Butterfly Challenge +H

I just happened to remember the Butterfly Challenge that is hosted by Mrs. A.  This is challenge # 25 which is + H for Hexagons.  Well, don't you know I had a card that I made recently that fit that exact bill.

My card has a green base and a layer of white, which was a scrap from cutting out my Fanciful Flourish die from Cheery Lynn.  I then embossed the negative with my hexagon embossing folder, and colored in random hexes with green.  After I stared at this for sometime, I decided to insert a scrap of pattern to show through the flourish.  My Butterfly and sentiment are both from Unity Stamps.  There is sponging with inks and coloring with Copic marker.  I used diamond Stickles on my green hex's, and finished with enamel dots from SU!.

I have not played Mrs. A.'s challenge in a very long time, and since I used mostly bits from my desk, I would like to take this over the Pixie's Snippets Playground.  How about I enter it in Friends with Flair, for a second post, since I used their stamps?  Thanks so much for visiting!

Some BFF Flair!

So happy for it to be Friday again!  Blink, and it is here!  Here is a card I made for Friends with Flair, and I think this image is perfect for a special BFF.

Here is what I used:
The stamp set is called Owl Pals from Unity
Card base is kraft with a scrap of unknown designer paper.
Coloring is with Copic markers
Sponging was Baked Brown Sugar from SU!
Embellishments are Prima Got Flowers, Recollection pearls, and enamel dots from SU!  Ribbon is scrap.
The background dots were done with a stubby stamp from Judith.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Add a Little Texture

This week, for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, the theme is Add a Little Texture. I did my best to add layers, and added some of the texture with Delta Texture Magic, a Crafter's Workshop mini bricks stencil,  and a pallet knife.  I tried to make it make it look more like stone by smoothing and then pulling up on the knife to make it pucker.  I hope it looks like a wall with flowers cascading over.

The designer paper if from the Lauderdale collection by Basic Grey.  I took part of the piece and fussy cut flowers, which I popped up.  The empty areas were filled in with Prima flowers, and pearls.  Some of the flowers got a bit of extra texture with a pearl pen.  Even my card base has a raised dot texture. The sentiment is from the February KOM for Unity, which is stamped with Island Indigo ink, and I finished up with a lace bow.

Thanks for stopping by, and I wish you a fun weekend.

A Little More Flair!

I have another little 4x4 card to share with you today.  My DH has recently started bowling, and when I saw the newer stamp kit at Unity, called Balls To You, I just had to pick it up during one of their great sales.

This card was made from scraps from the bin, colored with Copic markers, and embellished with star sequins and silver balls.  I sponged with Midnight Muse ink from SU!

I will enter this as a second entry for Friends with Flair.  If you would like to see my first post, click here.

Maybe I can slip this into his bag one week, with a little note of encouragement.

Friday FwF

Here we are at Friday once more.  I have a CAS card to share with you today.  It uses the February KOM form Unity.  I will be linking this up for Friends with Flair, this week.  CAS is usually not my thing, but I loved how this came out.

The card uses a Neenah white card base and tone on tone designer paper called Fancy Bird Bazzill White.  My sentiment is from the Unity KOM and was stamped in Smokey Slate.  My flowers were punched with a Paper Shaper, Retro Flower punch, and gems were added to the center.

Well I can't sign off without a weather report.  The wind chill is -25* this morning.  People are experiencing many hardships with burst pipes.  Hard to believe that Sunday they are calling for 46 with rain!  Thanks for visiting... keep warm!

Friends with Flair!

Well now, tomorrow is the big "V" Day, and I wish you and your special someone, a lovey dovey day!  We are expecting a few days of sub-zero temps, with a little snow on top.  It will hopefully stay toasty in my house, as I plan on lots of cooking, playing with my GS, (yes he is coming to visit), and on top of Valentines, we are going to celebrate my DD's birthday.

Today I have a card that uses Unity Stamps from a couple sources.  My clouds are from the July 2009 KOM, and my sentiment is from the March 2013 KOM.  The embossing folder which I used, is from Darice, and the designer paper is from a haul at Tuesday Mornings, marked Momenta, which is new to me. The sea gull was cut with the IO die.  There was Copic coloring, and sponging involved.  Embellishments were a few enamel dots.  I did add sparkle with a stardust pen, but as usual, it is not showing up.

This will be for Friends with Flair, over on the Unity blog.  Thanks for stopping by!

Making Treats

Here is a project that I am finishing up today.  Made some treats for co-workers, if I ever get back to work this week.  LOL.  Calling for freezing rain and sleet until tomorrow.

I created the pop cover with kraft card cut at 8 1/2 x 2.  They are scored at 3.5 and 5.  Both ends are punched with the scalloped tag topper punch from SU.  I added the pops to the back inside with a glue dot, at a slight angle, so I could tie my ribbon through the top.  Added some Recollections washi tape.  The sentiment is from the SU!  Tags for You set and the coordinating punch which I popped up with dimensionals.

Thanks for taking a peek, and if you are experiencing this lastest slop, be safe out there.

It's Friday.....We Made It!

We have made it to another weekend!  The cold winter chill will make sure we do not do too many outside activities.  What a great time to settle in and do some crafting.  My cards today, are more of my adventure of stamping directly on designer paper.

The first card uses stamps from the December 2014 KOM, from Unity.  I inked my images in multiple colors, did accents in Copic marker, and layered it on so pre-embossed card that I found .  That was then attached to a kraft card blank.  I simply added a twine bow.

My second card is gold embossing, on top of a gold foiled paper scrap.  It was very difficult to get a good photo, because of the shine.  I took a brown Copic and quickly highlighted inside of the flower to make it pop more.  I know the Copic and EP can get tricky, so that is why it was with real quick swipes. I made a fishtail banner for my sentiment, and added a gold cording bow, with button.  These stamps are from the January 2015 KOM.

I will be linking these to the Friday Friends with Flair party.  Check out all of the talent, and if you leave comments, you could be a winner!  Thanks for visiting.

Bright and Beautiful

Today's card is one of those creations that you love, but you can not say much about.  I stamped this image on water color paper when I was on an outing with friends.  Our LSS has a wall of stamps that you can use and you pay by the hour.  This was one of those stamps, and unfortunately, there was no maker on the wood mount.  I fell in love with these beautiful Morning Glories!  The sentiment is also an unknown.  If anyone knows, please feel free to advise.

The card is rather simple.  Soft sand base, with a scrap of bordered designer paper, cut down.  I water colored my image, and while it was wet, I did a sprinkle of ultra fine glitter.  I also added some hand dyed seam binding, which I wrinkled.  Dew Drops are my embellishments.

I will be entering this card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge called Bright and Beautiful!

Time to Celebrate

I recently made this card to celebrate the retirement of a dear crafting friend, Olga, from Craftieodamae.  Not many people can say they worked at the same job for over 33 years, these days.  Anyhow I just could not let this occasion pass without a woohoo!

My card is just lots of tidbits of papers I pulled together.  I am so pleased when I can find enough to create with.  My stamps are from Unity, including the little bird and the heart made of hearts.  The little sentiment is an unknown.  There is far more sparkle than is shown, and I felt like I had created a personal parade for Olga.  LOL!

I do believe I will enter this over at Pixie's Snippets Playground #162, since I used up so many little goodies.

Thanks for stopping by, and remember, Spring is right around the corner!

Let's Sail Away!

Here is a card that I created for a fellow employee.  She wanted a special Valentine for her hubby.  I did a few different thing, but used all scraps from my desk to make it come alive.

I started with assorted Distress Inks to create my sky and ocean, placing a circle die cut so my moon would stay white.  I also stamped my boat and sails from PTI.  I then re-stamped the boat and sails, fussy cut and adhered.  My background was sent through the Cuttlebug using a Square Lattice EF from Stampin Up!.  The anchor is hand cut from the same set, as is the sentiment.  I added seagulls from Impression Obsession, which I cut from black scraps, and well as stars and a heart from a Simon Says Stamp die.  My sparkle is not showing as I would have liked, but there are touches of Stardust pen, as well as crystal stars from Recollections.  I carried the theme to the inside.  My panel was mounted on white and then red.

I would like to enter this at Pixie's Snippets Playground #162, which is always snippets.

Also I would like to take this over to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which is Anything Goes.

Another sloppy morning, here in PA.  More rain than snow, but they are calling for a flash freeze early this afternoon.  I think I will stay put!  Thanks for stopping.
