Wee Memories #53

The challenge at Wee Memories is "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun".  This is also a new challenge spot for me.  I went digging in my stamp drawers and came up with this card idea.

First I had to find just the right paper. My base is Lemon Drop, Pure Luxury cs from Gina K. Designs. I found a scrapbook kit I bought from Avon ages ago, called Flitterbyes by Kathleen Francour.  The kit contained beautiful floral papers, and the chipboard Gerber daisies, also!  The glamour girl sentiment is from Denami Design, and the dress stamp is from Peddler's Pack Stampworks.  The small HB is from D.O.T.S..  I colored my image with Copic markers and added stitching, gingham ribbon and a pink pearl as accents.

I will also be entering this over at Create With Bubbe for her Birthday Challenge.

Off I go to find a new project!  Thanks for taking a peek.  Have a super dooper day!

TSG104 Happiness Grows

This is my second post of the day!  However did that happen?  Lol!  I decided to try a sketch challenge I found over at There She Goes.  Here is the sketch I used.

This was great fun!  I started with a base of Lemon Drop, Pure Luxury card stock, printed a trio of digital papers from Pixels and Icecream.com.  The stamp set I chose to use from There She Goes Stamps, is called Garden of Friends. Coloring was done with Copic markers. I used the Threading Water scallops punch from Fiskars, some blue grosgrain ribbon, and light green gems for accents.  The flowers and leaves were all sparkled up with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen.

Seems I am going to have lots of extra creative time this week, so please check in on me!

Can You Believe it?

I did a clean and simple card!  I never do them!  This was quite exciting for me!  I found this great challenge over at the Less Is More site.  This is Week #12 challenge to create Off Centre.

I used an assortment of stamps, most of which I have had for ages.  The balloons are an old D.O.T.S. stamp that I did in assorted SU! inks.  I added the strings by hand with a Zig pen, and then topped it off with a bow from Stamps by Judith.  I just love the ric-rak stamp I was able to blow the dust off of.  Why don't I use it more???  It is from Azadi Earles, Inc.  stamps.  It is one of my very first stamps.  The sentiment I bought just this year and it is from Rubber Cottage.

Hope everyone had a fantastic Easter.  I also hope the "food coma" has worn off.  Have a fantastic day.  Maybe I will get back with another card!

April Rose's Challenge

Good Morning!  I have finally finished preparing all of the goodies that I need to take for our Easter Dinner.  Now it is time to get down to business and load my Rose's Challenge for this month.  Sweet Sue Rose has challenge us to do a fancy fold card.  I will be the first to admit that I get a wee bit boring with my A2 cards.  I found this great tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers, for a Surprise Pop-Up Card and thought it looked interesting.

I used some olive and turquoise cards stock and some matching designer paper from Basic Grey.  My stamps are from Theresa Momber's stamp set call Little Critters, that was created  for Gina K. Designs.  I added Prima's, fibers, and fancy centers.  Coloring was done with Copic Markers and I added glaze with Crystal Effects.

I don't think I have to explain the workings of this thing.  Mine is not as fancy as some of the beauties I have seen from our bouquet,  but I was happy with the results.  It took me out of my comfort zone. LOL!  Thanks, Sue!

Be sure to take a peek at what the other Rose's have come up with!  They do such fabulous work!  Some have loaded already because of the holiday, just like I am.

Sue, Olga, Kerrie, Patti Sue, Kym, Connie,  and Betty!  Betty is in the middle of a move so she is on a break.

I also wanted to share this really awesome birthday cake that my DS's buddies had made for him.  My kid is a real card, what can I say.  He loves to cut up and do silly faces for photos.  The one buddy drew him from a photo, took it to the bakery, and had them recreate it.  Too funny.  It says "Rappy Birthday"  since he has his own recording studio.  Clever guys, huh?

Easter Blessings to you and your family.  Don't eat too many jelly beans!
P.S.  I found the dress for my DD's wedding.  Woo Hoo! More about that later.

More Peeps......

Today I would like to share a foursome of Easter cards that I created for Sunday's dinner guests.  They don't visit my blog, so I figured it was safe.  The whole idea came from this digital paper that I fell in love with.

I started with a base of Grass Green, Pure Luxury card stock, layered on the digi paper, and added a strip of embossed, Soft Suede from SU!.  I embossed with the plaid ef from Sizzix.  My images and sentiments are from the Melanie Muenchinger set called Basket Blessings, which she designed for Gina K. Designs. I colored the peeps with OMS and colored pencils.  Each card has a different green Prima flower, with a Jolee's gemmed center.  My sponging was done with Memento, Rich Cocoa.  As for shapes, I used an SU! scalloped circle punch, and my new Labels Seventeen dies from Nestabilities.

If you look on my sidebar, My Stamp TV Gallery was spotlighted by the STV Talent Scout.  If you click on my badge, you can see some of my cards I have done for their challenges.  I was shocked to receive this honor.  I would also like to wish my DS a very Happy Birthday, today!  Enjoy!

Peep, Peep!

Hi friends! I just wanted to share these cute treat bags I worked on this morning. I can't show whats inside, but I was loving how the outside came out!
First let me say that the bags and ribbon were both from Michaels. I had this adorable label in my digi stash and it says it is from MC [squared] Designs. I used cellophane card bags to hold my Peeps, since they seal real tight. I like hard Peeps, but I don't think everyone does. I turned the bags sideways and stapled on the labels after I printed them 6" wide, scored and folded. I used a hole punch, lined up the top of the label with the top of the bag and punched through all three layers, pulled through the spring colored ribbon and tied a bow. I wish I could link the topper for you but I can't find it. Anyway, This was easy-peasy.

Thanks for taking a look. I need to get back to my task at hand and keep looking for a gown for my DD's wedding. I only have a few weeks as they say they need 5 months to order. That gives me until May 15th. Ugh! Sorry, but I am not a dress person. My head is spinning! Time is flying now! Throw in Easter and all the cooking, and I lose more time. I am very happy to cook this year though, my DD is hosting the family event, and she is cooking some of it. It should be wonderful.

For The Love Of Iris......

Since I got a late start creating with Theresa Momber's new set, Warm With Love, I wanted to be sure and get a card posted with the gorgeous Iris she designed for the stamp set. When I was little, my mom had a long Iris bed down each boundary of our back yard. On one side they were blue and purple and on the other, they were golden with a deep plum edge. This is how I remember them.

My card base is Pure Luxury Kraft cs, and it is layered with Pure White PL, and designer paper from Basic Grey's Pyrus. I used a Classic Oval Nestabilities die, and colored my image with Copics. The colors used were: B00, BG0000, C1, Vo6, Y21, Y23, and YG 91, 93, 95. Sponging was done with SU! Old Olive. The sentiment is on a Fancy Tags die, and is from Theresa's previous set called Little Critters. I added cotton lace, amber pearls, and a fancy enameled brad for accents.

Thanks so much for stopping in, and if you have another free moment, please scoot over to Theresa's Blog and check out another card I was working on this week. Have a super weekend!

The Easter Bunny is Coming!

This week is the 14th tag challenge over at Joan's Gardens. Seems like only yesterday when she posted that the tag making was for fun! Since I have a few gifts I need to wrap for the holiday, I decided to use an Easter theme.

I have a tag template sheet from Hot Off The Press, that needed to see some love. It has all shapes and sizes. I have had it for years and call on it's assistance every now and then. After choosing my size, I found a fun digi paper that had the feel I was looking for. I cut the tag and stamped some of the new HCPC3374 Flora Grande 2 PreCut Set images from Heartfelt Creations. I colored them with pastel Copics and then distressed the edges of my tag with Vintage Photo DI. My sentiment is an unmounted and I am sorry, but I do not know from who. The bunny is also a digi image that I cut out and half popped up for dimension.

The embellishments are very fine satin ribbon, and Easter egg charm on a jump ring to dangle, and pearly blue buttons. I just love how vintage it came out!

Thanks for taking a peek. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

Birthday Bluebird

Happy Monday! I finally got to play with some of my new toys I bought on Saturday! I started with a new Sizzix EF from their Garden Flowers set. I did it on white and it was cool, but I decided to add color to the embossing using my Copics. Love that embossed stitching!

Next I decided I needed a Spellbinders die to add next to the embossing. I chose Labels Seventeen, which was also new. I added different leaves from the HCPC2252 Stems and Leaves, Pre-Cut set by Heartfelt Creations. The inks are Spanish Olive VersaMagic and Certainly Celery from SU! That formed a great background to pop an image from. I decided on the bluebird from Heartfelt's HCPC641 Bluebird with Flowers set. This was also colored with Copics and fussy cut. I added a happy birthday tag, brad, pearl, and some pink gingham ribbon. The base of my card is Creme De Menthe, Pure Luxury card stock from Gina K. Designs. That used 4 of my new scores from the show!

This card will also be entered in the Create With Bubbe Birthday Challenge. I think she must be getting tired of loading my cards, lol!

Have a great beginning to your week. It is going up to 85 degrees today! Woo Hoo! Thanks for stopping by.

27 Bottles of Beer on the Wall........

My DS came home for the weekend and since I was not sure I would get to see him again before his birthday, I decided to give him his card early. He is a guy with many talents, but one thing he enjoys doing is brewing beer at home. When I saw this digi, I just knew it would be great for him. Again I have no designer attached to the image, so if you know who made it, please let me know so I can add it!

I used a white base card, Pure Luxury card stock and a bright digi paper I found lurking on my computer. I even broke out some old school stickers! Parts of the monster and his beer glass are all coated in Crystal Effects, and he was colored with Copic markers. The inside is a simple happy birthday, some leftover strips from the front and a trio of beer bottle stickers from Sticko. Ugh, so many leftover scrapbook goodies! This card will also be entered in the Create With Bubbe Birthday Challenge.

As for my trip to the Allentown Show yesterday, I went with the intention of avoiding stamps and updating my Spellbinders. I did stray a wee bit and got some Webster Pages, Zip Dry Glue, and Embossing Folders. Thanks to a super deal they were running at Heartfelt Creations, I was penniless in a matter of minutes. Very pleased with what I bought and can't wait to play today! Have a wonderful Sunday!

Blossom Petals

It has been a few days since I have shared a card, so I figured before the weekend sweeps me away, I will post something. This is a card that I made a couple weeks ago and was hoping to find a challenge to enter it into, but haven't. If you see one that fits, please let me know.

This is quite the combination of items! The biggest of them is my new SU! Blossom Petals punch and the stamp set that goes with it, called Build A Blossom. I did not realize what a huge flower this would create! I found a blue gingham dp and card stock in my stash. Decided to stamp the petals on the gingham with black. When I stamped the center, I colored it with Copics and did the cracked ice technique on it before popping it up. I added the lacy corner dies from Heartfelt Creations, Decorative Butterfly Border Dies set. My sentiment circle is placed on an EKSuccess punch. For accents I used sheer polka dot ribbon, and pearls. I would like to enter this card in the Birthday Sundaes challenge #3 Anything Goes, that Janice M. tipped me off to! Thanks, Janice!

Thanks for stopping by. If you are going to the Allentown Stamp Show tomorrow, stop me and say hi! Enjoy the weekend.

It's Me Again!

Well I didn't mean to fib, but I never made it to work today. I was going to go, and I even put my work clothes on. LOL! Oh well, they weren't expecting me anyway! Too many bad storms! I decided to play and make a card for the current Crazy 4 Cocoa Challenge #19. It is a birthday theme since it is Korin's BD. For today only, they are offering the latest Cookie digi image for free, so hurry on over! My card base is Lipstick Red with a layer of Sweet Corn Pure Luxury card stock. I found a fun, bright, digi paper in my stash. Cookie and her gift are colored with Copics. Her giftie bow is sparkling with Stickles. For my sentiment, I went to a digi from TLC, and added some flower embellishments from K&Co. The lettering is also colored with Copic markers and the edges are sponged with So Saffron ink from SU!. I will also be entering this cutie in the Birthday Challenge over at Create With Bubbe. Thanks so much for stopping by again!

Just Playing

Did you ever get an idea in your head, and it just won't go away? When I saw this weeks sketch over at Stamp TV, I just had to make this.

My card base is Soft Sand with touches of Wild Lilac card stock from Gina K. Designs. I added a digi image I have had in my stash for ages. I do own a corset stamp, but I like this with all of the different designs. I tried out my new Garden Trellis punch from MS for the scalloped edge. My ribbon is from the March club collection at Really Reasonable Ribbon. The sentiment is an old one from Art Impressions, which I just love! Add a Prima and a K&Co flower center on my Sizzix, embossed background, and there you have it!

I will be entering this over at Create With Bubbe, where there is a birthday challenge. Thanks so much for stopping around! Time to go to work!

Joan's Gardens Tag Challenge

Happy Saturday, dear blogging friends! Today I would like to share with you a tag I whipped up for Joan's Gardens Tag Challenge, this week. This is my very first time joining in on the fun! I have seen some gorgeous creations on this challenge!I used a #13 Manila tag and painted it with white acrylic paint. I tore and layered some K&Co paper and many leaf punches, topping it off with a handmade flower. I added a bird punch from SU! After using Vintage Photo Distress Ink on my edges, I shabbied it up with some Gina K. Design stamps, and topped it off with a birthday sentiment. My hanger is pale blue organza.

Well now, that was fun. I would like to thank everyone who left me a beautiful comment yesterday on my swan card! You rock!

I am also entering this in the Create with Bubbe Birthday Challenge.

For those who have been saying prayers for my Niece, she could not hold out any longer and delivered by C-Section on Thursday morning. The baby is 2 pounds 10 ounces and has already been taken off oxygen, so he is a fighter! His name is Flynn Patrick (Patrick after my niece's mother, Pat, who passed away 3 weeks ago). Flynn is almost 32 weeks. Please continue to include them in your prayers. Thanks!

Warm With Love

I have a very special post to share with you all today. A few weeks ago, I received an e-mail from Theresa Momber, one of the fantastic illustrators over at Gina K. Designs. She informed me that her newest stamp set, was designed around all of the swan photos that I had posted last Summer/Fall. Isn't that just the coolest? Well her set is released and she asked me to do some designing with it, which is just as cool! Today is my first post using her gorgeous set called Warm With Love.

I have seen many creations already posted using Warm With Love, but I am not sure I saw a black and white one. All of the little nature elements she has included will truly be some of those "go to" stamps. I was also happy to see some new sentiments, also. Theresa has been working with the set for some time now, so please check out her blog, and be sure to scroll. Today though, she has posted another card by me!

My base is Onyx Black and Pure White, Pure Luxury card stock. I added a layer of MM designer paper. I created my scene/sentiment piece with punched corners from Martha Stewart. My tall grasses are stamped with London Fog from Memento, and all other stamping is done with Tuxedo Black. Touches of Copic marker were added to my swan, and he was cut and popped. For accents I used sheer black ribbon which is laced and tied through a reverse print, chipboard button. A simple grey rose was then added.

I just had to end with a photo of my feathered friends. They are so fun to watch! Thanks for stopping by, and I do appreciate all comments.
