Simon Says Stamp and PSP

Sunday morning, already?  Wonder what I will get into, today?  Here is a card I created, yesterday, for the Simon Says Stamp (Anything Goes with Buttons) Challenge, as well as the Pixie's Snippet Playground Challenge # 118.

     Here is my supply list:

.*My card base is a piece from a huge pile of scraps given to me from a retiring SU demo.  Green???

*My designer paper is We R Memory Keepers (recess).  My friend Carol and I have been finding some great papers to share.

*On a recent play date, I was able to use the exclusive SU embossing folder that was offered during the Sale-A-Bration, which ends tomorrow. Just love this reverse side as craters.  I had to have my own and it is coming tomorrow!  It's called Decorative Dots, and is free with a certain purchase.

*Next, I borrowed and cut out a few Bread Tags, from the Chalk Talk frame- lits. They are cut out of Sweet Corn card from Gina K. Designs

*For my embellishments I used twine and buttons from Gina K. Designs, diecut leaves from SU!, printed flowers from Prima (so old), and piece of burlap with gold threads.

* My sentiment is from a Unity Stamp Co. grab bag that I won, and it is inked with a CTMH pen .

Have a wonderful day rest of the weekend, and I appreciate your visits.

Friends with Flair

Wow, I am not usually this late loading my Friends with Flair post.  Hubby and I went for a little ride tonight, before the 5" of rain starts coming down.  I have been working on lots of things that I can't post, since they are for Easter.  I did however, drag out some Unity stamps that I received in a grab bag, many moons ago, and set about making this card.  That means that I don't know what set they are from, sorry.  Rachel just informed me that my stamp is from a set called "This House".  Thanks, Rachel!

I started with a green card stock with texture, layered on some paper from K&Co designed by Kim Hodges, and then my colored image, which was done with Copic markers.  I did a double of the umbrella, and popped it up.  I added paper lace, also from K&Co, and gems to add some texture and sparkle.  It reminds me of a row of beach cottages.

I do apologize for the tiny bit of Black Lab hair that made it into the photo.  Grrr.  Love her dearly, but, she has to leave her trademark everywhere.  If that is Jessie's job, she does it quite well.

Mod Squad Challenge-ColorfuLee Yours

This week, the Lee at the Mod Squad Challenge has asked us to use brown and red, in our creating.

I decided to use one of my Stamp TV kits called Vintage Chic.  This kit has some amazing images, and sentiments.  I found this red plaid paper from an old Scrap Pad from Provo.  I inked my stamps with Memento, Toffee Crunch, and on the floral corners, I wiped the flowers, and added Memento Ladybug Red pen, before stamping.  I embossed a strip with my brick wall EF and lightly rubbed it with white ink.  The kite was fussy cut and paper pieced in plaid.  I still needed a little something, so I cut out some Memory Box birds, which I sponged to highlight, and perched them about. There  is a little sparkle from a Sakura pen, and some cocoa pearls.

Have a wonderful weekend, and thanks for the visit.

Friends with Flair and Be Inspired Time.

Another week has passed, and yesterday we celebrated the first day of Spring!  Our temps are still being a bit wonky, here in PA, and they are even saying the "S" word for next week.  I am trying to be positive, use the freshness of Spring to move forward, and conquer what has been dragging me down, this past Winter!

I decided to do the Be Inspired Challenge, at Unity, as well as enter these cards into Friends with Flair, this week.  Be sure to click, and check out all of the beautiful work that is linked up.  There is also a sale going on, at Unity, so be sure to check that out!

For my first card, I used the sweet circular stamp from the March KOM at Unity.  I punched it with the scallop punch from SU!, and colored it with Copic markers.  The flower center is done with diamond Stickles.  My base is Pure Ivory card stock from Gina K. Designs.  The designer paper is from MME and their Vanity Fair collection.  I just adore that touch of hounds tooth!

Here is the sketch I followed for the Be Inspired Challenge.

Card 2 is strictly for the Friends with Flair, this week.   It also uses the Vanity Fair designer paper, from MME.  The butterflies and the sentiment are both in the March KOM.  I fussy cut the one and popped it up.  My little loopy border is cut from K&Co adhesive paper lace.  Coloring is done with Copic markers and touches of clear were added with a glaze pen.

Rumor has it, that 65 is in our future for tomorrow.  Maybe some of the leaves and debris can be removed over my bulbs.  I won't rush over the later flowers, so they can stay tucked in.  Whatever you end up doing, make it a good time!

Luck of the Irish!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Just wanted to do a quick post to send good wishes.  I spent the morning creating this card in a box, which seems to be all the rage.

This uses stuff from all over my stamp room.  I used an olive and white cardstock to make the main frame for this folding card in a box.  I found the tutorial on Pinterest.  I created shamrocks from a scrap of plaid paper I found in my bin.  The paper roses are from Recollections.  The pup digi is marked FF6 St. Pats Puppy, from Ike's World.  The single beer mug digi is from Blackberry Jelly.  The beer stamp on my side panels are from Canadian Maple Collections.  The 2 sentiments are unmounted stamps from my collection, but are unknown.  I used Diamond and Gold Stickles and a scrap of green ribbon for the dog's bow.  Coloring was done with Copic markers.

I wanted to show you the back, which most people leave as a blank panel for writing a message.  I decorated mine.  These are such fun!  I am sure this will not be my last card in a box.  I am already planning a Get Well with race cars.  It is just amazing how it all folds to the size of an A2 envelope!

Since I used so many scraps and unloved bits, I would like to enter this at Pixie's Snippets Playground.

I thought I would also give it a go with the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Lucky".

Awww, what the heck...... I might as well enter this in the challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.  It is Challenge #3  "P is for Paddy".  That is a great place!

If you indulge in the green beer today, make sure you drink lots of water, also.  That will help with things in the morning.  Be sure you have a DD to get you home!

Happy Friday, FwF!

I am still baffled at how it got to be Friday again, so soon.  Hope all is well in your little part of the world.  The 2 cards I am sharing for Friends with Flair, this week, are both using the new March KOM, from Unity.  It is called "The Reason Someone Smiles".   The images are just lovely!

Both of my cards are made with designer paper from My Minds Eye.  I have had this paper for years, and  I found it great to stamp directly onto.  There is a great distressed feel about it.  A new Sizzlet die came my way, and I created the doily with it.  I also used a new Real Red ink pad from SU!  That is a whole other story!

Have you ever pushed a new SU! ink pad, to open the lid, and have it fly across the room?  Then you can't get it back together.  Ugh!  Here is what I looked like, after that mess!

Okay, my friends...... enjoy the upcoming weekend!  So glad you stopped.

Psychodelic Hippie Shroom

When I saw this stamp in the February Kit of the Month, it reminded me of all the crazy painting we use to do on our jeans, back in the day.  People would not look at your face when you greeted each other, they would be checking out the art work on your jeans.  Okay, call me crazy!  That is when I grew up.....Yep, hippie days.  That is my story, and I am sticking to it!

Today, for my Friends with Flair entry, I decided to use this fun stamp.  My background is made with my Fiber Scrap, walnut inks.  I stamped the image with Memento ink, when the paper was dry, and took Copic's to some of the areas.  I added pearl pen, Stickles, some vintage ric rac, and a button as  embellishments.  The sentiment and the floral border are also from the kit.

I hear that there are warmer temps headed our way.  I still don't think this ice will all melt.  Happy Friday to one and all, and thanks for the visit.

Telling it Like It Is!

Here is hoping that the word A$$ does not offend anyone.  I have been seeing these cute alligators all over Pinterest, and just had to give one a try!

The alligator is created with the banner punch from SU!  I also used their small circle punches for his eyes.  This is one of those sentiments that I have had for years, and you have to admit, we all have friends that could use this reminder!  Yes, I altered it into dollar signs.  It is unmounted, so I am clueless to maker.  I used a scrap from my stash for the bottom half.  I sponged to create my sky and used Soft Sky ink from SU!.  The cattails are from Stampscapes, and the rocks and grass are from Stamps by Judith.

Since the sentiment has been in my lost bucket of rubber for so many years, I thought it was fitting to enter this over at the SOSS Challenge #2 which is U is for Unused.

However did it get to be Thursday, already?  Whatever you are up to, enjoy!  Just think, we get to lose an hour this weekend by changing the clocks, but that extra daylight is going to be heavenly!

Butterfly Challenge #2

I have created a card for the Butterfly Challenge #2, which is to use the 3 B's.  That would be butterflies, buttons, and bows.

I did a run for glue, yesterday, and found this Martha Stewart Punch Around set for 4.97 at JoAnn's Fabric.  It is called Double Arches.  I also found this gorgeous My Minds Eye paper pad called In Bloom, at clearance price (2.99) at Michael's.  For embellishments, I used lace, ribbon, buttons, gem butterflies, and a twine bow.  My sentiment stamps are from Unity KOM of January 2014.

Me thinks the weather men have hyped this snow storm far too much.  I barely have a coating.  It's a plot to sell more groceries.  All of you people who had planned on a day off....... surprise!  Have a great day, and I am so happy you paid a visit.
