Angie Girl Challenge

This week the challenge for the Show and Tell Unity group on FB is to use an Angie Girl.  There are many to choose from, but I only own the ones that have been included in the Kits of the Month.   This girl is from the July 2015 KOM called Halo Dirty.

My card stock in ivory is from Gina K. Designs.  I used layers of papers from an earth prints Mat Stack, which I have had for years.  Coloring is done with Copic Markers.  For embellishments I added tiny clear gems from Want 2 Scrap and a twine bow from AC.

I think I shall also take this card over to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which is an anything goes.

The Challenge #9 at MFP Stamps Challenge is to use the color brown.  I believe this suites the challenge.

It is Friday and the weekend is starting off cold, but from what I hear we are in for a great warm up! Hope after this rainy, windy, yucky week, you have some fun plans.  Thanks for the visit!

Sharing a Second

I just had to do another card for the Unity Show and Tell color challenge, this week.  As you know from my post a couple days ago, they are featuring the colors red and kraft.  You do have the option of including black and white

Here is what I came up with.  My unity stamps are the pretty bird cage from June 2015 KOM, and my sentiment from the January 2012 KOM.  I just love combining my Unity kits! The layers are kraft, black, and white.  My oval was cut using an inside out stitched oval from MFT.  I stamped my cage with Memento on kraft and used colored pencils and mineral spirits to blend.  There was a heavy emphasis on the white pencil.  I did some sponging around the oval with Unicorn white ink from Hero Arts.  Twine, flower punches, and gems were added as embellishments.

Sympathy cards are not a favorite to create but they are sure good to have at the ready.  Thanks for the visit, and I hope to see you again soon.

A Spring Color Challenge

I was checking out some blogs this morning and I saw my buddy Carol entered a color challenge over at DRS Designs.  It is challenge # 214, and it really sparked me to get busy on Easter cards.

My designer paper is called Sweet Nectar, and is from K&Co.  The inks are SU! Pistachio Pudding, So Saffron, Positively Pink, and Pool Party for the clouds.  The tree trunk was stamped in Memento Toffee Crunch, and the small grass blades are Cottage Ivy, also from Memento.  I double stamped the leaves/dots to make it look like Spring blossoms.  The stamp set is called Sheltering Tree and is quite a versatile set.  I added some sweet bunnies from Impression Obsession for dimension.

Thought this was a cute scene, and I think it will be great to duplicate for dear friends and family.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Red and Kraft

This week for the Unity Show and Tell Challenge, we have a color challenge.  They have chosen red and kraft.  What a great combo!  I used stamps from 2 different kits to create my card.  The first is the KOM from April 2011 to use the harlequin background stamp.  All of my other stamps are from the June 2015 KOM.

The inks used are riding hood red from SU and Toffee Crunch from Memento. My red card stock is Bazzill  called Bling and it has a pearlized finish.  I added touches of Copic to make an outline on my SB die and bits on the bee's fuzz.  Hemp twine and red pearls are used as embellishments.

I would be happy to link, but this is a closed group on FB.  If you would like to join so you can see what we are up to, please join!

Have a great weekend, and I sure hope we get the warmer temps they are predicting.

Photo Inspiration

This week, the Unity Show and Tell group on FB has a new challenge which is a photo inspiration.  I have stared at this pic for hours, and could not think of any stamps in my Unity collection with the circular shape I wanted.  I decided to go for a background with the colors, keeping the rest of the card simple.  The loopy leaf image is a stamp I had from a won grab bag, and the rest of the stamps (sentiment, butterfly, and small leaf) are from  the June 2015 KOM.  The pattern for my background was stamped on designer paper from Paper Crate.  I colored with Copic Markers and used gold embossing.  I added a line of pink gems to the b-fly body.  Here is the photo we had to work with.

Not planning on leaving the house very much, this weekend.  It is bone chilling cold.  If you are in the grips of this mess, please be safe.

Just a little Valentine.

Today I would like to share a Valentine I made that features the Vines of Passion die from Spellbinders.  I also used lots of leftovers and pieces of papers to put this together.  I thought the heart would be a bit more dramatic with black behind it to make it pop.  Not sure why I pulled in the cream, but I do so always love pink with my b&w.  I used pink gems, black glittered flowers, a computer generated sentiment, and a 3 window die cut that I have been pushing to the side of my desk for forever.

I will be taking this over to Pixie's Snippets Playground # 215.  There are amazing paper artists that play there.  You must go check them out!

We are in for some very cold days come this weekend. (-15 wind chill, so they say)  Stay warm and be creative!  Thanks for the visit, cause I sure appreciate you.

New Unity Show and Tell Challenge!

I had been so bummed out the last couple weeks since I have all these Unity stamps and they cancelled the weekly challenge.  Well never fear, they came through with a great new challenge on their Unity FB, Show and Tell group.  Be sure to join the group if you would like to participate.

I created this card using the November 2012 KOM from Unity, Tip Top Taupe ink from SU!, designer paper from Momenta, and a kraft card base.  My embellishments are Candy Dots from SU!, and a twine bow.  Here is the sketch we are asked to use for the first weekly challenge, and yes, I flipped it!

Sharing this at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge called Have A Heart.

Had a wee bit of snow this morning, but it looks like it has headed toward the shore now.  Have a warm, wonderful day.

Sweetheart!

I wonder who this card could be for.  I have really used found treasures from the deep, dark recesses of my stamp room.

Wanting to make a card using some Unity Stamps, I reached into my bag of tricks and yanked out the November 2012 KOM.  So many cute little phrases and images!  My card base is a double sided card stock from the unknown.  I added a scrap of designer paper from the Hey Kid collection by PinkPaislee.  Then came in the Unity stamps which were used to enhance the background.  I was even able to use up 2 epoxy stickers.  The love sticker is from Soft Spoken, and the reaching hands are from Imaginations. The little bow was a salvage from a bought card.  I just have to use this stuff up!

I will be taking this over to Pixie's Snippets Playground #214.  I think I brought my bits to the table, this week!

Also, the challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is Have A Heart.

Well, that made the room a quarter of an ounce lighter!  Thanks for checking in, my blogging friends.
