children's birthday card, and created a clown with punches.  My sentiment is from Scrappy Cat, and my designer papers are from Bo Bunny's Surprise pad.

Here is the sketch we are following.

Card #6 is brought to us by Julie.  We are asked to create a card using a photo that we took, ourselves.  I used one of my grand-puppy, Herbie, when he was a bit younger.  My sentiment is one that I won from Great Impressions.  All of my papers are scraps (yay!), and a button/flower embellishment from K&Co. finished it off.

Card #7 brings us the challenge to create a "Summertime" card.  Thanks, JoAnn!  You gave me the drive to pull out some stamps that have not seen the light of my desk, for a long time!  I found some paper in my bin that reminded me of a pool liner.  Woo hoo! My lady floating on a raft, is from Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers.  I Distress Inked the background, added some water ripples with an unknown stamp, and added touches of Copic marker and white gel pen.  The sentiment is from Stampa Rosa.

Just when I thought I had completed the challenges, Sandy came back with a BONUS!  It is to create a card with Google Eyes!  Well, here is what I came up with.  It uses a digital image, which is unknown, a computer generated sentiment, which ends on the inside with "Blow Bubbles".  The papers are all from my scrap bin.  (More used up pieces).  I did add stickles to the bubbles, but it is sealed in with Glossy Accents.

Thanks for all of the fun and inspiration!   Had a blast.  Not quite sure what my editing program decided to do on some of the photos, but the black bar will not go away.

OWH VCMP #3 and #4

Morning, everyone!  It is another glorious day here in PA.  Since I have jumped into this card party with both feet, let me continue.  Please visit the OWH, Stars and Stamps Blog for all of the details.

Card 3 was completed before I went to bed last night, but I figured I would save it to join Card 4.  For this challenge, Sandy has asked us on her blog, to create a LOVE card.  There was a twist to use one of the OWH Tutorials.  I used one all the way at the bottom on making your image pop on pattern paper.

I used a white card base, with a scrap of Wild Asparagus paper that I just love.  I found this pretty rose and flourish stamp on my desk.  They were in a grab bag of stamps I bought at a show, from Inky Antics.  My coloring was done with Copics.  As for the sentiment, I dug into my latest Unity KOM.  I took a premade silk rose, and colored it to match as well as my fake brads from Candi.

The inside of my card has a great love sentiment from Unity, that I wanted to be sure to share.

Card Four gave me a struggle, as I have not scrapbooked in years, but I found a layout on Page Maps, and decided it would work for a card.  here is my sketch.

I used a navy base card from AMuse, added lots of scraps from my bin cut into flags and pennants, and added a border punched with an MS border punch.  I added a row of faux stitching and some crystal stars for embellishments.  The "thanks" sentiment is a new Memory Box die, I have wanted to try.  To see the rest of the entries for Card Four, visit Nancy's Blog.

Plan on my return, later today, when the last three challenges are posted, and I have time to create.  Thanks for stopping by.

OWH..... NSD....VCMP... Get it?

Here are my first two entries for the Virtual Card Making Party, to celebrate National Scrapbook Day, over on the Operation Write Home blog.

My first card is for the monthly challenge that is sponsored by Our Daily Bread, each month.  We have been asked to create a card with a "Missing You" theme.  I used an ODB stamp called The Sea.  I did not have a sentiment by them so I used one from Great Impressions.  I stamped the image with Versafine ink, clear embossed, and colored with Copic marker.  My sky was done with Iced Spruce Distress Ink.  For embellishments, I tattered some burlap, added hemp bows, and a brass boat charm.

Card two is to create a child's card, after we find a sketch to follow.  This card is for an older child, which will bring a hug and a smile. My sketch is from Mojo Monday.  I kind of ran with it (wink).  This card will be linked at Paula's Blog.

I went with bright colors for my base and designer paper.  The sentiment is one of those great kid quote stamps from Inkadinkado.  The hugging dog and kitty are from Stampendous.  I added a tiny sentiment to the animals, and that was from Inky Antics, punched with an SU mini punch.  My only embellishments are brads.

Sure can't wait to see what the next couple of challenges will bring.  This is my first time playing a VCMP!  See you again, soon!

A Little Friday Flair......

Happy last day of the week.  With being away until Monday night, the week has just zoomed.  I was able to get a couple cards created during the evenings, but not many.  Here are two I made with this months Unity KOM.  Please be sure to pay visits to all of the wonderful paper crafters, that link up for Friends with Flair, over on the Unity Blog.

Card one uses the adorable panda stamp that was included in kit.  My color scheme is Wild Wasabi, and So Saffron. The designer paper is from Webster Pages.  I added a paper doily, mini Prima flowers, green ribbon, and gold half beads as embellishments.

I would also like to enter this first card over on the Stars and Stamps Blog, for their Mid Week Throw down, which is Thank You cards.

My second card is for this busy wedding season.  I white embossed the wedding bells from the kit, and then layered on Old Paper, and Peacock Feather Distress Inks.  I actually let a few sharp edges happen on purpose, so it would look like fabric layers.  My designer paper is from my scrap bin, as is the teal card stock.  I stamped my sentiment with DI, also.  Teal half pearls, and tiny gems were added for that special glitz.

That is all I have for you today.  Have a glorious weekend, wherever you are.  We are expecting a real beauty!
