Off The Wall Craftiness #8

Is this the coolest inspiration photo or what! It looks like a dip in a refreshing swimming pool. I took the plunge and here is what I came up with. Please go check out all the goodness over at Kim's blog.
The papers and card stocks are all from the old scrap bin. The lemon trio stamp is a limited edition from Club Scrap. The refreshing pitcher and glass are from a company called ArtStampHeaven. I used Diamond Stickles, yellow gingham ribbon, and a few yellow Dewdrops as my accents.

It is 92 degrees here in my part of PA today. Anything refreshing looks real good today! Happy stamping!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Again!

Yes, it's that time again! Actually I waited until the end of the 2 week stretch for the last one and that is why the posts seem so close together. This weeks trigger at Moxie Fab World, is taken from the new Card Creation, Vol #8 put out by PaperCraft magazine. If you would like to see what is to inspire us,
click here. I worked on this card off and on all day. Most of the papers and accents are from Cosmo Cricket, but I do not know what collection. I bought the whole collection from Tuesday Morning and I believe it was offered on one of the shopping channels. There was a whole inventory list, but no design name. It has paper, ribbon, brads, stickers, chipboard etc..... I added some antique crocheted buttons, epoxy brads, and a silk flower from my own stash. Do you see the teeny tiny crochet ones in the upper left corner of the card? Aren't they just the sweetest? My card base is Pure Luxury Soft Sand card stock from Gina K. Designs. I used a MS border punch for my edge.

This was so much fun to create, and I am glad i got to share it with you. Have a great night! It's going to be a crazy TV watching marathon tonight!

Sweet of You

I am so sweet on this little ice cream/ teddy, thank you card. I am entering it in two challenges and I hope you all enjoy.First I am entering it in There's Magic In The Air/ Paper Cupcakes since this little bear is their image. The challenge, is a wee bit confusing this week. It reads "Anything but a card with a birthday theme". Now does this mean anything but a card, but with a birthday theme? Or does it mean any card that is not birthday. The examples show both. I went with a card that is a thank you. That is how I took it. I emailed Patti who is bringing us the challenge this week and she said "load it". LOL!

My second challenge I am entering it in is Stamp TV's, Inspire24 challenge brought to us by Gina K. Normally I use GKD stamps for all the challenges, but I thought this was cute, and certainly not against the rules to use other than GKD. Here Goes.

It's another dreary day in PA. Sounds like more stamping to me!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

The Tuesday Trigger for Moxie Fab World, is called Frills and Thrills. The challenge has been running for two weeks this time. Here is the inspiration piece we are to use.

This is the card I came up with. Cath says it is pinks and blues, but I took it as more peachy. I sure would love to own a set of those plates and cups! I went more for the colors than I did the waves.
I used some vintage digi paper with blue buttons and some peach trellis paper, I have had forever. My images were stamped in SU, Baja Breeze ink. The sentiment and label are from Nina Brackett's set called Lovely Labels. The vintage tea cup is from TooMuchFun Rubber Stamps. I added enamel brads, peach ribbon, and silver and blush pearls as my accents.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Send a Card, Receive a Card!

Over at Stamp TV, Lee Murphy came up with the great idea to do a Send A Card, Receive A Card project. It was so easy to set up since all you do is send to the next person who posts a comment under yours. They send you their address and you create a card you think they will enjoy!
This card was created for a STV member named Holly, who was my lucky comment. When she sent me her address, she mentioned that she had 2 Labrador Retrievers as my photo over there is of my black Lab.

The designer paper that I used was from DCWV and scraps from my stash. The stamp is one I just love, from Stamp Cabana. The reason I bought this stamp, is because I saw a sample at a show, where you slit the dogs mouth and insert a real twig for a stick. Didn't do that this time but isn't he cute? Trust me, he looks good in any Lab color! My sentiment is computer generated. I added some paw print charms and ribbon with button and twine.

I just heard from Holly, and she loved the card! Hope you do also.

The Month Went Quickly

Time sure does fly by just when we wish it wouldn't. I had such a fun time this past month, designing with Theresa Momber's, newest set called Gone Fishing. It has been such a pleasure. I have two cards that I have not previously posted, and thought this would be a good time.

This first card, uses papers and tag from a set by Dena's Closet. I used the tree line stamp and sentiment from Gone Fishing, and added the 2 deer from one of Theresa's previous sets called Life Is Good. I added accents with a white gel pen and used a button that was threaded with hemp. My next card is a CAS card that I created simply with Pure Luxury card stock in Ocean Mist and Chocolate Kiss. ! stamped the flies from the Gone Fishing set, in Memento, Rich Cocoa and then punched them out with SU circle punches. I added some silver sticky half beads and wound some pale turquoise wire around to look line line. The ribbon was a scrap from my stash.

Thank you again, Theresa for giving me the opportunity to show my work and get out the word of this amazing stamp set.

Berries, YUM!

This is just a little card I created for a dear friend of mine. I saw the stamps when I was looking for something to send them, and realized that if I didn't use them soon, May would be over and I would have missed my chance again!I created my background with Soft Sand Pure Luxury card stock from Gina K. Designs. The small and large strawberry stamps are from Annita's. I used Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored them with Copic Markers. I am unsure of the sentiment maker as it is an unmounted I got in a lot. I finished off with red gems and some red and white check ribbon. Easy peasy!

Thank goodness it is Friday, but my DH has to work most of the weekend, so I bet I am in the stamp room for many hours. Oh, and did anyone see the season finale of Grey's last night? Yipes! Have a wonderful weekend!

My Card For Jayme

I created this card to fill a special request that was made by one of our Stamp TV members. Lisa Cook, has asked us to create cards for her sister, Jayme. Jayme has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and things have been progressing more quickly then they had originally thought. Jayme loves frogs, and Lisa is asking us to use frog stamps if we have them to create funny cards for her.

The papers I used are from the Basic Grey, Lime Ricky collection. The background swirl is from Heartfelt Creations. The little frog is from VIP stamps and is colored with Copics then coated in Crystal Lacquer. I used Pop Dots and Stickles to add dimension and sparkle.

If you would like more info on this special request, please click here. I really hope that this can bring a smile to Jayme's face. Have a great day!

What's What Around The Lake

I saw that some of my blogging friend are showing all of their Springtime beauty, so I decided to jump on the band wagon and post some photos that Dee Marie took when she was home this past weekend. I just got a chance to load them, and I must say, she got some beauties!

First up, The swans are still visiting. Look at their feathers, they look like they are airbrushed with smoke! I also love how they look like they are wearing scuba flippers! The geese in the background, are the only visitors they will allow. Dee got as close as she could, but backed off when she got growled at.
These are the iris behind my shed. Blue flowers are such a treat!

Look at this crab apple tree! It is so packed with fruit! I remember when it was blooming, you could not see the branches!
Last is a photo of a bleeding heart, up close and personal. This is one of my very favorite Spring flowers. I love the way they sprawl down a drooping stem. I also like the way they leave new plants for the next year. Thanks for giving me some gorgeous blog fodder, Dee! Okay, that is it for now. I must get ready for work, as I am minding the store today for a few hours. Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks for taking a look around the lake.

JUGs Challenge #33 Patriotic Colors

I have not done a JUGs Challenge in a long time, and when I saw this weeks, I knew I had to find time. With Memorial day right around the corner, thought it would be great to start the celebration a little early.

I used Flourishes set called Patriotism On Parade that was released last year. My dp is Basic Grey, Boxer collection. My navy and kraft card stock is form Gina K. Designs and is Pure Luxury. I colored my bunting with OMS and colored pencils. Stick on silver stars are my accents.

I hope you had a beautiful weekend in your part of the world! Thanks for stopping by.

Thinking of You, Son

I am very fortunate to see my DS most every weekend. He works so hard at his regular job, but then operates his recording studio on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Phew! It is an understatement to say our house rocks on the weekends. The latest band he has been working with, does jazz, New Orleans style. I loved it! I understand that this Saturday, It is an older fellow who does Sinatra and he was given a gift of a day in the studio! Anyway, I had him on my mind this week, more than usual, because he sent a resume for a great job opportunity. Have my fingers, toes, and eyes crossed that he will be called for an interview!

As the guest designer, for Theresa Momber's new stamp set called Gone Fishing, I have been trying to show how versatile it is. It will make wonderful Father's Day cards, but it will also make great cards and projects for everyday occasions. I have used this stand of trees before, but I think I am loving it just stamped simply and not colored. The set is available from Gina K. Designs, and can be found here. I must say that the "thinking of you today" sentiment is from another one of Theresa's sets called, Life Is Good.

I stamped and sponged my image on Pure Luxury, pure white card stock with Soft Suede ink by SU. It was cut out with a labels nine Nestabilites die. My card base is kraft PL and my dp is digital. I created my top border with some blue grosgrain ribbon and a new MS embossing border punch I just bought. My chipboard letters were pre-distressed an are made by Lil Davis Designs.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you are having a great day so far!

Gina K. Cinema Challenge

Gina K. Designs is on a search for their Center Stage Spotlight Guest Designer for next month of May. When I saw that you had to create a card using a favorite movie. Things just clicked. Here is the movie I have chosen to use.
Alfred Hitchcock's thriller, The Birds, is such a classic! He was a master in his day. This film introduced Tippi Hedren. The stamps I used to create my card my card are from 2 of the April stamp sets that were released. Asela Hopkins new set called Sew Pretty, gave me the vintage lady, and Melanie Muenchinger's set, Gifts From The Sea, had the perfect bird stamps for my dark sky. Sponging was done with Memento, Tuxedo Black and other touches of color are done with Copics. My strip of dp is from DCWV. I created a word bubble and used Alphabities for my Eek! The inside will sport a "Sorry I Forgot Your Birthday" sentiment. Do you think I am a wee bit warped? Hee, Hee!

If you get a chance, stop over and see what everyone has created!

A Duo of Challenges

My first challenge card is for the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger. It was inspired this week by a purse that Nina Brackett fell in love with. Isn't it adorable?

I just love how all the pink flowers are like a nest at the bottom of the bag! As for me, I can never get enough polka dots!
The stamp set I used is from Stampin Up and is called Delight In Life. I used Green Apple, Pure Luxury card stock for my background layer. I also used the polka dot border stamp from Nina's new Vintage Borders set at Gina K. Designs. It was stamped over dp from K&Co. My flowers were stamped on dp from K&Co.'s Madeline collection and then outlined in Copic marker. I added green pearls as accents.

My next challenge, is from Kim Wilson's inspiration piece for her new challenge at Off The Wall Craftiness. It is her #6 challenge already! Look at this gorgeous peacock!

I must add a thank you to my post this week, as I was the random winner of her challenge last week and won a whopping $25.00 gift certificate from Third Coast Stamps. Thanks so much!

I used a white 2A card base and added papers from the S.E.I. paper collection called Charlemagne. My stamp is from the Gem Stone Birds stamp set by Inkadinkado. The sentiment is from the Masculine Messages stamp set by Gina K. Designs. I added touches of color to the feather with my Copic markers and then added a turquoise pearl to the center and some peacock colored eyelash fibers. Images were stamped in Memento, Tuxedo Black ink.

Thanks for stopping by and please check back, as I may get another post done today!

Eat, Sleep, Fish.......

Most men would be perfectly happy to go on a permanent vacation to a quiet lake. Alas, work and life keeps that dream from happening most of the time. Today I would like to post another card I created with Theresa Momber's new stamp set called "Gone Fishing". It is available from Gina K. Designs. It has images that can create projects with that fisherman in mind, but it also can create tender moments between a Father and child. My card base is Pure Luxury Chocolate Kiss card stock. I created a frame for my scene by running a piece of Kraft PL through my Cuttlebug and giving it a wood graining. I cut it into equal size strips that were fastened with brads on the corners. I sponged the frame to show the texture. I then stamped one of the fish in the set and cut it out with an oval Nestabilities. Using the die as a guide, I sponged a darker rim and then traced the inner circle with a white gel pen. the fish had a have a few accents also. My scene was colored in Copics and the sky and grass were sponged with Versamagic chalk ink.

Theresa has put up a post today that features some of my work. I am bustin my buttons! Melissa S., from Buggin To Stamp, who is my co-guest designer, also has a post up today that uses Theresa's set. I hope you can pop over and show her some love. Thanks for stopping by, an if you have not seen my previous post, check out my new visitors to the lake!

New Visitors To The Lake

About 2 1/2 weeks ago, My DH called me when he was coming home from work. He asked me if I had looked out at the lake that day. Nope, I was busy cleaning, stamping and cooking. He told me to go look out the window. There in the middle of the lake was a beautiful white swan!

The next day, my neighbor sent me this photo, which shows that it has some leg issues. It looks like he is fluffing his wings, but that leg stays that way when he is swimming.

He seemed to disappear for a few days last week, and we thought he flew the coop. This weekend he was back, and as happy as ever. He seems to have made friends with 3 Canadian geese that come back to nest each Spring. I think their nest is on the lower lake which is a wee bit more overgrown and natural. If other geese land, he has a fit and starts flapping and honking until they leave. Well, I woke up yesterday and then there were 3. DH took a few shots for me so I could do this post, but I must say, it is very hard to get clear pictures with my small camera. Here they are! I am afraid that if I try to name them, they will fly away. I also have no clue if male or female. For some reason I want to keep saying Manny, Mo, and Jack!

They love to eat weeds and preen their feathers! I hope they stay! So gorgeous! Nice surprise, huh?

A New Challenge Spot

Good afternoon everyone! I just wanted check in and load a card that I made for a new Challenge spot. It is called Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge and it is their very first! You can fine it at Marks Finest Papers. Looks like they have a brand new design team with lots of talent. I received an invite to join in from a Stamp TV friend, Vicki Dutcher. Well here I am, Vicki! We had to create a card using red, white, and blue, but did not have to be patriotic.
I believe that my main image is from Rubber Cottage. The water stamp is an unknown. The tiny birds and the pretty shells I used to create a tone on tone background, is from a new set by Melanie Muenchinger, called Gifts From The Sea which is available at Gina K. Designs. My papers are just from my scrap bin. I popped up the sailboat and added some R-W-B nautical ribbon and some silver sticky stars as my accents.

I would love for you to leave a comment., and tell me what ya think!

OTWC #5 Miss Shoe

It's that time again! Time for one of Kim Wilson's fun inspiration challenges! If you get a chance, stop over to Off The Wall Craftiness and play along. Look at the piece she gave us to work with this week. Yipes! I guess the best part is that we all see different things when we look at it.
I used a 2A card for my base. The shoe and balloons are both unmounteds from my heap. The cloud stamp is from Art Impressions. The letter stamps and stars are from Image Tree. The dot clusters is a stubby stick from Judith. Everything was stamped in Memento, Rich Cocoa. Coloring was done with colored pencils and OMS, with touches of Copic marker. I used a piece of torn red and some crazy red and brown pre-smooshed paper. I used Clear Lacquer on the balloons and shoes and then added a ribbon rose. Lots of Pop Dots and diamond Stickles, finish off the card.
At least I didn't wait until 10 minutes before challenge end, this week! LOL! Thanks for stopping by!

Another New Set from Gina K. Designs!

I just had to get these cute stamps inky! If you get a chance, go check out the rest of the set here. The illustrator is Gina herself! It is sooooooo adorable! My dp is from MAMBI, and I thought it suited my ocean scene perfectly! I distressed a plain white piece of card stock by wetting it and rolling the edges, bending, sanding, and then used Fiber Scraps walnut Tintz to make it look like seaweed/kelp color. I used Copics and colored pencils w/oms to color my images. For accents, I used clear Dew Drops, hemp twine, Crystal Lacquer, and mica flake glitter from MS. Oh, I also did a bit of stitching! This set is just too cute and I can see me using it for many upcoming Summer cards!

Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday, and that you are having a beautiful Spring day and not sweltering heat and humidity like us.
