Trying Trigger Tuesday Challenge

I have never done the Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab World, so now is as good a time as ever. I just loved the inspiration piece that they had for us to play from! We are all dreaming of Spring and those soft Eastery colors. I'm so ready!

I was starting to get carried away with this creation, me thinks. I used papers from Tim Coffey's Super K collection at K&Co. I did lots of cutting and piecing and popping for dimension. My stamps are from Nina Brackett's new Lovely Labels stamp set over at Gina K. Designs. As I am still gathering cards to send to the Dragonfly Card Drive, over at Taylored Expressions, I just had to add one of those little critters also. I added Stickles, Kaiser pearls, and MS branch punches as my accents.I hope you enjoy what I made tonight, and that you stop back again soon.

Just a little after note...... It came to my attention after posting, that one of my pearls went rogue and stuck to my shirt during it's photo shoot. He was captured and returned to his proper home.

A New Sketch at CPS

This may seem silly, but I get flustered when I have to make cards that are odd sizes. Isn't that funny? Well, this week at Card Positioning Systems, they have a sketch that has me making a tall narrow card.

My base card is made from Pure Luxury, soft sand card stock from Gina K. Designs. All other papers are from Brenda Walton's, Maison collection from K&Co. The stamp set I chose is Nina Brackett's, Lovely Shelf, which she designed a couple months ago for GKD. Some simple coloring and 2 gems, complete this simple work.

SFYTT Cosmo Dragonfly

Today I have played with a sketch challenge from the I Heart 2 Stamp site. They have amazing blog candy with sketches (SFYTT) every Saturday in February. I got in on this a wee bit late but hey, I got one done on time!

This was created using Cosmo Cricket papers. I just love this collection. I am sorry, but I do not know the name of it. There was a 9000 piece kit that my DD bought for me at the Tuesday Morning outlet. The whole thing is lots of coraly reds and teals. How fun is that? I added grosgrain ribbons and some diamond Stickles to complete this creation.

CPS 155 & FTTC55 Double Duty

Yes, here I am , back with another challenge. Actually, I am doing double duty on this one! I don't get to do that very often, so lets see how this works out. The first challenge I am entering is Flourishes Timeless Tuesday 55 which is to use flowers. Flourishes has some of the most beautiful flower stamps so that part was easy. My second challenge is for Card Positioning System (CPS 155), who has a wonderful sketch for us this week.

Penny Black Week 89 Color Challenge

The weather stays miserable but it lets me enjoy working on challenges. This week there is a color challenge over at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge blog. Such light, Springy colors, put the joy of a new season within sight. Pink, green, and yellow are my tools.

My Penny Black stamp of choice was one that had been hidden in my stash. Everything old is new again, lol. It is a stamp by Jehane Boden Spiers from 2004, called Leaf/Sprig 2926H. I stamped it in SU Mellow Moss ink and colored and blended with oms and colored pencils. My papers are a combo from Basic Grey, K&Co, and scrap stash. I used two MS punches. The doily border which I love and the new large mum which will become a fast favorite. The buttons were self adhesive and from Target. The little journaling block is from Cosmo Cricket.

JUGS #21 Color Challenge

The ladies over at Just Us Girls challenge site have come up with another wonderful color challenge for us to try. It is so hard to believe that it is week #21 already!

These colors were very well suited to the Basic Grey, Indian Summer paper collection. I did let those papers do most of the work. My card base and image backgrounds are all ivory Pure Luxury card stock from Gina K. Designs.I edged the images with SU cameo coral ink, and then I stamped the images and sponged with Memento, rich cocoa. I colored in my images with a water brush and cameo coral ink with touches of Copic marker. To bring in the raspberry, I used thin strips and raspberry and coral Prima's. My only other accents are lines of pinkish pearls. Oh, lets not forget the stamps! The bird cage is an SU image and my sweet little birdie and sentiment are from the newest release by Asela Hopkins for Gina K. Designs, called Dream Birds. I love this set!

TMITA Lucky Bear

This sweet little digi is for the "There's Magic In The Air" challenge this week. He is feeling a wee bit distressed, because that is part of the requirements. Isn't he a cutie? His name is "Lucky Bear".

My papers are all digital that I have had for ages. The background paper is from Cutie Cupid Freebie Papers. I colored my image with Copic Markers and the #'s are E31, E35, G19, YG11, YG17, YR21. I sponged with olive chalk ink. My distressed edges were made with Fiber Scraps EZ Walnut Ink Tintz and the color is Moss. My only embellishments are 3 kelly green brads. My sentiment is an unmounted unknown.

We are having a bit of an ice storm right now. My fingers are crossed that it passes fast and does not build up on anything. Have a warm, safe evening.

The sun is shining and a wee bit of the snow is melting. It is a great day to play with new stamps. I received my order of Gina K. Design stamps from the latest release. They are all cut out and ready to roll. I wanted to incorporate a challenge while I was playing and saw the new Inspire11 challenge, over at Stamp TV, that Gina created. We are supposed to show what our style is.

That was kinda easy for me, because I like to combine stamps and make scenes. I love, love, love, my Gina K. stamps, but I must also get use out of my many others. It is so fun to plan what to combine! This card has me using Theresa Momber's new set called Hang In There. The only extra I added was the swamp stamp that is an oldie but goodie. It is from 1994/ Visual Image Printary. I have used it many times with different frogs and critters.

My card base is Kraft Pure Luxury card stock from GKD. Issued a print from Basic Grey Origins, and piece of apple green card stock for matting. Everything is colored with my Copic markers and I added accents of opaque white gel pen. I sponged the edges with Memento, rich cocoa and Colorbox ice blue, chalk ink.

I really hope you like my creation! This is my style.

Time To Work on Easter?

It seems like all we have to do is blink and it is time for another holiday. I usually get stalled around Valentines Day, squeak in a few cards for St. Patty's Day and then hibernate until it is 2 days before Easter. I wake in a panic, wondering where all the time has gone. As in past years, I vow that this will not happen again. (Crossing my fingers, toes, and eyes) My yearly stamp shows are late March and Early April, so that might keep me alert. My DD is moving into her first home in mid April, so that will be exciting also. Yep, it is time to work on my Easter projects.

Here is one that I made using an adorable stamp from Outlines. I just love all the yellows. The dp is from my scrap bin. The Happy Easter sentiment is from the dollar bin at Michaels. Everything was colored with Copic markers and I added mini brads and a Prima as my accents.

TMITA Lace and Circle Challenge

The latest challenge over at There's Magic In The Air is brought to us by Selma Stevenson. We are to include a circle, lace, and one of Nina May's images that we have collected. I was so fortunate to have won a challenge a few weeks back, and my prize was this wonderful cupcake!

I had not used it as of yet and thought it would be perfect . For my lace I used a round paper doily. My accents are adhesive purple gems from Darcie's. My bow is a cotton gingham. I used fancy tags to cut my sentiment, which is from Lockhart Stamp Co. I colored with my Copic markers and the colors used are #0, B00, BG05, C1, V04, V12, Y15, Y19, YG06.

Wishful Thinking!

I just can not believe we are expecting more snow starting this evening. I am going to drag out every Spring stamp I own, to keep my head in a good place. All I want is a good day with temps in the 40's so that maybe it will melt enough to let it slide off the roof. Oh well.

So during my day dreaming and wishful thinking, I made this card. Actually, my DD was home this weekend for her birthday, and she started coloring this wonderful basket of flowers by PSX. It is #K-1626/1995. They use to have the most amazing images! She had to leave and head back home and asked me to finish it. I think we used a dab of every Copic marker I owned.

The papers are from my scrap pile. I added pearls and MS butterfly punches. I used letter stickers to spell JOY, and SU! corner punches as accents. Can you smell the hyacinths and tulips? I think I will turn my house into a flowers shop during the Easter season, so I can breathe in the freshness of it all!

Oh My Stars!

This little cutie is for two different challenges for this week. My first is Gina K.'s Inspire 10 challenge, over at Stamp TV, that has to include stars. The three stars down the side of my image are from GKD,Lazy Days Of Summer, stamp set. I stamped them in Night of Navy SU!
ink, and then added yellow bands.

My second challenge is for Card Positioning Systems, and is a sketch challenge (#154-part1). It was such a fun sketch to work with!

My designer papers are all from Making Memories, Just Chillin' collection. I have shown the colors of Copic Markers that I used and I tried to give my little bear texture, so that he looked stuffed. I found navy star buttons that I laced with yellow ribbon. Touches of diamond Stickles were added for sparkle. The bear stamp is an unknown, and I did a bit of paper piecing to create the wall behind him.

I am ever so glad to be back to stamping today, as I did a real blooper and put my hand down on a hot stove burner, yesterday. Can you say major OUCH? Quick reaction kept blistering to a minimum. We just so happened to have prescription burn cream in the house from a burn my daughter received, and we slathered it on after many minutes in icy water. I can actually close my hand today and the skin looks like it will peel but not deeply. I was very lucky.
