Unity Linky for FwF, plus some!

Another week has passed and it is time for the weekend!  It is also time for Friends with Flair, over on the Unity Blog.  We are just at a break in a heat wave, and boy, does it feel good.

Today my card uses the July, 2015 KOM.  I fell in love with this vintage camera, and decided to give it a bit of a funky look with water colors. I truly used many scraps from my bins including my card base which I believe is a retired SU! color.  I have started cutting down many of my small print 12x12 favorite papers, which just sit since I have gotten away from scrapbooking.  One of my very favorite techniques is stamping direct to designer paper, which I have done with the ric- rac and background stamps from the kit.

I will be entering this for the following:

Unity Friends with Flair- Use Unity Stamps
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge- Anything Goes
Pixie's Snippets Playground #188-  Use those snippets

Have a wonderful week ahead, and thanks for stopping!

Friday means FwF

Today's card is a random use of scraps and grab bag stamps from Unity Stamp Co.  The coffee cup stamp, and the sentiment are both from a prize assortment, I do believe.  I used random papers, a new die from Darice called "swirl vine".  Crystal Effects were added to my cups, after I water colored with Spectrum Noir Aqua pens and a water brush. For embellishments I used random size aqua sequins.  This card is for the Friday linky at Unity for Friends with Flair.

We have had a fine stretch of weather, and it has been very refreshing.  Hope you are experiencing the same, and have a fantastic weekend.

For my friends that did not see my sweet Della in her new Cuddle Cup on FB,  doesn't this just make you want to say awwwwwwwwwwwww?   She has been cutting some major zzzzzz's in this thing!

Pet Sympathy

I always hate when I have to make this type of card.  It was sad news for my Godson and his wife, who had to put down their loving pug last night.  They are just inconsolable.  I will wait a day or so, and send this off.  I know that Turk will be enjoying a good romp over the rainbow bridge.

The card was made with a black base, a layer of kraft, and a scrap of unknown designer paper.  I used a new Darice die to cut the branch, also from a scrap, and added peach buttons to look like fruit or flowers.  All stamps, other than the AI grass, are from my Sweet 'n Sassy Puppy Love stamp set.  They were stamped in Versafine Onyx ink.   I decided to add a scrap of mocha ribbon that I saved from a store bought card. :)

Since I used up a pile of bits, I will take this over to Pixie's Snippets Playground #186

Have a blessed day, and thanks for stopping by today.  It cooled some, so there is a bit more energy to be had.

Get In Shape!

That is the theme of this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!  They are not talking exercise, but rather cards other than square or rectangle. Sooooooooooo.......

Here we go with my version of "Get In Shape".  I started with a Zyron Shapez die cut 2x, and attached to each other with double sided tape.  while it was still in the die, I sponged with Salty Ocean DI.  Found this sparkly dot ribbon in my stash, and it was the perfect colors.  My flower was cut out of scraps that I had been dabbing my sponge on with Salty Ocean and Mown Lawn DI.  The die used is from Spellbinders, called Aster Flower Topper.  Love the way the petals can be popped up.  My sentiment is from Inky Antics punched with an SU! circle punch.  The Doxie and balloon were stamped, colored, and fussy cut from Delightful Doxies stamp set by Newton's Nook.

This will also be loaded over at Pixie's Snippets Playground # 186, since I used up pieces to create this!

The heat is unbearable again today.  A very good day to stay in and create.  Stay cool and be sure to check on your elders.

Time for Flair! (adult content)

Well we made it to another Friday!  Yip, yip!  That also mean it is time to do a hook up on the Unity Blog, for Friends with Flair.

Today I am using an Itty Bitty stamp from Unity called "Happy Dust"  by Angie Blom.

I started with a white base and embossed it with a Decorative Dot EF.  My background was created with Distress Inks and bubble wrap, with a spritz of water.  Paper doily pieces and ribbon were added for some added texture.  The Happy Dust stamp was stamped in Mown Lawn DI, and cut out with a classic scalloped oval from SB.  The little fairy/angel stamp is an unmounted and unknown from my stash.  I added a few green gems, and some stardust pen to the wings.

I do believe I will enter this at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers # 38, R is for Rude

That is it for me today.  Here is the Friends with Flair linky, so you can see all the great inspiration!  Have a great weekend.

Using My Snippets!

It is Monday, (grumble, grumble) and time to get into the swing of a new week!  Today I am sharing a card that I feel is perfect for Pixie's Snippets Playground # 185.  I found all of the pieces to create with, laying on my desktop.  We know there is always white, but I had a bit of navy and kraft as well as that dotty goodness.  My new nautical die set by Darice is rather cool, since you can stencil.  I added some stitched clouds from Lil Inker, and created an embossed panel and flag piece for my Unity sentiment.  There are SB circles behind my boat, and embellishments of twine and blue gems.  Inks for sponging are Color Box Chalk in lipstick red and blue iris.

I never seem to have enough comfort cards on hand, and always praying I don't need them.  Have a blessed day.

Bicycles and Ribbon!

Today I would like to share a card that was created with stamps from Market Street Stamps, called Riding By.  I thought the bike was adorable and you can exchange the puppy basket for a flower basket.  I stamped and then cut my image with a Lil' Inker stitched rectangle mat.  Coloring is with Copic Marker, and sponging is done with SU! inks.  My designer papers on my chocolate card base are from Basic Grey.  I added some of my handmade wrinkle ribbon, and a ribbon slide I found in my stash.   The inside sentiment is You're Spoketacular!  The little tufts of grass are my go to stamp from Art Impressions.

I would like to enter my card at Crafty Ribbon Challenge # 123-  Bicycles w/ Ribbon.
Also, at Little Red Wagon #297, Birthday Theme

Thanks for the visit, I always love when you stop by!

Friends with Flair......

I wanted to share a Unity card using their KOM from April 2013.  I really enjoyed this kit because of all of the fun images, which included masculine ones.  The was called " you make my heart puffy".

I did use a couple of other stamps on this card, but most are Unity.  I started with a black card base and stamped the background stamp included in the kit with Hero Arts Unicorn White ink, 3x.  Next I used a tag that was sent with one of my Unity orders, and cut fishtails in ribbon which was also a gift.  I used a plaid background stamp, and a splatter stamp to try and give the tag depth, and then stamped my mustache image and sentiment from the kit.  Gems and sequins were added to jazz things up.

This card will be entered on the Friends with Flair linky, on the Unity Blog.

Outdoors!

Well I can't think of greater outdoors, than the outside of houses!  I created this watercolor for my BIL and his lady, who recently bought a new home.  As for the challenge I am entering, it is a new one to me.  I am linking up to the Paper Players Challenge #252, Ann's Theme Challenge, The Great Outdoors!

I started with a white card base, and cut a panel of watercolor paper, slightly smaller.  My images are from the SU! set called Holiday Home, and are embossed with white embossing powder.  I them started playing with my new Spectrum Aqua pens, and this is what I came up with.  The small grass tufts at the bottom are one of my "go to" stamps from Art Impressions.  I added the tiny hearts over one house to indicate that love lives there.

I hope you like my project, and that you have a fantastic week.

Visiting the Playground!

I got too jammed up last week, to play at Pixie's Snippets Playground, but I am hoping this card will fit the bill.  I am still trying to use things that have been in my stash for ages, and that includes this large sunshine stamp from Inkadinkado.    This is week # 184 at PSP.

I started with a base of pumpkin spice card from Gina K. Designs, a scrap of designer paper left from my last card.  Yep it was reversible!  My image was colored with Copic markers, and cut out with a classic Spellbinder circle die.  I then cut 2 pieces from the SB fancy tag  #3 set, placing one up and down, and then cutting the ends off the second, and adding it to the sides of my image.  My embellishments are black opaque sticky dots, and a black lacy embellishment.  I also added a few strokes of white gel pen to my sun.  My inside sentiment is also from Inkadinkado and says, "Sending you cheerful wishes to brighten your day".

Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.  We relaxed yesterday, and today we are finishing up some outdoor chores.  Thanks for the visit!

Summertime Fun!

I created this card a few weeks ago, and thought I would share it for the 4th, since everyone enjoys all that good old summer fun!  Not your typical red, white, and blue card, but more to celebrate other traditions like the hot dog eating contest.

I stamped my hot dog stamp which is from Rubber Baby Buggie Bumpers, and my Weenie sentiment from Repeat Impressions.  Coloring was done with Copics and I glazed my mustard with Paper Glaze.  My rectangles were cut with Spellbinders Scalloped Rectangles.  I added gingham ribbon, a 3D pinwheel, and a brad.  I used a kraft base, and designer paper from Imaginisce.

Maybe I will find a good challenge for this today!  If you have any ideas, let me know!

We are experiencing rain for at least part of our day, so it is putting a damper on outside activities, for now.  Enjoy whatever you have planned!

Using My June KOM

The Friends with Flair link is up, and I had this little card to share this week.  I really did not get to play with my June kit of the Month from Unity, all that much.  I guess I should be posting patriotic, but my heart was saying birds and wildflowers!

My bird, Queen Ann's Lace, and sentiment are all from the June kit.  I stamped with Memento Ink, and added Distress Inks in Salty Ocean, Cracked Pistachio, Mown Lawn, and Broken China.  For embellishments I added wrinkled ribbon which I hand dyed and scrunched, tiny Prima flowers with mini brads, and a big button which I received free in one of my Unity orders.  The designer paper used is from Basic Grey, called Indie Bloom.  The sentiment is cut with a classic circle SB die.

Have a wonderful 4th of July, and please remember, if you have pets, fireworks can be totally devastating to them.  Keep them safe!

We're Going Dotty!

That is the theme for this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge , so going dotty it is!  They are also using Art Impression stamps, and I decided to use both for my card!

I started with a black base and added a layer, plus circles from papers in a new to me 6x6 pad called American Craft Basics. My Art Impression stamps are SC0649.  Copic markers were used for coloring, and I sponged with Salty Ocean Distress Ink.  A few sequins were added, and some Stickles were added to the clouds.

That is it for me today!  Hope all the rain holds off and everyone can get the most out of their holiday!
